Hard to prove that when they aren't playing.

@King of Carrot Flowers the KA KAW I'm great!
5 days, 9 hours ago on Pacers withstand Westbrook’s career night, 116-104
Recap is up, for those interested. Thanks for your patience.
@Westbrook is Overrated *Tvaddic* Almost went with "Kevin Durant had foot surgery but you'll never believe what happened next."

Nobody was mad at Russ. It was the Thunder's PR staff for allowing that situation to happen. Russ did what he was supposed to do.
Fans might not care about that, but the vast majority absolutely want to hear what he has to say after games. Maybe not you, but most do.
1 week, 3 days ago on Spurs push the Thunder’s season to the brink, 113-88
That is such a lie
I should've really taken the spirit of the question and had No. 2 as Durant hits the shot and gets the call for an and-1 to win the game. That would've been better.
2 weeks, 1 day ago on What Thunder play would you change?
Single game ratings are not wise to use. Very deceptive.
@hairyjavelin (formerly unclefester) @Royce Young @ThunderYo
Nah. Just NSFW.
2 weeks, 2 days ago on Mavs out-offense the Thunder, 135-131
@ThunderYo He posted one picture and claimed it was an accident. I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
A day later, he posted another. No more grace.
Don't post porn. It's pretty simple.
@KetelOne Ooooh, didn't even think of that. Fair point.
2 weeks, 3 days ago on KD on OKC: ‘I would love to get my jersey retired here’
@KetelOne Well, it posted on ESPN.com tonight, so I figured I might as well do it here as well.
@Daft_Drunk Sorry, just got back to the hotel. What are they?
2 weeks, 5 days ago on Thunder eclipse the Suns behind record comeback, 109-97
@AIaska Nah bro

@King of Carrot Flowers the KA KAW
Ah. Cool beans.
@Goneawol I know it's scary now, but I'm pretty sure Durant will make a full recovery and be himself again. Unless there's just truly something messed up with his feet, which we can't really know right now.
@N0tres I like watching Kevin Durant play basketball.
@Jooseppi Is his name Dr. El Prez? Because I just banned someone by that name two days ago.
@Greeed Nobody is going to fill me in? Come on people!
This is completely fair. I'll give you an example:
You know when Russ had surgery on his hand? I talked with Presti on the phone Friday night, getting an update on what the situation was. He told me "surgery was a consideration." In reality, Russ was having surgery the next morning, or maybe even that night. So I had this news story I wrote up off Presti's comments, on Halloween night at like 10 p.m. which was then worthless in like eight hours because they announced Westbrook had undergone surgery on his hand.
That kind of stuff is absolutely bothersome. It wasn't lying, but it sure wasn't being direct and honest.
@BiLL'FKN'Murray! Now there is absolutely something to be said for baiting players for a headline worthy quote. And that definitely happens. And it's shameful. I hate that.
But in most scenarios, it's the player making the news, not the media.
@Greeed I know not of what you speak.
@CjEasyMoney$(THUNDER) And to add to that: They had every reason to believe the new screw would work fine. The fracture was healing as intended, which was the only reason they were really able to transition to that. But in that process of him returning to the floor, things didn't keep healing properly, which caused them to pull him off the floor and move to the more intensive bone graft procedure.
It didn't begin regressing until KD returned to practice a couple weeks ago. Before that, all imaging was showing proper healing. They moved to the new screw, which I don't believe could handle the workload and still promote healing, which caused a regression. At least that's how it's been described to me, if I'm understanding it all correctly. I'm not a doctor.
@HuskerJohn That's a good question. And I wish I had an answer. I don't believe owners have insurance on players, but I'll certainly ask to find out.
@MarkPetersen3 I know people want to point fingers at the Thunder's medical staff, but considering they didn't perform the surgeries, I don't see how this is their fault.
And I've asked around the league some. OKC's medical and training staffs are some of the most highly regarded there are. I think part of this appearance they've messed up two players, is with how conservatively they approach things. Westbrook could've probably gone without those other knee scopes, at least waiting until the offseason, but the Thunder weren't taking chances.
The Tyson Chandler thing, well, that's a whole other story.
I don't think they did the procedure incorrectly. I think for whatever reason, it just didn't agree with Durant's foot. It's unusual (again, the 5-8% number), but it happens.
Like I said, it's more about who told me that he'd be back. I supposed that person could've been misled, which resulted in me being misled, but I don't see why that would happen.
@Schweebs I'm currently skiing and DTing.
I don't think I was lied to. I don't think anyone anticipated it going this way. Considering who the last person I talked to that assured me he would be back, I don't feel like I was misled.
@BiLL'FKN'Murray! There's a reason ESPN has me covering the Thunder, and as great as my mother thinks I am, it's not about me being a great writer.
@Gotta Big Enes @Royce Young @BiLL'FKN'Murray!
If that's what you're looking for, you got the wrong guy.
@Gotta Big Enes @BiLL'FKN'Murray! Players have been doing it for 60 years. And nowadays, access is much, MUCH more limited, so I don't think you should feel all that sorry for them.
@BiLL'FKN'Murray! It's not the media that magnifies it. It's the players for saying it in the first place. And when you have global superstars like Durant and Westbrook, people care about the things they say.
Khris Middleton could sound the eff off tonight, and nobody would give a shit. Because he's Khris Middleton.
@BiLL'FKN'Murray! And if you think OKC media is tough, LOL, check out how the Bulls, the Knicks, the Lakers, the Cavs, the Mavericks, etc are covered.
@BiLL'FKN'Murray! What are you talking about? We're not here to coddle and cover for the players. They say it, we report it. It's a pretty simple setup.
I get you love your players and are going to defend them rigorously, but if they say things on the record, what do you want us to do, just ignore it?
Also: That confused thing with Russ, I tweeted it and I used it in my story. That's it.
@Tonitrus Kiamichi Mountains, y'all.
@Gotta Big Enes @Meh..
This was the Utah reporters asking him these questions.
@meetkd They didn't know his fracture had regressed until a few days ago. That's what happened with his whole timeline of events. After he had the procedure to go to the new screw, the discomfort was supposed to reduce. When it didn't, they knew they had to figure out the next thing.
3 weeks ago on Kevin Durant done for the season: Five big questions
@Mother Teresa Welllllll, is it?
@OBoy (LaFamilia) That's because a lot of fans (and media) are idiots that think they can sit on their sofa and demand a player play through incredible amounts of pain and discomfort.
Meanwhile, they're calling in sick to work because they ate too much Chipotle the day before.
4 weeks, 1 day ago on Kevin Durant held out of practice, panic ensues
@OBoy (LaFamilia) The original fracture is healing as expected. This is a different bone that is essentially a deep bone bruise caused by the screw rubbing against it.
@Bmuelle24 It hasn't been wrong yet.
Ha I hear you. I grabbed all those like seven years ago and obviously some changed. And where I got them never updated them.
1 month ago on Thunder melt down in Dallas, 119-115
I remain cautiously pro-Lamb
I don't think that. The Roberson discussion is interesting because he's still a liability while also being a defensive asset. I go back and forth about what to do with him.
And yes, Brooks spoke postgame. He always does.
I don't know what you think my "position" has to do with anything. If I thought that, I'd say it.
Another thing to add to your diagram: People that read the site versus commenting.
