@RRRWHATEVER I'm borderline pusching for Toronto to make the playoffs so the pick will roll over.
@OBoy Jones III The smile when he's asked that question is what sells me. If the idea of being here long term puts a smile like that on his face, well that's not nothing.
@cemitten I see. It's funny how the numbers on that first airport gathering have been blown up over time. I swear there were like 40 people there, 60 max.
@cemitten @#sheem @justin_mia I have become a bit of a lurker. I finally learned enough to realize I didn't actually have much meaningful to contribute to the conversation usually.
@#sheem @justin_mia It's an old saying that basically means you're creating a false dichotomy.Usually walking to work and taking your lunch are not mutually exclusive things, so setting them up that way is silly. Similarly Ibaka could need to improve his defense AND Harden could be a bad defender.
@justin_mia @Thunder S Justin. What's your opinion on when we can say the Thunder's elite defense is a real thing and not an illusion? We still have lots of fundamental problems that are obvious while watching that game, but statistically we're probably performing as well as we have since the first half of the 2009-10 season. In some ways it seem remarkable that this team can play such good defense while still making so many obvious mistakes, but whether that's a byproduct of the weak strength of schedule or the team's unusual length and athleticism I'm not sure.
Just want to bring up in this thread that I support Darnell Mayberry embracing the Wolverine nickname for Westbrook. Really hope that catches on, as I've been a proponent of it for a while. Allows for "popping the claws", "feral rage", "bub", and "best there is at what he does" references.
I am hyped. Darnell Mayberry quoted my tweet and used the Wolverine nick name for Westbrook last night. Finally my plans are coming to fruition.
@justin_mia I'm impressed if we can maintain a top 5 defense even when playing with disinterest. Do you think it's a fluke, or are we really that good defensively now?
@EternalThunder @KellOne Lets not get catty.
So at what point do we look to coaching as an explanation for the disparity in how these players we traded away or traded for are playing in OKC vs their on other teams? Green hasn't really played any better outside of OKC, and Harden might be natural progression + more minutes. But the fact that Cole looks better in Houston (granted small sample size) and that Perkins has been worse on OKC than Boston makes me wonder if we some how have systemic problem with big men in OKC.
lol texas
to basketball as Icebergs are to the Titanic.
@Jooseppi I'm okay with Aldrich getting extended minutes. It looks like he's going to be the backup center, so I want him to get all the time he can.
People are taking this game way too seriously. Caring about pre-season games is something you have to give up once you've made the finals I think.
