That's pronounced icky-pod, right?
Hey, I've got a great idea: Let's make an unconventional 3 part case in gold then PVD parts of it and engrave it, then put the crown in an unusual spot, and make an unsymmetrical dial with crazy time telling features, and print the indices on the crystal, and make it a partial skeleton, and then print a flag on what's left, make a crazy buckle that looks like its from another watch, paint the backside bridges, put on a quad stitched white on black strap for a little pizzazz and... add spider webs - yeah cool!
Quit letting stoned 13 year-old design your stuff.
That's really cool, unique and appealing. I need to see it on my wrist, but 49mm sounds bigger than I'd like. 44mm is my sweet spot.
@nateb123 Well, let's see. I have solar powered atomic clock set watches that cost far less than $1000. Less than 300 actually. My cell phone can reset it'self via GPS location and it was $400, so I would expect that the technology is already in-play for much less than $3800.
You had me right up to the $2,300 - $3,850 USD part. :(
the crystal is neat - you can keep the rest.
It's interesting that you refer to them as youthful. I find them all looking "retro", dated, and a bit cheap looking. For $4000 I think they're about 20% overpriced. There are many more racing chrono's in that price range that I find more appealing. Yellow on black is the best of the bunch, but I can't live with the yellow Speedmaster script on the strap. And while the case back is classic Omega, what do seahorses have to do with motor sports?
When did Stevie Wonder become a brand ambassador?
Painful.
When I was a boy, we'd tour the Coca-Cola plant and at the end they'd give us a free Coke! No such luck here, I'll bet. Great article, and I envy your access to these places.
Is RSW an acronym for Really Stupid Watch? This makes the ridiculously large and overt Invictas look classy. Asking $3K for this is delusional.
Hey, look. a watch...
bichondaddyGreg S EDS?
Man, I just don't get the current FP Journe style ethos. This and their latest offerings are some of the ugliest high end watches out there. The whole tabs and screws thing with the stylized indices, especially in red, just look like crap. Adding loads of red doesn't make it "sportive", just goofy. You too Hublot!
Nice, matches my waistline :( $51,000 ?! Good Lord, why so freaking costly? $51K buys a lot of watch(es).
SamuelMarklew I'm not fussing about the price, what I'm saying is that among its cost peers, this is one damned ugly watch.
$200K ?! Do some comparisons in that price range and then buy this watch? Not on your life.
I have never been an AP fan, so i'm biased already. I simply don't get these. Yeah, 40th anniversary and all that, but these are a staid, old looking throwback in every aspect but price. I cannot see $17K here no matter how hard I try. To me it's just another waffle iron on a stop sign AP.
Nice to see Giles peeking in! I love the brand, however, this reminds me an awful lot of a Chopard Mille Miglia GMT. I see more "racing" watch than "pilots" watch in this design.
