So I guess no one watches The Neighbors? Even though it features ABC's other bw/wm couple? Hilarious show. Toks Ologundoye should be nominated for an Emmy.
My must-see drama is Elementary.
Not really. Notice how he prefaced his remarks by calling her brilliant, dedicated and tough. He was not belittling her accomplishments. Yet all people focus in on is the passing remark about her looks.
Someone on another board mentioned that the President's remarks possibly had something to do with the fact that there are more male Attorneys General than female, and what he meant by the comment was something like, "Not only is she all you'd want in an Attorney General, she's also a lot better looking than you guys." His White House Press Corp Dinner monologue will be far more polished. In fact, I predict he will make light of this incident when he delivers his jokes.
If Joe Biden had done this everyone would roll their eyes and go, "Oh, Joe....." But because it's Obama then it must be DRAMA!!!SCANDAL!!!!CLUTCH THE PEARLS!!!
Is it scandalous to mention the obvious?
His foes don't wait for a reason to create rumors/scandals. They're always trying to make stuff up about the President and Michelle.

The situation reminds me of Billy Campbell and Sela Ward when they starred in Once and Again. They had steamy chemistry. So much so that fans wondered if they were more than just friends and if Sela's husband should be worried.
From interviews, it was obvious Billy had a bit of a crush on Sela. And Sela seemed to appreciate Billy a lot. But because they acknowledged the chemistry, they were able to get beyond it and just be close friends.
But not all pistols and handguns would be banned under Feinstein's bill. Also, it seems all weapons lawfully purchased before the bill is enacted could be kept. The notion that the government is planning to seize everyone's firearms is ludicrous. But from a marketing standpoint, it is a clever way to increase gun industry profits.
I'm glad Feinstein proposed a bill that has some bite. Initial proposals should be ambitious. Hopefully, the final version of the legislation won't be too watered down and the pro-gun rights people will have brought some legitimate suggestions to the table.
Oh heck, they'll probably keep shouting about a coming dictatorship and romanticizing the notion of gun battles.
The weapon she used to defend herself wasn't an automatic assault rifle, was it? Did she use more than 10 rounds to subdue the abuser?
I have heard nothing about taking away people's hand guns. I have heard about banning automatic assault weapons and limiting a clip to 10 rounds.
I will say the GF was very responsible and was faced with a threatening situation. Some people aren't. I'm thinking about the Florida man who shot some black youth at a gas station because they wouldn't turn their car stereo down.
So Ward thinks that if slaves had the right to own firearms then there would have been no slavery? Well if they had been given human rights period then there wouldn't have been slavery. And maybe if slave owners didn't have guns then that would have also made slavery harder to enforce. Right, Mr. Ward?
I don't watch reality television, and this is just another good reason why. Sell your soul to TLC and forget about the GED. Yessir, TV will transform your life better than a winning lotto ticket. You'll have fame and money and all the free stuff sponsors can provide and promote. But class? Yeah, maybe if the producers think that would make a good narrative. Respect? Listen, VH1 found out that cat fights make the audience happy, so learn how to binge drink and find a stunt wig, bro-kay?
Seriously, if you want to watch entertaining reality television with good role models then you should start subscribing to YouTube vlogs. Vlogs are actual reality programs. There are some funny, pleasant everyday people who actually share something pleasant with their audience. The Nive Nulls are a great vlog to follow. There is also mokobrownvegan. I could list others featuring black women.
Forget about VH1, Oxygen or TLC doing the black upper and middle class any favors. If Chris would like to promote positive images of black women as well as IR couples then perhaps she could have a "BBW Media Link" portion on the sidebar. Fill it with long running vlogs as well as the WebTV series. Just a suggestion.
Polls are all over the place. Registered voters or likely voters...the exact demographic of the people questioned.
I read polls where Romney is up and others where Obama is up.
Nate Silver's 538 blog currently has Obama's chances of winning at 65.7. And Obama seems to be way ahead in early voting polls in key swing states.
I'm curious to read the polls over the weekend, many which will take post second debate opinions into account.
@ironcowboy loud voices...making noise....in news media bubbles....
@ironcowboy Well darn, judging by the stressed out look on Ann Romney's face after the debate, I guess she was was part that 47.8% who thought her husband played the role of Coyote to Obama's Roadrunner.
And those students of socialist economics are such a large, powerful voting group....
Joe Biden spanked Paul Ryan. If you wanted to see an older man spanking a younger man any harder then you'd have to rent a gay porno.
Joe Biden wasn't just laughing at Paul Ryan's half truths and Budget Math of Make Believe. He was laughing at the 8% approval rated GOP House of Representatives and the spin wizards at FOX that have played up Ryan's reputation as a numbers whiz and a visionary.
Want to knock the smirk off Joe's face, Mr. Ryan? Okay, then you're going to have to be more than just rehearsed about foreign policy. Maybe you could've asked to borrow Dick Lugar's brain. Ah, but your Tea Party DNA would probably reject it. And I'm sorry, but the hypocrisy concerning the stimulus was just too easy not to laugh at. I swear if you read Biden's lips, at one point he says, "You're full of it."
What would have made the debate even better for me is if Biden had somehow managed to switch Ryan's drinking glass with a dribble glass.
@QueenOfThePen Of course I'm going to make my voice heard. I plan on voting.
And I wasn't singling you out when I said "taxpayers". Maybe I could have said "voters" but that's the problem. A lot of people who should be voting don't vote. Or they'll get all upset and refuse to vote to send the party a "message". But, oh boy, you can't stop them about talking about change. They just want it immediately. They have no stamina.
Real change takes time. It's legislation, not microwave popcorn.
Sadly, too many taxpayers don't have the stamina for it.
Yes, your article from March 2009 references how bad things had been under George W and the first couple months of the Obama administration. (He didn't take office until January 2009). But how about the rest of 2009? 2010? 2011? And so far in 2012? My understanding is that after job hemorrhaging in 2009 had stopped there has been a slow uptick in the number of jobs created since then. Perhaps slower growth than anyone would like, but growth nonetheless.
Additionally, blaming GWB for the failure of the Obama administration is like blaming slavery for so many Blacks killing each other in the Black community.
Sorry, but that's not a strong comparison. One involves a political administration following right after the previous one had ended and dealing with the financial meltdown that happened on their watch. And the other is a shameful social institution abolished in the nineteenth century and its effects on contemporary black-on-black crime.
Sure, there was some initial finger pointing (and richly deserved) but Obama has taken responsibility and accountability for the current economic situation. Perhaps he could have done better touting his successes and policies, such as his tax breaks. And listening to interviews with the author of "The New New Deal", Obama's stimulus program kept the nation out of depression and is more of a longterm for our country's future and infrastructure.
But, yes, I believe if both politicians and small business owners should hold themselves up for personal accountability. As both a voter and employee there have been many times when each have tried screwing me over.
Classic. Dems make a statement aimed at the 1%, and the 1% turn to the small business owners say, 'Look what those liberal snobs said about you hard working folk!" And then they sit back and hope to spin their way into the legislatures.
Of course the government doesn't build. But do small business owners create legislation, declare war, enforce regulations like food safety, etc.? Thank goodness, the government doesn't build anything because that provides some small business with the opportunity to get government contracts, loans and grants. Those small business guys in Romney's ad expressing outrage about what was claimed Obama said? Reporters discovered that government grants and contracts helped them build their businesses.
I would have to see the stats behind the claim that more businesses went belly up during the Obama administration. During the early months, the economy was hemorrhaging jobs, several hundred thousand a month due to the mortgage meltdown that happened during George W's watch. I would like to know how many of the businesses were a result of that and perhaps poor business plans and not just taxes.
I guess I'm just a little too dumbfounded by her statement. Seriously, she would put a cat turd in her mouth?
Forget the sex. I couldn't even think about kissing someone who would eat a cat turd.
But on the other hand, I wouldn't mind watching a white guy make a pass at her just to see if she'd reach in her purse and pull out a cat turd.
Law WanxiJamiladasdbobbMonnDutch Yes, aging nuclear reactors. There was a couple incidents a few years ago of radioactive material getting into the local water supply.
That first picture looks like a scene from a movie.
She also has a very sweet video about how her rainbeau proposed to her in Paris.

My dream IRR blockbuster would be a romcom, a Love Actually sort of film telling multiple stories about interracial love (some funny and others bittersweet).
I see IRR possible in other film genres as well, such as mystery and science fiction (I can imagine an IRR steam punk story) And if I can, I think Hollywood should too.
As far as ideal songs on my IR soundtrack. I have a whole catalog of songs for imagined story scenes and music videos.
It depends on the setting or mood. A scene where the white guy hesitates approaching the bw love interest, or telling her how he feels? "I Don't Wanna Fall in Love" by Ken Yates.
Romantic angst, where the couple knows they should part, but they can't. They're too deep in one another's hearts. "Poison and Wine" by the Civil Wars.
Infatuation? "You Look So Fine" by Garbage.
Lust? "Bad Boyfriend" by Garbage.
Of course, I'd really love a film, contemporary or set in forties or fifties, with songs like "Round Midnight" or "Stardust"
