He didn't say anything about Israel. To say the whole world would benefit from Iran's nukes could mean to him that the whole world would benefit from Israel's destruction, G- d forbid. Yori, they do NOT own it, Hashem does. We WILL get it back and we know many are praying about it, as it's in the daily prayers, even if they're not present at the mount. If we get it back before the time is right, maybe we'll be fighting liberal Jews who'll want to have women on the mount leading services, gay marriages, and all kinds of idiocy. Hashem sent us out and we weren't able to prevent the building of the mosques. But their time of dominance will soon be over. It's really in Hashem's timing. The Temple will soon be rebuilt, and the Muslims will be nowhere around.

I beg to differ with comments above. To my understanding, missionaries have to have a license to proselytize, or it is illegal. King of Kings probably has one, but maybe the cafe doesn't. Regardless, to compare Israel's regulations of missionaries to Sharia is way off base. Jews get very tired of being harassed by Christians trying to push a false faith down our throats. By regulating who can proselytize and how, the Israeli govt is protecting its citizens from continual subterfuge and misleading enticements of Christian missionaries. We've all been approached by those who pretend to be Jewish, only to spring a false messiah on us later on. We no longer will tolerate that.

Maybe the airlines could put such passengers in cells in the cargo hold where the dogs etc. are kept for the remainder of the flight. Such disruptive behavior should not be tolerated, dry run or not, and it would also show any potential terrorists that the airlines will not tolerate any kind of behavior that could indicate a terror attack. Also, begin ethnic profiling of disruptive passengers.

This is a control issue. The muslims are using threats of violence to control what happens on the Mount, which is Israel's to control. We have to stop giving in to their threats of violence. Arrest and deport the rioters. This goes on and at the same time Israel is accused of apartheid against Arabs. Bottom line is, G-d owns the Temple Mount and His payback will not be pretty. This is the very LAST place Muslims should choose to take such a stand.

This is an abomination. I've toured the mount with Rabbi Glick and he's not a troublemaker or anything that should bring about such an order. This is not right. I'm one Israeli who's getting very fed up with the situation with the Arabs on the Temple Mount. If they won't share, they need to go. Period. We need to stand firm against their riots and threats. I pray the govt rescinds the order against Rabbi Glick.

The first paragraph makes no sense. It should have stated last year as 2012. Here's how the Globes article started:

"The government deficit shrank to NIS 14.1 billion in January-September 2013 from NIS 20.2 billion in the corresponding period of 2012, after the deficit in September totaled just NIS 900 million. The deficit in the 12 months through September shrank to NIS 32.9 billion - 3.2% of GDP, based on the Central Bureau of Statistics' new GDP methodology, and 3.4% of GDP in the budget plan. The 12-month deficit has been shrinking steadily since March."

This is a prime example of why politics and religion should not be mixed. Even the Sanhedrin became corrupt. What despicable behavior. Deri should not be allowed to serve in any office until a probationary period has passed. He just got out of prison, for goodness sake! This public behavior gives Judaism a black eye. I still fail to understand why the drafting of charedi young men is such a terrible thing for these people. If the young men want to do army service, why shouldn't they? It's only a percent anyway, not all yeshiva backers. Besides, are they so removed from reality that they don't see the harm they do to the unity of clal Yisrael? Many Israelis can't stand the Charedi values, partly because of this stance, and that puts a bad light on the Torah these rabbis say they want to lift up. I distrust them mightily because they ignore the teachings of Torah on the responsibility to fight for the Land. What chutzpah that they should think the rest of Israel needs to support them AND protect them, without getting anything in return. So they study Torah all day? Without applying it, it's worse than meaningless.

As a Jewish woman, I object to what the WOW is saying and what they are fighting for. While it might be the fault of the media, I've not yet read any quotes by the WOW that indicate they want to please G-d. It seems to be about sexual equality, even the quotes I've heard from people who know WOW members personally. Sexual equality on their terms is not in the Torah, IMO. The Temple area is one space at which G-d made the rules and he picked men to be the Cohenim and the Levitical workship leaders. If WOW members want to act like men in other places, they should be allowed. But the Temple Mount and the Kotel are special and such roles are reserved for men.

The headline is misleading. Are we to believe that the Attorney General is the government? One court level has decided in favor of settlers and building, so to say the "government" wants to stop the building is very wrong. If Weinstein is doing only what "the govt" wants, why is the article written to the effect that it is only Weinstein who is the thorn in the side of the settlers? Do we assume that the attorney general only does the bidding of Bibi? Please be consistent and clear in your writing.

What a bunch of fools. It's totally unbelievable. Obama suffered a huge humiliation when Rouhani refused to meet him, and now a short phone call in which obama bowed down again to a terrorist regime seems to have bolstered his ego. Why? I can't for the life of me see why this should be made a big deal of. Iran is a murderous entity; do Americans really want to bow down to them? Everyone can't be a Cohen. There are traditions passed down from father to son, presumably which trace back to the Temple times. But not all Cohenim want to be involved in Orthodox settings. I've known at least one in a Conservative shul, one in a Reform congregation,  and also one who was not affiliated with any denomination after he'd had some hard times. Both the Conservative and Reform Cohenim were known by the congregation to be Cohenim and no one even considered putting themselves in a similar role. The info passed down is not known to outsiders; this to me is a miracle, as the "secrets" have been handed down for thousands of years without being lost, and Cohenim know who they are. When the 3rd Temple is built, Cohenim will be ready to perform their priestly duties. How awesome is this!

If Jews aren't supposed to fight to protect the Land of Israel, why does Torah state that newlyweds don't have to fight, and that soldiers can break Kosher laws to save their lives? Moshe Rabbeinu led the fighting against our enemies in Torah.  The Haredim are polarizing Israelis and doing a dis-service to Hashem. His credibility is further nullified when he states they dress like Israelites at Sinai.  How much better would it be if the Haredi soldier could be a light to secular soldiers? But with this type of leadership, it looks like they will increase secularism rather than inspire anyone to greater heights. What a shame.

Thanks for this great message, well thought out and one which speaks for at least one Israeli - me. I don't want the US to make a mess of things. Their track record under Obama is disastrous. Better they should stay out than mess in an internal civil war with no winning side. If it's Iran they are worried about, they should attack Iran and its nuclear facilities, but stay out of Syria. AIPAC is wrong on this one; Jews will suffer for their involvement if the US does go to war with Syria, unless they wipe out both Syria and Iran at the same time - highly unlikely since Obama just wants to do  a 3 day sortie. How can that accomplish anything other than broaden the conflict?

At this season, I pray for people like Dan to look into Torah to see how G0d, through Moshe, appointed men to be Cohenim and Levites at the Temple. Women have separate roles and are not required to pray in minyans out of siddurim. We are merited, like Hannah, to pray from our hearts to G0d's ears. He hears the cries of women; we do not need to, nor should we, imitate men in their imitation of Levites.

Since we know there will be no agreement with the Arabs, as what they're seeking is impossible, it might be all a sham just to get these prisoners released. There is no point in releasing prisoners and getting nothing in return. What a mistake to say we'll talk for 9 months. Such a joke against us. The terrorist attacks are still being planned, all the more so because we're sitting in negotiations & there is much opposition among the Arabs to "peace". If they are plotting terror now, how much more so if given, G-d forbid, more land from which to attack us. We need to stop this farce now and release no new prisoners, plus we need to employ the death penalty for terrorists, If not the death penalty, we need to line the Arab prison cots with pigskin. Sounds crazy? It's no crazier than sitting with an enemy to beg them to steal our land. That's crazy!

This whole faux peace process with a faux people is such an insane waste of time. Anyone who believes giving land to a false people - created to steal Israel's land - will bring peace is in delusion. Insisting on East Jerusalem as their capital they know will never happen. Jews cannot give up the Temple Mount and G0d will not allow it. If it wasn't for Him, Jews would have committed suicide long ago by giving away everything. We're our own worst enemy because we have no leadership who can look at our history and know what G0d put us here to do. Our mission is inextricably tied to our Land; it's impossible to cede it to enemies of G0d. We need to deport all Arabs who won't swear allegiance to Israel as Jewish led, annex Judea and Samaria. The IDF with G0d's help, will keep the peace after that's done.

It would be nice if the Israeli leaders would realize that they've brought in thousands of olim from many countries and few have mastered Hebrew by now. We've lots of people who are only functional in English, Russian, Ethiopian, French etc. There needs to be some kind of program which encourages "veterans" to help the olim in time of war.  Then the shelter problem; many Israelis have stored stuff in the shelters, which is illegal but not enforced,so we have no shelter in our building. The stairwell is about it. They say not to open the gas masks, so we have no idea how they work. We can put on a gas mask, but what is atropine anyway? Are the instructions in Hebrew? No wonder Israel needs G-d. The govt runs drills, but mostly for schools. What about the elderly at home alone?  It's definitely Hashem who has prevented Israelis from being hurt more in the past attacks.

As an Israeli Jewish woman who likes to pray privately at the Kotel by myself, & as a traditionalist trying to obey G-d, I'm very offended by the WOW & their talking as if they represent all women. It's bad enough they want to usurp the men's G-d-given roles as public worship leaders at the Temple, but now they put G-d in a box by stating that He only lives in one spot at the Kotel! Good grief, this is so ludicrous. So they want to get in G-d's face & go against His word by acting & dressing like men, & they're not afraid of G-d's judgment on that? Equal rights? Where's the humility & respect at the most holy place in the world? When the Temple comes, are they going to insist on equal rights to function as Cohenim too? It's fine to have an Egalitarian place for the bar/bat mitzvahs of the masorti etc., but women do not need their own space so they can make a spectacle of themselves competing with men. If they really sincerely want to do this, they can go in the room on the women's side that is next to the Kotel. Why the need to be in the public eye? I submit that it has nothing to do with G-d, but everything to do with pride.
