As someone who has been banned from many establishments in your life, I'm certain you know the difference between "banned" and just refused to distribute because it doesn't fit their expectations (whatever those are). This sounds like the latter to me, but the former does makes a better headline.
Unlike most other things people try to add onto refrigerators, this is actually useful and I could see myself using it. Is it that much more convenient than just using Evernote on my phone? I'm not sure. I guess the ability for kids or my wife (who doesn't cary her phone with her as habitually as I do) to add things to an Evernote list would be useful. But like you rightfully point out, this is just the beginning.
Facebook is the Microsoft Office of social media. 90% of its users will use 10% of its features. Most people won't ever do more than post updates, pictures and like things. Most users won't start a page or even upload videos, but because they have that feature, it keeps people from setting up a YouTube channel on the off chance they need to post a video. 90% of Facebook's features will be intended to be "good enough" to keep Facebook users from going elsewhere. They're not trying to gain new users.
A college intern said it best when (speaking of Instagram) she said "Why should I use another services when Facebook does it all?"
I think you have a headline typo: Scout vs Sprout. Scout was acquired by Lithium
Great post. There's definitely a point in, I think, most people's life where Ginsberg and most of the Beat Poets really become relevant and it seems to be in the late teens or early twenties.
Following you on Facebook, I know it's been a rough year for you, but it sounds like you have your priorities straight.
Personally, in the spirit of David Hume, I think there needs to be more essays in the World (they also seem easier to write). Most business books (present company excluded of course) would be just as insightful and probably more effective as an essay :)
Wow, thanks. Flattered to be on your list and to be a geek :)
Well I'm sad to see it go. Already following you everywhere else so I guess I'll see you on the internets.
Awesome! Social media according to Fugazi lyrics. Turning on some Fugazi on Spotify now. Thanks.
