Well good to know we don't have this level of dumbness on AA. Worst in the west? Rofl what idiot would look at the Chuefs roster and assume that. Eric Winston, Jamaal Charles, Peyton Hillis, Branden Albert..hmm what team will have that running game? Sure Cassel is a turd when he has nothing to support him, but that's exactly what is not the case here. D Bowe, Steve Breaston, Baldwin, Moeki and Boss (thanks by the way). Not to mention there are few backs as good at catching than Hillis and JC. Whose defense was better last year? Whose AFC west defense was even close the last six weeks? Is it me or did the Chiefs only lose the AFC West because of two miraculous Seymore blocked field goals? Mind you two blocked field goals from winning the division WITHOUT Cassel, Charles, Berry, and Moeki. We get all those players PLUS Winston, Hillis, and Boss. Oh by the way do some research before bad mouthing Rac. What talent did he have on the Browns....what a terrible assessment. It's four teams bro, only four. Shouldn't be so difficult.

@LyleGraversen So true man. Palko was the absolute worst. My god I still have nightmares. If only we didn't have crazy Haley when Cassel went down. We could have went with Stanzi to ride out that terrible year. Really would have known. Been able to move up the draft board too. Anyway I just wish we could move on from Cassel. He is not a top 20 in this league. Why should we stop searching for one?
2 years, 10 months ago on KC Chiefs Fans: Tell Me I'm Wrong!
@MicahStephenson Why would anyone get mad if Cassel plays lights out. I think he is most likely the third best QB on the roster and pretty much despise him but that doesn't mean I want my Chiefs losing. If he came out as a top ten QB I would be happy as a pig in....
Your optimism aside, I still love you Lyle
You are wrong. Baldwin cannot replace Bowe in one year. Bowe deserves top WR money and he will get it. Pioli will be on hi way out if Cassel is a failure AND he let's bowe go.
You are also wrong on Matt the turd Cassel. Your last article simply pointed out he can be decent if his team is capable of making up for his short comings. I am sorry but I do not think there are many QBs that won't flourish if defense is dominate and running game is tops. That is a terrible argument. Furthermore it has been how long since Cassel has played well? He has gone the last 11 games throwing ten TDs and 16 picks I believe though don't quote me because I am not looking it up. He throws over 260 seldomly. 2010 we beat up on a bunch teams with losing records. Big whoop. Throw all that aside and I will tell you why I see crap..I watch games and what I see is mediocrity. Can we win with him sure, we did in 2010. But when the competition gets tough he is a failure. Unless somehow he learned in his prolonged and welcome exit from the NFL how to read a defense, progress and throw with accuracy on more than 10% of his passes...
@natasha2marie @KC MikeG Sufficiently punked.

@BWrangler Do not tarnish the name of Trent Green by saying Cassel can be anything like he was. Who was trent throwing to again? Right
2 years, 10 months ago on Matt Cassel Is A Winner, Says Daboll
Cassel is crap. The truth is anyone excluding Tyler Palko could have thrown that 10-6 record. Anyone excluding Tyler Palko can throw to another ten win season this year. It has nothing to do with the capabilty of that noodle arm inaccurate retard and everything to do with how stacked our team is otherwise. And I think Stanzi might take exception to "clearly the best" Patrick.
Good to know Cassel can overthrow a typical reciever and Baldwin can make up for it. That's what we really need: wide receivers that don't rely on accuracy. Throw it in thier general direction and its up to them to go get it. Or we can believe that Cassel put that ball right where he meant to. Lol

2 years, 11 months ago on In Pioli I Trust
Terrific article and spot on. I used to lump Pioli in with Haley and Cassel as far as the things I dislike most about the Chiefs but he has proved me wrong. We have arguably the most talented team in the NFL minus the QB. That is the fault of Pioli and we have to give some credit to Clark. Three things that I will list as terrible decisions on Pioli's part are Cassel, Gaither, and Kyle Orton. I think also he put too little value on safety but corrected that with the pick of Berry. Most other things that have drove me crazy over the years I think fall on Haley's shoulder's. Great read man.
@big chief @chiefswatch I could just litter my responses with cuss words; that would go very far in proving my intelligence. Get a life loser.

@MichaelShaw The only fans that get chastised on this forum are those that think cassel is garbage. I don't call anyone a non-fan for believing in him, but I am always called a non-fan for saying he is crap.
@KC MikeG @sportsfan101 @Danny W Not a chance I would read this novel. Try and implement a Twitter type rule on your own writing. You would get many more replies.
As a resident idiot of Joplin is what I think you meant to say. I can be a fan AND talk crap on Cassel the retard. You all say that well he can win with a healthy, stacked team. Well so could ANY STARTING QB IN THE NFL. That is the most retarded argument I hear over and over again. Ricky Stanzi could just as easily come in and manage this stacked team, Orton beat the Packers with the same team that Cassel lead to how many losses before his broken hand? Do not tell me how to be a fan and I wont tell you. Well I take that back.; try not being such a moron.
@Dagda He is not better than Orton. Two different players on completely different teams. I saw Orton play with Cassels team and play better than Cassel. How about this for reasons? He cannot read a defense. He cannot make progressions. He is terribly inaccurate past ten yards. He thinks he is good when at best he is mediocre. He averages a terrible QB rating whenever the team he plays is good and he "shines" only when the team we are playin is middle of the road or worse. His famed 10-6 year we had the easiest schedule in the league. He took a Perfect Patriots team the year before and lead them to 5 losses. That's 5 more than they had in 2008. His goodness is an illusion. He is a capable number 2, nothing more.
"have I sucked when it mattered? Yes." let hear that you pompous prick. I swear Cassel is as dumb as is his arm is a noodle. I laughed my ass off when I read this Convo. Thank god this will be his last year.
The only thing I don't like about this signing is that it was only one year.
2 years, 11 months ago on Hillis Could End Up The Chiefs' Most Important 2011 Signing
@LyleGraversen You also make my point that if anything goes askew Cassel cannot perform. You point to 2010 when everything was going right and he had food numbers but bail him out with excuses in the playoff game. Perhaps we agree even you should just rename the article the History says we can despite Cassel, because I agree whole heartedly.
2 years, 11 months ago on History Says Chiefs Can Win Playoff Games With Matt Cassel
@LyleGraversen I just don't believe he is even a competent game manage when it matters most. Had he put up game manager numbers with more consistency against good competition I may agree with you but he is not there. You are right he doesn't need to carry this team it is loaded. However he will need to score to beat the Ravens, Pats, NO, the Giants, the Packers, the Steelers, Philly and he can't. Our talent can carry us past round one but beyond that we need a competent QB. No way we win a Super Bowl with him.
@MicahStephenson Or the realists can point to the article written on here months back called Matt Cassel: Time to go. A statistical case that shows he is simply good against crap and crap against good. Stats can be made to make any case, that's why it's best to trust your eyes first. Besides there are so many variables for team to team and year to year I simply don't see these arguments working. The only time variables don't matter is if you have a elite QB like Manning. I trust what I see and that is Cassel stands no chance when the game falls in his shoulders.
@Tribalrage Good point about his dink and dunk greatness
You Cassel numbers are no doubt based off one/three years with KC and with a Patriot squad that was perfect the year before Cassel took over. You can fidget with numbers all day and make any QB look comparable. We all know the truth. Had we Rivers or Flacco we would be in much better shape. How about you comment on Cassel against real competition? How did he do on the Ravens game or against Oakland in week 17 2010 year. Both games when we needed at least mediocre play and we instead had Interceptions and next to zero TDs. Or how about how he started the 2011 year before the broken hand. How about how he seems to never actually improve. He is not good, not horrendous, but nowhere near Phillip Rivers. I can't believe you would even mention Rivers and Cassel in the same sentence it is proof that numbers can be made to look however you want them to. When we all know that Rivers in KC would be an almost guaranteed AFC Championship. Your argument falls flat on its face, we are right to think we will not win a Super Bowl with crappy QB play which we will get from Cassel when it matters as he has repeatedly shown. Why does nobody mention how easy we had it in 2010? How soft the schedule was? His numbers are inflated if anything. The real Cassel is the guy that got murdered every meaningful game. We see the reality on the field. The inaccurate passes downfield, the locking on to recievers, the sack taking, the inability to progress and find the open man, the noodle arm, apparent low Football IQ.
It is funny that every objective outside looker knows that Cassel is not the answer. Mostly all I have heard from the outside pundits for the past two years is that he is still developing...blah, blah, blah. Now it looks like the only people that still back him are Pioli and a strange dilusional fan base. It is good to know that after years I prove right again. First I was vinidicated in my belief that Haley was a passionate idiot who could not manage a game, evaluate talent, or stop falling in love with the least talent on the team. Now people are starting to fall in line with the Cassel is a good back up stance. I will be flying out from California for game one. And the moment shit for brains Cassel throws a pick I will be starting a "STANZ!" chant. You can guarantee that.
2 years, 11 months ago on 2013 NFL Mock Draft Has The Chiefs Taking...
@kc4life "If you don't think so you're not a chiefs fan." I like your optimism but that last statement is simply moronic. One can be a Chiefs fan while being critical of our chances to win a super bowl especially when the most important piece of the team is also the worst which is QB. Who are the most recent winning QBs? Eli, Brady, Ben, Brees, and Rodgers. Nowhere in recent memory has a mediocre QB won it all. That is simple realism so I am on the side of no we cannot win a superbowl this year. Make the playoffs? Sure, maybe even win a game.Superbowl with Cassel? Nope.
2 years, 11 months ago on How to Beat the Chiefs
Yep Cassel. He either spent the past year reading up on how to be a QB or he spent it making excuses for his dismal play dating back to week 17 of 2010. He will either be the reason we win a playoff game or the reason we lose. The rest of th team is stacked and he is the most horrible player on the entire starting roster now that Thomas Jones and the right tackle I prefer not to name are gone.
2 years, 11 months ago on Most Important Chief?
Here is how to best the Chiefs. Play extremely good man coverage on Bowe and eliminate the check down. There is a greater than 50% chance that shit for brains Cassel doesn't complete a pass without Bowe or the check down.
@BigGil Or getting blown out in because Cassel the shit passer can't keep up with the competition. Thinking the week we play NO. I hope you are right. I hope it was all about Haley, but I doubt it. Cassel is Pioli's turd and he seems incapable of flushing it down the toilet. We are assuming Stanzi will be 2. Unfortunately Quinn is Crennels turd so I am not certain the depth chart won't reflect that.
2 years, 11 months ago on Walter Football NFL Power Rankings: The Chiefs Are...
@BigGil We can fantasize about Stanzi all day and it will not matter. Even if he is clearly better we will never know. He will not be given the chance to play with the first team in training camp or the preseason. Stanzi might be Eli, he might be Brady. You know who will find out? Some other team I am thinking. Cassel isn't so terrible he will cause is to lose when the rest o our team is stacked enough to bail him out. We will never see Stanzi
@BigGil I am holding on to all hope that they do have a QB competition. That they can think outside of "Cassel is our starter" and if Stanzi truly does look better they give him the reins. Its hard to optimistic about the QB situation, this is the team that had Tyler Palko as thier number 2. It frightens me that Stanzi was actually third in the depth chart but we all know how idiotic Todd Haley is as a head coach so that could be chalked up to that. Bottom line Cassel is simply not it. People like KCMike can point to all the stat lines he wants but there are just as many that show he is simply mediocre. There was a post on here a while ago that showed a line chart of Cassel's QB rating and it was up and down. It was up against shit competition really, we seem to so easily forget just how cushy our schedule was in 2010, and down when there is any thing close to a playoff defense facing us. How many years must we give this guy before saying hmm I guess every coach he ever encountered had it right when they thought him a good backup. It was unfornate he broke his hand last year really because it pretty much guaranteed he gets 2012. Had he not broke his hand we would have learned from a full season that he can not carry this team in the slightest. Good QBs can carry a team, shit so can rookies. Peyton is a shining example of how a QB can affect a team and Cam Newton is a good example that you do not need 8 years of chances to prove you simply can not do it. Want to know whats really shitty? If we win the AFC West regardless of the upcoming playoff loss we will again see Cassel in 2013.
"The Chiefs have the best roster in the NFL if you exclude the quarterback position." I cant believe you would repost that Patrick. Be prepared for the Cassel apologist wrath!
@KC MikeG yea we would all be way cooler of we opened multiple tabs and looked up stats. Shit if we all commented like you we oils set a record for the longest thread on a non espn site! How abou you just submit one of your comments to AA, I read they are hiring.
2 years, 11 months ago on Are We There Yet?
@DavidFritch Sarcasm is my favorite. Cassel is better than only one QB who played multiple games last year: Tyle Palko.
@KC MikeG I love that got in your head so thoroughly. I predicted your response in this thread too, lol. Way too long to actually read I just scanned for Homer and bam I get my credit.
@calchiefsfan The problem with that is we need to lose to have any hope at a top pick. We will not lose with shit for brains, barely any talent, noodle arm, perennial backup Cassel because the rest of team is so loaded. I honestly believe we will win the AFC West. We will be bounced of the playoffs by any team that has a QB with more than an IQ of 50. We will end up drafting in the 20s and missing out on a real prospect.
OH NO! You just didn't say that Cassel is incapable of leading us to a super bowl did you? Man you are a terrible writer. Look at his 2010 season!! He had a all those TDs and half as many interceptions. Nevermind that in the last week and the playoffs he threw zero TDs and a whole lot of picks. Nevermind he did nothing of significance prior to breaking his hand in 2011. Listen Double D, Cassel did not have the benefit of a perfect team around him in 2011, 2009, or the most important part of 2010. In order for him to excel every position has to be perfect around him as you will no doubt gain from reading these comments. Peyton is proof that you need to have a great supporting cast to have a winning season....I cant believe I am reading this. If you do not support Cassel you do not support this team. ROFL
Now I know why we passed on Osweiller, Cousins, Foles, and Wilson. *sigh of relief*
2 years, 11 months ago on Chiefs Sign QB David Legree
@KC MikeG @Big 2010 was what pissed me off the most. That spectactular year you all cling to he finished with a 20 QB rating in weeks 17 and against the Ravens. He threw zero TDs and six picks as I remember. Those were the two most important games of the season and he was the worst player on the field. Keep being a homer and I will be a realist. Cassel is a piece of crap.
2 years, 11 months ago on Dallas Clark Visits The Chiefs
@Big Jim Not likely brother. I will not forgive him for ruining our playoff hopes in 2011. He was awful last year and was bailed out by a broken hand. Everyone wanted me to embrace Haley the dumb ass too and look what he did to this team. I can't help but comment on what I know and that is add all the receiving talent in the world and it won't matter. Cassel can't keep track of more than Bowe and he is just as likely to throw a pick as complete a twenty yard pass. I can't even look forward to the season with hopes of a Super Bowl because of him alone. Defense is there, running game is there, receivers and line are there. QB? Not even close.
Boss is open, Baldwin is beating his man, Breaston is open, Bowe is covered. Who does Cassel throw to? Peyton Hillis who is in check down 5 yards in front of Cassel because he doesn't see any of the others. All of these reciever mean little until we get a real QB.
signed with detroit....fml

Field Stretcher? HAHA we have Cassel throwing there is no such thing. I guess his speed can help him catch up to the horribly inaccurate deep ball Cassel tosses up.
2 years, 11 months ago on Chiefs Select WR Devon Wylie In Fourth Round
bleh more reciever's when do they every pan out? Every year we get excited about this late round reciever additions to end up never witnessing any production on the field. Same goes for return men. Kirk Cousins was our last shot at true QB talent and he goes to Washington for who the hell knows what reason. How you guys are excited about this injury prone WR is beyond me.
2 years, 11 months ago on Chiefs 2012 Draft: Remember The Ravens Game
Bleh I wasnt on cloud nine knowing what the Raiders did to us in week 17. We might have upgraded the trenches but what we didn't upgrad was the one aspect that was even crapier than line play: the QB. Cassel was the worst player on the field those two weeks and he carried his loserness right into the following year against the Bills and Lions. We can add line depth with all of our next picks and still end up with same shit QB play.
One thing scares me: Peyton punishing our over the top coverage.
@Magnum1D LOL marine here, they have never gave me a quote on insurance that is less than Geico. Never
