Seems like the problem with this injury is that blood doesn't flow very well in that area. Why isn't KD going to Germany to get that platelet rich injection therapy that Kobe got on his knee not an option?

McGary’s offensive rebounding numbers are stupid good right now. He has a 26.2 offensive rebounding rate and his 22.8 defensive rebound rate is above average too. To put those offensive rebound numbers in perspective, an average center’s offensive rebounding rate will be around 10-12. The good ones will be 13-15, and the elites will be above 15. As it turns out, only 10 rookies in the history of the NBA have recorded offensive rebounding rates greater than 15 and qualified for rebounds per game. Dennis Rodman has the record for offensive rebounding rate with his 20.8 in 1994-95. This season, only four guys have an offensive rebounding rate greater than 15 and qualify: Andre Drummond, DeAndre Jordan, Bismack Biyombo and Tristan Thompson. McGary cannot hit the offensive glass like those guys and this hot start has fluke written all over it.

Would you consider asking Scott Brooks why he values continuity over tactical lineup management trying to force a square peg in a round hole? (Why he starts big lineups that constantly fail against teams that aren't big down low EX: Golden State, Heat in finals etc)

@FallenOSIRIS @sylpkt RG3 isn't rosterable in 8 team leagues right now, Rivers has a pretty brutal matchup w/ Seattle. Look to see if Dalton (home vs ATL, Palmer (at NYG), Kaep (vs CHI), or even Locker (home vs DAL) are available
6 months, 2 weeks ago on Thursday Bolts – 9.11.14
@FallenOSIRIS @sylpkt in an 8 team league, there is no reason to have 2 QBs. Only guys like Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Luck and Stafford are going to be played every week. You'll be able to plug and play guys like Ryan, Cutler, Romo, Rivers, Brady, RG3, Kaep, Wilson, Palmer, Dalton, etc every week. Don't waste a roster spot on a backup when there are equal or better guys that can be picked up
@FallenOSIRIS there has to be someone else on your roster that is more droppable than the list of receivers you gave. Depending on the size of your league and your QB, you might not need to roster a backup. Same w/ TE. How big is the league, PPR or Standard, and who else is on your roster. If all else fails, pick him up for your kicker and you'll have a couple of days to figure it out before having to drop someone for a kicker sunday morning.

By doing this, the Thunder essentially save a roster spot and about $900k against the luxury tax for this year. They get to develop a project in their system and control him for 5 years instead of 4. That last roster spot is key, because the Thunder have shown the ability to plug in a veteran that was bought out by a bad team at midseason to help for the stretch run (DFish & Butler). Let's say that Kevin Martin is traded to Philly as part of a Kevin Love deal to Cleveland so Minny gets out of his contract and Philly gets a future 1st. Then KMart decides he doesn't want to play for Philly, so he accepts a buyout and comes back to OKC to assume the same role he played 2 years ago. Philly ends up paying a few million on a buyout and KMart gets back into a situation where he fits in perfectly given his skill set again. OKC has the flexibility to do this with this type of agreement with Heustis. Thunder are again playing Chess while the majority of the rest of the league continues to play checkers.

@sammasaaron @sylpkt right, but couldn't the 66ers just sign him to a 990k 1 year deal?

I've heard average salary in the D-League is 25-30K, but is there any max or cap for the D-League? Couldn't OKC just pay him whatever his 1st year contract is worth to play for the 66ers and not have him count against the NBA cap or roster?

9 months ago on Report: Thunder are ‘frontrunners’ for Pau Gasol
Perk would have to be traded along with an asset. I doubt Gasol will sign for the MLE, but 2y/$10 would probably get it done. PJIII, Perk and a 2015 first (I think the Lakers owe theirs to PHX from the Nash trade) would make sense for both sides. The Lakers get Perk, who while not near as good as he used to be (boston days), would be someone Kobe likes and should be a good influence on Randle. He's an expiring so it keeps salary off their books for 2015. They get a look at PJ who might thrive with constant minutes at SF. Gasol comes here and plays 20-25 minutes a night starting at C. Adams gets 20 minutes a night and starts games that Gasol sits to keep him fresh. Serge and Adams get to learn offense from one of the best offensive big men in the game. Win. Win.

9 months, 1 week ago on Grant Jerrett’s signing was a bit of salary cap magic by the Thunder
Reggie's “takeover” was very Harden-ish. If he can provide the Thunder with 80% of what Harden would give them at 50% of the cost (4y/$32m instead of 4y/$64m), then the Thunder will be alright long term. The main difference between their games is that Harden gets tons of calls when he drives the basket, and Reggie doesn’t (yet). But they have similar games –
(13′-14′ Season) Jackson – 44% FG, 34% 3PT, 89% FT, 11.5 FGA/G, 4 RB, 4 AST, 1 ST, but just 2.2 FTA/G
(11′-12′ Season) Harden – 49% FG, 39% 3PT, 84% FT, 10 FGA/G, 4 RB, 4 AST, 1 ST, but 6.0 FTA/G
Both get indifferent/lost on defense, but have the talent to be above average. If Reggie could just get a call or two when he drives…

Just wondering, but where was Miller going to play?
Russ, Thabo, KD, Serge & Perk will start
Reggie, Lamb/Fisher, Collison, Thabeet/Orton/Adams and either Russ or KD will be the 2nd unit
Russ, Reggie, KD, Serge and any of Thabo/Collison/Fisher/Perk will finish the game.
He brought veteran depth and experience and would have been an upgrade on fisher, but he's not the difference in a ship or not. The health of Russ & KD are.

@uglywin So you're probably one of those Gooner fans that says what has Bob Stoops done lately?
Presti has a mandate to control the overall budget given the new CBA. We don't have the local TV revenue that a larger market team like the Lakers or Knicks or Nets or Mavericks has, therefore staying within the parameters of the budget is paramount. Just because the players he has drafted have mostly been too good a year to early to sign them to cheaper deals shouldn't mean he should be beat up for taking the best offers available given those restraints. I can remember when Westbrook was a major reach and everyone wanted Brook Lopez. The next year, everyone wanted Ricki Rubio or Stephen Curry (Curry has been great, but those ankles can't hold up over the long run) and he drafted Harden, who kinda looked like a bust til about midway through his 2nd year. The Gasol for Gasol/Kwami Brown trade looked awful at the time it was made too. We have 2 of the best 8 players on the planet and as forward thinking as this franchise and Presti are, we'll continue to have 2 of the best 8 for the next 10 years. Given the new CBA, that's about the best you can hope for unless you get another star player on a rookie deal. Let the franchise develop, this team was a Westbrook knee injury away from winning all this year (I think we take the Heat this year with Wade's health like it was and Bosh disappearing). Stop being spoiled

If Lamb were in this draft, who would you pick first. McClemore or Lamb? Both 6'5" 180 w/ athletism. Both have skills to be elite defenders. Neither seem to want to be a no 1 scoring option, but both can shoot and finish in transition.
