Looking good. I like the turquoise monokini above. I think it's the ruffles.

I had water with lemon a few days ago and it was pretty refreshing. I'm not a fan of like though. Don't like the bitter aftertaste.

I hope the rumor isn't true. If it is, oh well. What baffles me is how a couple can be together for years, get married and then divorce within a year. Makes no sense. There is much truth to the statement that a couple's relationship changes after marriage.
What is the name of the petal pink lipstick the model above is wearing? It's very beautiful.

Benedict doesn't owe us anything. Times are different now meaning that opportunities to succeed and move up in life are within reach. It's up to us to make that happen, not up to an actor.

Preach Conor! The truth is that being with a black woman could be a challenge, not because of her but because of the people who think that speaking their minds is more important than keeping their mouths closed and minding their business. If you are not prepared to stand your ground, defend and protect the woman you are with, let her go so that she can find someone who will. She may be hurt in the beginning but trust me, you will be doing HER a favor.

Chris, thank you. No offense but we need men, not boys. I agree with everything you said. No need to beat around the bush. Sometimes straight talk is the first step towards a reality check.
Congrats to the couple!

I've had these bears before and I haven't had a problem, mostly likely because I only eat a handful of them over a period of days. They are definitely delicious!

Being on break doesn't translate to seeing other people unless it is mutually agreed upon. I would've felt betrayed.
I also know that what you addressed in your first paragraph is why a lot of black women stoop to man-sharing (searching for water where there is a drought) and competition with each other as opposed to looking for greener pastures.
Ah, the desperation women will let themselves go through when their eyes are closed.
Congrats to Eve! I'm seriously loving that bottom picture with her and the Christmas tree. Maybe it's her red lipstick.

He's a black athlete and they don't have a reputation for being faithful.
Knowing who Chinua is, this was probably written in the 70's or 80's. But it still rings ever so true.
Like they say: the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
Wow! RIP, Chinua.
Furthermore it seems like the more strides we make the more haters we create. I'm just speaking in general.

Hubs and I were thinking about entertaining guest for New Years Eve. These sticky wings are definitely going to be on the menu!
6 months, 4 weeks ago on Chef Bob: Honey Chipotle Sticky Baked Wings
So that's the trick: to cook the wings first! I'm definitely going to try this because usually, I would bake the wings with the sauce only to have the wings not come out sticky like I wanted. Baking the wings uncovered won't dry them out? Usually when I bake chicken, I cover it with either aluminum foil or put it into a casserole dish to maintain its juciness.
@Christelyn @socalsands Me neither! I can see how someone who is already not motivated to lose weight may just want to throw in the towel due to a feeling of hopelessness.
7 months ago on New Study Suggests Black Women Have a Harder Road to Weight Loss Than White Women
@CS @Brownie123 Cortisol may affect weight gain because some people (like myself from time to time) consume less healthy foods when stressed. I have noticed that when I am feeling extremely stressed (work, school, etc.) I will consume more unhealthy sugars in the form of junk food, then feel bad afterwards (especially if I can't make it to the gym to work it off). I know that it is an issue but it is a habit I will continue working on as there is no benefit in the end.
@phillychick My sentiments exactly. I am annoyed that these studies tend to focus on black women and white women as if no other women exist in the world. Compare other women for a change.
@Savannah1811 Smells like a case of hateration to me.
@Dandelion100 @naturalbeauty1 Yeah, I've been noticing a lot more of these black-women-falling-short studies. I'm quite tired of them.
@Brenda55 @Christelyn @CS No way I would try it. As a slim woman, I like to eat!
@Maxine @BrittanyW @tosinubi Ok. Six months is a significant enough time.
@tosinubi YES! My questions exactly.
@BrittanyW @tosinubi If the study would have said, "Of the participants in the study, it was found that...", then I would not be as skeptical to agree with it. However I would still want to know how they were monitored and if they were completely honest about their diet and exercise outside of the study. Maybe that is the Social Sciences major in me. As a Social Science major, I want to know the who, what, where, when, why and how of things.
@CS @Maxine I wouldn't necessarily say that the study is discouraging black women from losing weight but that losing weight would take more effort from black women. Even within the black population, we have different metabolisms.
