Gudbranson? Shoots right, kills penalties, tough and from Ottawa (thumbs up). Seems like a Murray kind of guy. Although a Cowen-Gudbranson pairing sounds like death

@stefanjmueller For sure. It's been really exciting to watch all these young players develop and become more comfortable in the NHL over the past two years

Speaking of veterans losing Gonchar has hurt the team quite a bit.

@Nichols6thSens I agree. I find the 14-15-25 line to be too one-dimensional and lacking in play-making ability, which is what Condra could add. I like the idea of giving Condra tougher minutes too since he does so well on the bottom line, and is heavily relied upon on the PK.

I may be wrong because the OHL doesn't release TOI numbers, or maybe I just was paying more attention to him after being drafted, but I think one of the reasons why Ceci had a bit of a rough year with Ottawa was because he was overplayed. Some games it seemed like he was out there for over half the game, and looked completely gased. Not to mention he was with a new D partner this year who really wasn't the greatest.

Alfie knows Bogosian as well, as he used to work out with him. One question, if the Ducks are trading Schultz, what do you think of the idea of trading the 1st rounder for him?

@Nichols6thSens  @MelnyksHangovers at the same time, Butler was facing the 3rd easiest competition among regular forwards, unlike Greening, who faced the toughest. Although I don't like Greening in the top 6 because I feel like his greatest attribute, his defense, is best used in a bottom 6 role. I don't mind Butler coming back next year, because it reduces the risk of a prospect being rushed, who may not be much better than Butler is.

"[Then-Quebec-owner Marcel]Aubut let it be known that to get Daigle, the Nordiques would be willing to give up not just Forsberg's rights but a number of high-quality players. The gossip had it that even Sakic, at 23 the team captain and scoring leader, might be available. The same for Owen Nolan, the NHL's first draft choice in 1990. Forsberg, Sakic, Nolan, a couple of other NHL players, and perhaps $10 million - all for the rights to Alexandre Daigle"
