Born in 1941, I remember the "communist under every bed" days of the republicans in the 1950s and while they were certainly nut jobs of the first order, the current crop of wing nut republicans make them look sane in comparison. The question is can the United States survive the intransigence of the republican party or is a "balkanization" of America in our near future?
