@DanielLawler @Old Man Game @cemitten @greatwhitebuffalo  I know I thought that too. I wanted so badly watching that for someone to bury a pickaxe in Fassbender's head. I think, unfortunately, anyone who had the nerve to try that or lead a revolt was singled out and killed sooner or later. Everyone else I'm sure lived in such fear after seeing the example made that they dared not speak up.

@DanielLawler @cemitten @greatwhitebuffalo  While there were some differences from one individual slaveholder to another [and the movie essentially depicts that with Cumberbatch's character being at least nicer relative to Fassbender's sadistic character], the overall regime was maintained with savage brutality. Otherwise those people would have all said, "hey, I don't want to pick this cotton unless you pay me."

Finally got around to watching 12 Years a Slave. What a powerful and important movie. Reminded me of Schindler's List just in terms of reminding us of humanity's unfortunate tragic capacity to commit evil upon others based on arbitrary lines.

Not that I necessarily agree, but for the sake of argument, do we really expect to get better every single season. I think this franchise has had a ridiculously charmed life up till the last 12 months. We were due for a let down of sorts.

After this, revisiting the top 5 coaches debate from last night, Brooks could take a seat behind... Randy Whittman.

Ha ha, never thought of it but now I won't be able to think of "whose ball is it" any other way. "Whose a good fan? Whose a good fan? That's right, you are!"

Brooks uses KD similar to how most people drive a rental car.

Jeez, you're really obsessed with stats aren't you? I was more concerned with losing winnable games than how KD was shooting the ball, his win shares, per, etc.

Thankfully, in the nba you're only ever 1 game away from snapping a losing streak or streak of poor play and starting something good.

@jooseppi I mean if all we wanted was what Dennis mentioned then pretty clearly those guys are better at the moment than Adams. Instead we got a guy who was supposed to be a project with room to get better.

@Jooseppi @Old Man Game @Sustainable Parameters  I think Presti picked Adams because he was the high upside guy on the board. Of everyone he, in theory, had the best chance if he panned out to be star or quasar. Lot of pressure to get someone really good and not just a role player if that was the centerpiece of the Harden trade.

@Sustainable Parameters  Yeah but Dieng and Plumlee can already do those things. That's my point. Why wait?

@Julius F Wrek @Sustainable Parameters  Hope he's got a big summer of workouts planned. Maybe he'll stay in the states and work out with other NBA bigs. It'd be great is he could work with Drummond maybe.

@[brooks' fault] @Sustainable Parameters  I bet Prestie was hoping for better than that though. Otherwise why not pick a guy who could be ready to contribute more right away like Dieng or Plumlee. We're going to be waiting on a guy who's ceiling is a NBA journeyman?

@Navidson  You know that's a good point. I think I will also. All I remember from last season is beating Charlotte by like 200 points and then Russ hurting his knee. The rest is a blur.

@shiki @Old Man Game @[brooks' fault] @Thunder S  Okay, KD and Serge then. KD and Reggie Jackson. Pretty much KD and any above average player is better than what 80% of the league has at their disposal.

@[brooks' fault] @Thunder S  Let's be real. There might be several coaches in the league better at Xs and Os. But we'd never know because those guys don't have KD and Russ.

Wow, Drummond is an animal. I'd kill to have a player like that on our team.

As far as the game, this team's defense is so bad they couldn't shut down windows XP.

@El Prez @DanielLawler  Yeah, but Dieng is an eventual replacement to Perkins (eventual as in very soon if he were here), i.e. a starter. So that should in theory be more valuable. Then again, Plumlee could probably replace Perkins too.

@kiwi_thunder  I wonder how long this dude can stay in the NBA. He's obviously terrible. But just big enough and just passable enough he may be able to stick around at least another season or so before he packs his bags for Turkey.

@Julius F Wrek  Because years of playing with Perkins have left them the impression they can't throw lobs to a center.

2 days, 15 hours ago on Kevin Durant is, without question, the 2013-14 MVP

@El Prez @Old Man Game  I think Brooks' scheme of switching everything along with overconfidence in Serge's ability to erase their mistakes leads to lackadaisical effort in denying dribble penetration, which in turn leads to guys having to help frequently and then recover to the perimeter which wears them out leading to a lack of effort.
