@Chichikov I agree. I think MHLS is far and away the best source of Maple Leafs content, but there are some posters here (and I'm thinking of one in particular) who show up in every thread and bully/dismiss anyone with different views. The tone around here is often mean spirited, and its a shame because the blog deserves better than this.
But I'm sure nobody really cares.

Two non-loaded questions, purely to see hat people on this board think:
1) Could the PPPers have been right? True we are missing some KEY players (Bolland), but our luck with shot quality and our goaltending have dropped back to earth (as they suggested they would) and the result has been what they have predicted. Once again not saying they are right, but am curious what people think. I for one, at least, am feeling humbled.
2) If we continue this way through December would you rather get to the first round of the playoffs or a top 10 draft pick?

I'm still debating between Hockeystreams and NHL game center live, i'm wondering if you guys can give me some advice?
I'll be moving from Toronto to Glasgow, so blackouts won't be a problem and full game replays the next game will also be important if I can't stay up late enough to watch the game. My main questions are:
- Are hockeystreams streams as reliable and of the same quality as game centre?
- Does it offer whole game replays?
- Is there a big risk of NHL shutting it down?
I'm willing to pay the extra bit if NHL game centre is worth it. Also, I'm only going to be watching NHL games, and maybe a few international tournaments.

@Cameron19 Just checked his twitter feed and your post is slightly misleading, here is the full conversation:
BTW, no one asked, but "Bobo's" personal take on where Kadri negotiations with TOR are likely headed: As long as TOR holds firm on wanting 2 yr bridge deal, Kadri has no leverage other than witholding services and hoping his absence impacts. Failing that, Kadri makes case for closer to Matt Duchene $ ($3.5M per) than P.K. Subban $ ($2.875M per). We'll see if TOR moves off that #.

@Komas Taberle @Cameron19 Sounds like maybe the Kadri camp corrected him? If the difference is between 2.8 and 3.5 we shouldn't be too worried. Maybe the sticking point is that he only wants to do 1 year, whereas the leafs know they can't have another huge contract to deal with next summer?

10 months, 3 weeks ago on Updates in the Kadri and Franson Watch

@Burtonboy I think they'll start the season with a 21, and hopefully make room throughout the season. It will probably be easier to get rid of Liles in the autumn when other teams don't have the leverage of the Leafs needing cap space for Franson/Kadri, and when a few teams realize they need a veteran defence man.

@wiski Surely he is worth 5 million? Have the Capitals not seen his Corsi?!

@Burtonboy I'm not so sure the 'advance stats' this article is using is the same that is currently in vogue. The article is about watching video, looking at scoring chances (not overall shots), which this site's interviews show the Leafs do keep track of.

@skiingallday @The Toronto Maple Leaf @4evrblue You hit the nail on the head, they are like a Canadian team but without the rivalry that comes along with it.

@skiingallday @4evrblue The Wild would be second on my list as well.  I know nothing about them, but I like their jerseys, their being from Minnesota, and their underdog status.

@skiingallday Great show, season 2 is the best IMO.

@4evrblue @The Toronto Maple Leaf Haha thanks, gotta love any super hero who can shoot sap/syrup out of his hands.
My name "The Toronto Maple Leaf" is the guardian's name. What a ridiculous project, it needs to be brought back for humour's sake.

@The_Polish_Cannon @Burtonboy @Zep2 While I have been solidly on the Kessel wagon for years, I think Fenton is one of the most reasonable people here. Definitely not a dumbass, maybe from your perspective the term "worthy adversary" would be more fitting?

@4evrblue If my favourite team doesn't win the Stanley Cup this season, I hope the Winnipeg Jets win it. Any team but the Habs.

It was close between Montreal/Ottawa/Boston

@MaxwellHowe @Bring the Cup Home Out of those three Gunnarsson is the one I wouldn't do.

@Bring the Cup Home I agree, if we can get Kadri for JVR numbers it will be a risk worth taking. Only problem is it will make signing Franson harder.

(Obviously I would like to see Franson and Kadri signing for less, and I'm sure many of you will lowball their worth, but realistically it doesn't seem likely).

I think it would be worth the risk to lock up Kadri for 4 mil or under for the next 4-6 years. I definately do not want to see a 1 year bridge considering the ammount of free agents we will have next year. A 2 year bridge would also be acceptable, but if he lives up to his potential we will be getting him at a steal (which is what I think Kadri has in mind when he says he will be a steal).
I'm not too optimistic aboutre-signing Franson, I'm not sure I see Liles being traded before the season begins. Furthermore, even if we sign Kadri to a 3 mil bridge deal (I don't see it going much lower than that), we don't have the 3.5-4 mil it will take to sign Franson. I can't see Franson taking a bridge deal as he just came off of one.
Obviously, getting rid of Liles to ammend the situtation would be ideal (I would like to see both signed to 4-6 years somewhere around 3.5-4), if that did not work trading Kulemin might be worth it. True we would be much thinner on the bottom 6, but I think Franson is more important to our future, and we are lacking spaces for prospects to play in. Still, this is a shitty position Nonis has gotten himself into. I know many people will say its still early, but I imagine there will be minimal movement since teams aren't willing to take on salary due to the cap.

@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan Not to be too big of a buzz kill, but that was a real sleazy move on your part.

Haha thanks. I have betrayed the seriousness of The Toronto Maple Leaf with that post, however. Long may he be the guardian of the ACC.

First post. I will be devestated if these two, which have been mentioned, do not make it:

Anaheim: Emilio Estevez
LA Kings: the Burger King King or whatever he is called.
