Great post Mike - I'm trying to squeeze the iOS minimalism effect as well & work entirely on an iPad mini when I'm away from my iMac + office @ home. It's forcing (or perhaps funnelling) me, in a  good way, to redefine what work actually is & what productivity now means to me + my clients. Again, thx for the great post √

@mikevardy@JeffaCubed Either "great minds think alike, or simple minds seldom differ" on the Thesis framework "where-to-hang-ones-hat" piece! As for Northern Voice - as long as I'm in Vancouver during that time, I plan to be there this year! I've even thought about presenting at NV on some of the cool & interesting (& profitable) things I've learned/discovered around harnessing WordPress Multisite + Language Localization to produce fully multilingual, multisite weblog ecosystems. Other than that, I'm working on recording/producing one-original song + video / month for all of 2012. Will check in from time to time to see the evolution happenin' here at vardy.me √

Write on,

Good choice Mike on the Genesis framework + the renewed vision | scope for your webog! I too have been using Thesis for quite some time (~2008) on all own my own personal, business, client projects - and I've been doing some serious thinking recently around making a major WPress framework shift. One the one hand, Thesis is very stable, powerful & customizable (I'm a stronger custom_coder than a savy_weblogger!) - yet the devolving relationship between Wordpress (Matt) and Thesis (Chris) is of serious concern to me. Equally, Thesis does not exactly play well with mobile platforms / OS's out-of-the-box, and it's anyone's guess when/if the Thesis team will address that "opportunity". I enjoy readin' yer stuff, and often direct clients to your site an excellent example of a well crafted & thoughtfully written web.log.

Thumbs^^,

Jeff

You're welcome Lisa. I've experienced many of the same/similar *risk warnings* via my own immediate family + global colleagues. Thumbs^^ -JA, WestCoast

Wise + thoughtful words. One of the biggest risks, is in insulating oneself & career from the magnetic benefits of good risk(s). Thanks for writing + sharing that piece Lisa G
