I like that punk version of Oklahoma. I know it's a local band that plays it though it sounds an awful lot like Bowling for Soup. If anyone knows where I can get a copy of that song lemme know.

Isn't Doctor Thunder the ghetto walmart brand of Dr. Pepper?

Not at all. 9 games in the NBA is a blip on the radar. Look how quickly the narrative around Eric Maynor changed (which was as much about his confidence and court rhythm as it was his injury). If you focus solely on a players hot streak rather than his entire body of work you wind up with Lin-sanity.

Usually Russ goes out early so that he can come back in when Durant is ready to sit. Wouldn't that make Reggie our 6th man? Reggie doesn't have much more of a resume than Lamb at this point but he should certainly have the confidence going into the season.

I remember there being a discussion on the ESPN board when Love was on the bench behind Jefferson in Minnesotta and a Wolves fan recommended a trade of Love for Jeff Green. I was the only Thunder fan for it. Lord how I don't miss the ESPN boards.
They announced during their last podcast that they were leaving thescore.com next season (I think for the Grantland network). That was part of the reason they weren't continuing the "blank" jones in the offseason.
Congratulations to any Divorce Lawyer DTers, even if you're still in the closet... they're the real winners in todays decision.

Had we gotten completely destroyed it probably wouldn't be as bitter a loss. Continually coming so close to have the rug snatched out from under us makes things sting a lot more.

Patrick Beverly... Memphis MVP.
Collison was victimized by bad calls and despite improving his offense throughout the season Thabo was never given any respect by his teammates on the offensive end of the court often getting overlooked when he had open shots. If youre wanting to assign blame then Nick and Thabo are WAYYYYY down the list.

Nick played fine when he was allowed to play. He was a victim of the refs desperate need to justify the hype of Gasol/Randolph.
The officiating in this series was horrible which doesn't bode well for the teddy bears. They won't get EVERY 50/50 call their way the way it went this series. They also won't be able to blatanly hold Lebron off the ball the entire 4th quarter the way they did Durant.
The NBA may want to hype Conley so that they can have another "big 3" to compete with the Heat but I came away from this series seriously unimpressed with Memphis. Can you imagine Perkins with Randolphs lone offensive move of throwing his face and elbows directly into the defenders chest every play without feigning to take an actual shot? And they complain about the rip move? HA!
There's been a lot of talk about Conley being a top 5 PG? No way in hell. That goes Paul, Westbrook, Rose, Irving, and any of Parker/Curry/Rondo/others. Conley might be top 10 but top 5 is just getting caught up in propoganda and hype.
Brooks needs to grow a pair and defend his guys on the court with the refs. Would he not have gotten a HUGE ovation last night had he not showed some emotion and gotten a tech?
Martin should have been more involved in this series. Whether that's a failure of his not being aggressive enough, Durant trying to force too much or Brooks just not having control of his teams "offensive system". If he wants more than 6-7M this offseason I'm fine with letting him walk. The one area that Brooks has shown to excel in is helping players develop and with Lamb and a lottery pick in the wing Martin could be expendable.
What was the point of trading for Corey Brewer if he was never going to see the court? He could have given the Durant some much needed rest so he wasn't always so fatigued in the 4th.
OKC's offense was pretty well broken even with Westbrook.
But Russ was undeniably our best improvisor and fed on chaos when things broke down.

I said it in the last thread and will repeat it here:
If Macklemore is really all that upset about people taking things that don't "belong" to them then he should feel free to return his entire persona to the black community.
Seriously though I'm kinda mad about them playing his song before Thunder games as well. The first time it was kinda cute and kitschy. Every subsequent time it just got more and more annoying.
A memphis fan complaining about the rip through is rich... Whereas Durant uses it maybe once or twice a game with long arms and quick hands Randolph does it almost every time he touches the ball. Randolph just lowers his head and throws his forearms and monkey face into the defender without any actual attempt to put a shot up. (Monkey face isn't meant to be a racial slur. Randolph just looks far too much like Curious George. Especially when he smiles.)

Being held off of every screen and hacked on every jump shot tends to keep an offense from being fluid.
So would I but I would have the good sense to not pound my chest, act like a jackass, and pretend it couldn't have easily gone the other way.
Russell out, Officiating leaning their way, Thunder struggling shooting the ball and the Grizzlies STILL can't clearly seperate themselves from the Thunder. I don't know what Memphis fans have to troll about.
90% of them had never watched a basketball game before so they were genuinely surprised to find out how bad the officials really are.
If Macklemore is really all that concerned about people taking things that don't belong to them he should feel free to return his entire identity to the black community.
