The only person who is sounding stupid here mate is you. Try writing in an intelligent manner, then maybe you won't sound so stupid.
I'm all for character development, but in MoS there was very little. What small glimpses we saw was lost in a gulf of overwhelming CGI and cartoon action. Lois Lane stumbles on Superman's lair almost immediately and susses out who he is...and you say this film is about slow development...yeah right!
The most laughable part of the entire film was when Lois was captured and joined forces with the ghost of Jor-El. Once this happened I could no longer take the film seriously any longer....but you obviously did.
Good luck to you. You obviously were very satisfied with the level of intelligence and emotion on display in a very, very shallow film......and you call other people stupid for not liking this.

@jwatkis You must have seen a different movie to me then, as I didn't witness any of the positives you mentioned above.
@stevemailman @ScottJamesBarber @jJaay Your reply started off in an intelligent manner, then you resorted to using block capitals, bad language, and finally succumbed to generalisations of all people who don't like the film as dumb and ignorant with your idiotic drivel spouting at the end by making out none of us can write properly.
I think this speaks volumes about the kind of person you are, particularly in light of your film tastes....I am so happy I don't share your tastes....or your gutter trash level of intelligence.
If you look at the drop off after its big, hyped, opening weekend, it tells a different story to the rating on IMDB.
Every person I have spoken to says the film was terrible. I appreciate that doesn't give me an accurate picture of the entire planet, but normally it gives me a fair idea of how a film is being perceived by general audiences.
Skyfall, for instance was received much better by people I asked, and in general that is thought of fairly highly by critics and audiences alike, which I also agree with.
Likewise, Nolan's Bat flicks are also generally thought of highly by audiences and critics alike. When that happens, it normally gives you a good benchmark for how a film is being received....and also the quality of the film.
And yes, Superman Returns rated higher than MoS on RT...quite rightly so. Yes, we all know SR is not great, but it is a masterpiece of cinema compared to this stinking heap of horse manure.
MOS is on par with Die Another Day and Batman & Robin as franchise stinkers.
MOS is a shockingly awful piece of filmmaking. Nolan showed the way with how a super hero film can be adapted to modern audiences, and yet this failing heap of stinking garbage couldn't quite grasp that basic concept of how a movie pleases an audience.
Forget all the arguments about Superman killing Zod. Bottom line is, the film itself was very bad. Storyline was weak, characters were weak, the direction was a mess. The last part of the movie was nothing more than having the tedious experience of watching someone playing a cheap computer game. Negative word of mouth killed the BO figures, showing a significant drop off after the first week, so forget these arguments that `everyone loved it'.....no they didn't!
The reviews got it spot on too. This film scored even lower on RT than Superman Returns, which says it all.
Superman The Movie, for all its faults, is light years away from this film in comparison. Reeve is the definitive Superman, and Donner's first film is the definitive movie. Even Nolan took inspiration from Donner's movie when making his Batman triology - and look how popular that was.
The next film will be awful. WB have started a sinking ship with the franchise now, turning it into another `Batman & Robin' travesty.
