@DanielLawler @FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] Julio might put up better numbers than Megatron, but under no circumstances is he a better player. Julio has a better QB, a more stable organization and better weapons around him to take the pressure off.

@tygablood @FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @DanielLawler You sound like you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to football. Alabama wasn't a true test for Virginia? David Tyree was an overpaid scrub WR? Game managers don't win Super Bowls?

@DVoegeli But is he worth the max? While I understand why they didn't want to give Harden the max, if they're gonna pay another wing player that much, I'd rather Harden than Jackson by a long shot.

@L0rv Fisher shot 38% on under three attempts a game last year, Allen shot 38% on over four attempts a game. One of them is widely considered the greatest shooter of all time. If we're just talking shooting, I'll stick with Allen.

@Legendary_Dork @dollarbillrussell @TempBoy Brandon I don't even know what I'd say the best film was this year. Her and The Master were probably the last two great movies I saw. I'm still blown away by how good the Fargo series was.

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#StartLambFaction] @ThunderWins @Crow I don't understand why everyone is sleeping on Golden State. They had one of the best defenses in the league last season and a wealth of offensive players, with a coach that ran no system. As long as the defense can stay elite, and with Kerr implementing an actual system, that team will be scary. I think it will be OKC, SAS, GSW at the top of the West.

@King of Carrot Flowers the third TL;DR I felt like they took an extremely complex and intelligent show and completely dumbed it down, while leaving a ton of questions unanswered, so that everything could end neatly.

@King of Carrot Flowers the third I'c currently at work at the hospital where any hospital scenes were supposed to have taken place. However, I never heard anything about them filming at Lafayette General, so I'm guessing they filmed somewhere else and then edited the signs on.

@King of Carrot Flowers the third The show turned from a dark, twisted slow burner into a CSI Miami episode where everything fell into place. McConaughey's character completely abandoned what he'd spent the entire series being. They explained absolutely nothing about the religious cult aspect, for instance, like why that black lady would start freaking out just form the name Carcosa. How had so many people bought into this religious ideology? And seriously, the bad guy ends up being some random dude that was only in the series for 15 seconds up to that point? I understand going for the surprise aspect, but they spent the entire show crafting this extremely detailed mystery, only to seemingly throw it all out of the window in favor of shock value.

If you want to know why people didn't like the final episode, just search for "True Detective finale" on Google. Here's a few examples from an article in The Atlantic:

  • So all that stuff with Marty’s daughter Audrey was just … coincidence? Or a red herring? A way of suggesting that there’s capital-E Evil like whatever went down at Carcosa but also run-of-the-mill perversion that harms kids all the time? Then why have her set up those figurines in precisely that way?
  • We’re supposed to believe that Dora Lange was not just one of Errol’s victims, but was taught about someone called the Yellow King and read passages from Robert Chambers’s The King in Yellow? That’s some pretty involved mythology swirling around that ended up being essentially irrelevant to the case’s resolution.
  • Was that tangent involving former CID colleague Steve Geraci important in any way to solving the case? Please tell me it wasn’t there just for the cynical purpose of having a character insist he was just doing his job, “chain of command,” blahedy-blah.
  • So Rust was depressed and possibly prepared for suicide as he entered this final showdown. But now, despite the heartbreak of feeling he was denied a spiritual reunion with his daughter, despite the guilt of knowing he ran across the killer 17 years ago and that an untold number of victims died since then, now things are different and he can live with himself. Because…?

Once again, I don't think it ruined the series, it was still really good. However, I spent the first seven episodes thinking that it was possibly the best show I'd ever seen, to simply feeling let down by the ending. Don't spend an entire season building up complexity and a distinct atmosphere if you're just going to drop it all the final episode to wrap everything up neatly. I feel like it would've served them well to stretch it another 2-4 episodes and give a little more explanation.
