I find it ironic that people who complain about Westbrook being selfish are reveling in their own selfish desire to see KD do something great in the 4th rather than the team perform well throughout the game and playoffs.
@I'd Wink At Me @Stephen Jackson is not about this spelling I wonder if Hollins was just trying to bait us. I don't think (and from what I've heard, KD doesn't think) Durant posting up is very good for the team.
Everyone is giving Brooks too much of a pass on one thing. He's not being asked to win the West without Russ. He's being asked not to blow a 3-0 lead without Russ. And he's failing at that. *That* is a huge indictment against his coaching.
@NotSoAnnoyed @yehoshuagardner @Legendary_Dork Kinda to that point, I don't have a problem with either player, Beverley or KD, trying for the steal right before a timeout. I'm more frustrated with the officials. How was the Beverley play not a foul? Were Westbrook not calling a timeout it certainly would have been. They have to call that.
@Legendary_Dork @NotSoAnnoyed Ok, just watched it again, and Lin isn't in the "middle" of the court. However, I still think there's a legitimate difference. The way Beverley went for the steal, he had 0 chance of actually getting the ball; all he could do was poke it out of bounds. Lin is facing the middle, so Durant could have poked it out into the open court to actually get the steal. I do think Durant was just being a jerk, but a jerk who was actually trying to get the ball, unlike Beverley.
@Legendary_Dork @NotSoAnnoyed Also, Lin was in the middle of the court if I remember correctly. If he didn't want anybody close to his chest, he should have dribble to the side and protected his body from anyone coming close to him. Totally different situation when one player is in the middle of the floor and another is right on the sideline.
@anonymous12345 @yehoshuagardner @DanielLawler He can't put himself on the floor. Brooks has to do that.
@DanielLawler Reggie can creat his own shot. He was absurdly underused.

The whole team fell off throughout the game.
@TaoMaas I'm sorry, but you're not going to convince me that two lottery level talents can't sniff the floor (more than they barely did) but Pop can get meaningful minutes in high stakes games from Nando de Colo, Cory Joseph, and DeJuan Blair.
@Old Man Game @yehoshuagardner @ou_sas I didn't pay much attention this year because they sucked (and I was trying to finish up my degree). But a couple years ago they kept talking about "you don't win with rookies" and they were only talking about backing up JKidd.
@Old Man Game @yehoshuagardner @ou_sas Every role (defensive stopper; shooter; creator; screener; rebounder; blocker; post defender) has a reasonable replacement on the team. No, they won't be as good as the guy they're replacing, but they should at least be prepared to play. It works for the Spurs EVERY SINGLE FREAKING YEAR! It could work for us. (By the way, I live in Dallas and it irritates me that Carlisle does the same thing. Rookies don't get to play in OKC/Dallas.)
@ou_sas "Also, those who called for more of the Brookies: I guess this is a prime example of the maxim of "be careful of what you wish for.""
Actually, this situation is exactly why you give the rookies minutes in the regular season: so they're not shell-shocked at all of the sudden having to play. My biggest problem with Brooks is that *he* is completely unprepared (in that he hasn't prepared the team) to handle an injury. Pop is the polar opposite and it's why the Spurs are still so good with geriatric players that don't play half the time.
Can someone explain to me how Houston got so many dang rookies on their team? I count 7. How about a list with who drafted them and at what pick?
@FrancisOKC I don't think he's in danger of not taking *any* shots. He took 25 and had 8 free throws.
@OohWeeItsVelvetHoop Have to say: that time lapse is pretty lame compared to the Kings-Lakers-Clippers-Lakers-Kings-Clippers time lapse.
