You are so right! It's easier to blame a television network rather than the actors/actresses who willingly participate for the $$$.

3 weeks, 2 days ago on So…Street Harassment is Important Now That White Women Are the Focus?
I was thinking the same thing about the video. The difference is that when Jessica Williams did it, it was made to seem comical, of course because she is a comedian of some sort. Therefore, viewers did not feel as much empathy and they were laughing! However with the white/Hispanic woman who did the video, it was not portrayed as comical but as a serious matter of what many women have to deal with. If Jessica seriously addressed the issue the same way the other woman did, especially since Jessica's video was made before hers, it would have been exposed how much more dangerous, and far from comical, street harassment is for black women.

Tell him to exit stage left because the show is over. He's definitely toxic.

I'm definitely a pumpkin pie kind of girl. Growing up I always had sweet potatoe being that my relative's roots are in the south. However after my first slice of pumpkin pie, no sweet potatoe pie compares (except my grandmother's of course). If I had to choose, I would chose pumpkin pie.

I co-sign your last paragraph. I liked black guys when I was younger and my friends would often tease me about liking "those white and Chinese boys". I took no offense. When it came to the black guys I liked, they usually ended up choosing the light-skinned black girl with the long hair or the dark-skinned black girl with the body of a video vixen.
1 month, 1 week ago on QOTW: “Why Are Black Women So Hesitant to Date and Marry Non-Black Men?”
My favorite guy features are nice eyes, full lips and great smile, all which my hubby possess.
And unfortunately black women are still under that pressure. That would explain, in my opinion, that out of all groups of women who are in IRR's black women face the most criticism. People have a very difficult time and refuse to accept that we deserve to love and be loved by a quality man, regardless of what his color may be. They are PISSED that we are seeing through the lies and refuse to live our lives in a box.
Life is too short and we don't have time to convince.
The women are stunning

I'm also natural. My eyeshadows, blushes and lipsticks consist heavily of colors which are bold and accentuate my brown skin. I also like to wear brighter colored clothing which bring out my skin tone.
I've definitely heard of this movie. Considering watching it.

Thanks for sharing. A relationship built on stereotypes doesn't usually last.
I actually know a few Asian guys who dated/are married to black or hispanic women, who are dark skinned, and they have children, so it is happening. i took the bold step of suggesting to one of my sisters that she consider Asian men an option after several failed relationships with black men,
How old are you? Lol.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on If It Can Happen to Amber Rose…..Why That Marriage Certificate Makes All the Difference in the World
Getting married is a big deal and a huge responsibility. Perhaps in the eyes of society, couples who married and had children, even if they later divorced are viewed as having made an attempt at having an "in tact" family as opposed to taking the "easy way out" by simply living together and having children. But the thing is, if you are already living together as if you are a married couple, adding a ring to it shouldn't be that big of a deal. For many couples, a ring seals the deal of showing commitment to the person you want to be with as opposed to having that window of opportunity to pick up and leave. In my opinion, being called a "wife" and "husband" is respectable.

Yes and that constant changing and pursuing without It being returned is a HUGE turn off.
Thank you! I had an unpleasant look on my face this morning after coming home from working an overnight shift and being exhausted, I went to buy groceries only to find out after standing in line and swiping my card that it wasn't working. I then had to literally run home, get another card and run back to the grocery store in the pouring rain. Needless to say I wasn't interested in smiling.
I remember smiling at a man in a grocery store as we made eye contact when we walked past each other and he gave me the DEATH stare!!!
EXACTLY! The last sentence you wrote hit the nail on the head: the fact that there seems to be a double standard with facial expressions when it comes to bw but an exception when it's a non-bw. It's frustrating. Once people begin to realize that they have double standards, they may begin to realize that maybe they need to change their way of thinking. Any woman is approachable if you go about it the right way.
I hear you NY man. Perhaps it would be so kind as to inquire about how our day is going. In most cases, bw don't walk around with miserable looks on their faces for no reason. It could be that their day was going well but along the way they got street harassed while walking and now they are upset.
I appreciate your comment but what I'm curious about is why a bw rejecting a wm once ruins the chance for approaching another bw where as if a wm is rejected by a non-bw, it's just "her loss, on to the next one".
I believe that those women who may feel threatened by us fall into at least two categories: those who feel entitled to what we have and those who feel that we don't deserve the best, causing them to become jealous and upset when we get it. Remember, we were supposed to eat the crumbs thrown from the table and be happy with them, not actually have a sit down seat and receive a full plate.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Video: Are Black Women Who Swirl a THREAT to White Women?
I'd be pissed. Ignoring the problem will not set things straight. Addressing it will. If Rob really cares about Twigs, he will protect her and tell those racist beasts to eff-off. So far, I'm not pleased with his lack of response and am waiting for the crickets to stop chirping. I'm sure he tells her that he loves the person she is and what other people say doesn't matter however he needs to also let commenters know that he will not tolerated their vitriol.

Unfortunately People Magazine doesn't know how to act when someone surpasses THEIR achievable level of success and wealth.
