I have a feeling there'll be news soon. Bates is all about delays, poor communication and winding up the `morons' expect some cr@p press conference this week however to announce a sponsorship deal for the corporate boxes, swiftly followed about 48 hours later by announcement of a takeover. I fear bates final act of destruction is yet to be seen, true ownership of the stadium, % of shares he actually controls... we have to wait and see. Does anyone expect him to go quietly?

DJE you're not wrong mate, Bates wants cash - its provenance is of little import. The Abramovich deal proves that. What is different now though to the ManUre and Liverpool takeovers is simply that cash is king now, in summary the likelihood of loans backing up a purchase are very limited indeed, those with cash - not borrowed money or refinancing plans have leverage.

for anyone doubting the value of a takeover, our other option is another 5-6 years of oy-yoing in between the championship and league one. Bates simply wont spend money on players, and hes bet the farm on side projects. Evwn if by sheer dumb luck we did get promoted then Bates would still sell. Time for a change.

i think our p&l tell a story that our board would like us all to believe. Take into account rent, payment of `loans' payments for professional servicesm, and payments to yorkshire radio and youre looking at money off the bottom line, i think leeds are eminently more profitable than bates would have us believe.

the one thing i recommend while nothing is happening on NewsNow is for anyone reading this to go to the Leeds United Supporters Trust website - and sign up - its free. Their most recent article is all about our last seasons accounts. One figure that sticks out is the Pavilion making a £196m loss, versus £196m of cash reserves it held? we all need to back LUST this season, and they like us will no doubt feel disappointed about our false dawn. Yes its early in the close season, but I dont expect movement till the season ticket cash comes in - why are we living hand to mouth like this? We're Leeds United with a £27m turnover and a six figure PROFIT, where has that profit gone?

@wozzer it doesnt work like that, the money will come from the pot of cash left over at the point of the last firm being liquidated, plus in a CVA there will also be limited funds paid by the new purchaser - and I mean very limited, based normally on regular installments. The last payout represented what £600k from 5 years ago. Even if it was paid out in one go it shouldnt hurt our cashflow. More likely is that the money has been put aside for building work on the stadium, or legal fees (all just a surmisation, not an assertion)

@henrymouni I have a feeling that Warnock will walk, and thats a great shame. Within days of Warnock setting out his stall, Ken rode on in with excuses about agents going on holiday and a long close season. I'll always love Leeds but in short I wont go to Elland Road again as long as Bates is in charge. Another poster had it dead right, the loss of revenue in ticket sales from others copying that approach may cost us our status but as long as bates ships out I dont care if we end up in league 2.

Colin, Ken will doubltess point to the wages of the loanees and one season contract wonders as the source of that £3m. But i cant see all of them amounting to £3m, so surely to god theres some cash left?

well indeed you cant very well transfer list an injured player, but not wishing to sound too harsh you can terminate their contracts? we all know ken will be in there like a shot telling us just how enormous our squad is and citing the presence of bromby and kisnorbo among the numbers. There has to be a gem in the youth team though - surely?

@Dje i honestly dont know if there is an equivalent to SSP for footballers paid by the Football league, I doubt it! nor do i think any agent in their right mid would sign a player up to waive wages while injured, but i do recall that both of these guys have only one year left on their contracts so it would seem rather a sentimentality to retain both, but i think as some have said in response to tha rticle that its more likely that we're kinda lumped with them till they recover anyway, had both been fit i still think warnock would have kept Bromby, anyone who's watched Leeds in the last year will know that Kis hasnt been 100% after his last injury. These type of decisions then lead us to the need to make some money out of the squad we have hence Clayton on the transfer list, anyone guess what we'd get for him? £1m-£2m

his agent? and whom would that be?

of course he'll leave, our best players always do. If you were him and had an offer on the table from Newcastle and perhaps the chance to play champions league football, or another dire season of Bates' lies and doldrums league football which would you go for? our best hope is that he signs the deal so we get a better fee. Bates will try it on with Warnock because he likes an argument - Sell Snoddy - and claim he had no other option. In truth he does, he just needed to make him a far better offer, and put in a £5M release clause if champs league football offered. The whole we've made the best offer we can guff is typical Harvey and Bates, negotiating in public and making the player look unreasonable, utterly unprofessional.

though i detest these sorts of exercises I see next departures as, Rachubka, O'Brien, Sam, Bruce, Connolly, Brown, Paynter, Forssell, Kisnorbo. I think we'll see the usual crown jewel sold off if nothing else to fund the contract pay offs of the above, I can see tha player being most likely McCormack who with a 20 goal season behind him will be too tempting for premier league clubs and too big a payday for Bates to ignore i reckon £8m even with one year left on his contract. Some real challenges there, with the key ones being to totally rebuild the backline (Lees-O'Dea-Robinson-AN Other plus support), the midfield (Clayton - Snodgrass - White - ANOther) up front of course seems ok but if we did lose McCormack then we'd need to rebuild there as well, a highe task.

i voted for redfearn, he is the `manager of the season' the season being disappointing, without hope, and directionless, his speall encapsulates all that.

warnocks most difficult job will be clearing the decks. Look at Paynter he firmly believes he is good enough to play for leeds, refuses loan moves, and has 25 years of contract left (I exaggerate) to go he would effectively have to be fired, and have his contractpaid up, another 18 months  if heas on £12k a week thats £900K> you lose that from the transfer pot, he's not alone, O'Brien will probably go, Connolly (both on decent contracts) Lloyd Sam, Michael Brown, the list goes on. This is where the real risk comes in terms of expenditure when no one wants your player, and we have plenty who arent wanted. When an offer for a gradel or a howson comes in you need to dig deep not just to keep them, but get shut of dross and then spend, a balancing act. We can only hope Warnock has the backing of Bates this summer or we could find ourselves very frustrated.

@henrymouni he has jepson as his number 2, apparently pretty good so i'm not too worried there, but poor that we cant even park the bus in front of goal.
