We are shooting 22% from 3. That's a big problem, there's no floor spacing at all.

@DavidMN Oh i thought I had to defend the other side... I'm not sure they would, but I'm also not sure they wouldn't. Ibaka and Gotat would be pretty good paired together, and if they project themselves around in the 5-10 range, one wouldn't be enough. Look what Houston got for Lowry or Portland got for Gerald Wallace.
2 years, 8 months ago on Team USA rips Spain, but Serge Ibaka shines
@DavidMN I think Ibaka at $14M has little value, and may be detrimental to the Thunder, depending on his progression. I think scola at $3M, plus two high picks in the top 10 or so (without Nash, i think they will be very bad) has a lot of value.
If we can lock Ibaka down for around $10M, i think that changes things, but based on his talent level, the surrounding hype, and what McGee got this summer, he'll be getting a lot more.
@justin_mia Would you do Ibaka for Scola and Phx's 2013 and 2015 1sts? Is it crazy that I would consider it?
If we were to trade Ibaka, I'm curious what you guys think the going rate would be in terms of draft picks.

Ibaka had a good game last night in a friendly between Spain and France. That should def be a bolt! 16 and 10!

@diddoff If you look at his stats compared to Kristic's (who played on the same team this year) they aren't very far off. he looks a little thin for a center, but he's listed as one in an arguably more physical league...

@Dominator They have hinrich, too, so they might be persuaded in giving up Pargo. I would also give anything to get Ivan Johnson on this team.
@Jooseppi @Dominator Yeah that doesn't make any sense. OKC and MIA trading would be unprecedented. It's unlikely each conference favorite would be okay with making the other team better.
@anonymous12345 Understood. Which is why they need Nazr. His rights would come to match salaries
@Jax Raging Bile Duct I don't think that's fair. Of course they would...
Boston may also need some size? Nazr for Wilcox and a pick?
Looking at teams who might want Nazr... Think ATL might to give them some depth at C until horford returns? What do you think the thunder could get back, if anything?
@courtsense Now, you too can use websites like basketball-reference! To compare two players just go to player comparison finder and enter their names. http://bkref.com/tiny/tXMDi
Augustin and Maynor have pretty similar assist and turnover #s. Augustin shoots and scores more often, with better competition on the floor and (he starts and plays twice as many minutes), and much worse teammates.
The only clear advantage Maynor has is in 3pt shooting %, which is valuable on the Thunder.
3 years ago on The underside of Thunder economics
It's just not possible with salaries and assets. i think we all miss maynor.

@Remify @Lost Ones Watching the game it didn't feel like Rondo dominated, despite what the stat line suggests
3 years ago on OKC tries to sleepwalk to a win, but loses in Atlanta 97-90
I don't see it that way. As you mention, he has only taken 10 3-pointers from the closer, international 3-point line all season. His free throw shooting is reasonably good, but pick and pop is stretching it I think. What he'll be responsible for is defense, and (hopefully) keeping defenses honest on the offensive end. I think for a fifth big a defensive oriented dude instead of Lat (who is likely a much better overall player) is more ideal.
3 years, 1 month ago on Wednesday Bolts - 2.29.12
He's also as old as Ibaka, so its not like he's some sort of super young prospect anymore.
@SammyThunderer I can see Pleiss filing in Cole's role when Cole (hopefully) steps into Nazr's role next year. I had reasonably big hopes for Pleiss when he was drafted, but I think his ceiling is considerably lower. His Reb/40 min is pretty good, but he's 7th on Brose in minutes and he seemed to struggle against the better Euroleague teams.
@diddoff The Thunder are 7-1 vs. Denver is the last 8 meetings.
3 years, 1 month ago on Monday Bolts - 2.27.12
@SammyThunderer If Maynor hadn't gotten hurt I think we would have been able to put together a much more attractive offer. Agreed it's pretty impossible now.
3 years, 1 month ago on Wednesday Bolts – 2.22.12
If Pau is being shopped, is there any way the Thunder can get him without giving up KD, RW or Harden? That seems ridiculous to me but it seems like whoever get's pau will get him for cents on the dollar.
@[censored] First time I've been on 82games in a bit... We only have one negative net +/- lineup in our top ten used, which is good. That the negative lineup is OKCs current starting line-up is a little troubling.
3 years, 1 month ago on Tuesday Bolts - 2.21.12
@SammyThunderer That's confirmed by 82games. I know Collison's impact is magical and immeasurable, but his counterpart numbers are pretty bad, whether he plays PF or C. I know PER isn't the end-all be-all, but he's giving up 17.8 PER to PFs and 18.4 to Cs.
Centers are averaging a PER of 17.2 against the Thunder, and the Thunder centers are averaging a PER of 10.2.
