Time for a goalie change.  Bernier is on his game and the tank cannot have that.

Andy Strickland reported this afternoon that GM Don Maloney of the Arizona Coyotes wouldn't mind players with term coming back as they need centers.

So give them Bozak and Kessel for 2015 first, Yandle, Max Domi and Christian Dvorak. Draft Mitch Marner with that pick (unless it wins the lottery).. I might also be convinced to add Nashville's first for another young D or additional pick or prospect.

@mlclearwater The LA first is conditional. 2015 if they make the playoffs, 2016 if not. In short, lottery protected.

@djamon @Eye of the Tiger I disagree, getting somone to take Jokinen will be hard, but adding Sill could get someone to bite. Both are cheap rentals and Sill could be added to an AHL roster if needed and his entire cap hit swallowed.

Now that we also have Sill as an UFA, he could also be packaged as fourth line energy guy ( the role he was playing in Pittsburgh).. Jokinen for a 3rd or 4th or Jokinen and Sill for a 2nd or Third. The same could apply to pairing Booth and Sill.  Otherwise send Sill to the Marlies to add some grit for their playoff run and bring up Leivo or Frattin.

By moving Winnick and with the Sekera move as well, the interest in Jokinen, Booth, Holzer and Polak should increase.  Pittsburgh making this move will cause more than a few in the East to consider making a pitch. Also as Winnipeg is feeling the pressure, perhaps they will take Lupul off our hands.

@Cameron19 @leafmealone @Eye of the Tiger They need a headliner to sell tickets after buying the franchise. Kessel, a team USA stallwart and top 10 scorer is just the ticket to sell tickets in Arizona.

@nrandreycharles @Eye of the Tiger Yandle stop gap as signed for another year at 5.25m.. could be traded in off season or at 2016 trade deadline.  Arizona needs to dump money to take on Kessel's salary.  Kessel alone is worth two high prospects and a first. Arizona gets its premier ticket seller and scorer and still gets a first rounder to refill cupboard.  Domi and Dvorak are two thirds of a great young line, add Nylander or Connor Brown and enjoy the next ten years.

@Bigfoot_for_1C @Eye of the Tiger  Don't be too sure. They need cap room, have a great need for an offensive defenseman as they have lots of bangers but no movers other than Streit (even the minors is bare of puck movers). Franson gives the one this year, and Percy either late in year or next.  They are the opposite of us, they have young forwards but limited young defense. We have young defense but limited centres.  This is a real hockey trade. You need to give up to get.  Our advantage is we can send them cap for this year ( Orr and $1milllion) and Laughton-Holland fill your 3-4 centre with a low budget vet as back up.

Flyers are looking to dump salary so let me suggest the following.

Franson, Percy and Orr to Philadelphia for Brayden Coburn and Scott Laughton

Flyers dump Coburn's salary ($4.5 x 2) in exchange for Franson (3.0) and Orr (925K)  and they can dump Orr into the minors and save the cap.... total savings 1.5 million, Leafs dump excess weight (Orr) and move a right hand offensive defenseman for another strong stay at home body (either the 1b to help Phaneuf or play 2b and allow Robidas to side Phaneuf)

The price for the cap relief is an exchange of top level prospects.  Flyers get a young puck moving defenseman with potential to develop into top 4 defense, Leafs get a young centre with potential to develop into solid 2-3 centre

In order to make this work, I would even consider adding a low level prospect, a late pick or cash (1 million) to entice the Flyers to bite.

I hate giving up Percy but Laughton could be something special and now is the time to strike while Philly is cap challenged.
