Well good to know we don't have this level of dumbness on AA. Worst in the west? Rofl what idiot would look at the Chuefs roster and assume that. Eric Winston, Jamaal Charles, Peyton Hillis, Branden Albert..hmm what team will have that running game? Sure Cassel is a turd when he has nothing to support him, but that's exactly what is not the case here. D Bowe, Steve Breaston, Baldwin, Moeki and Boss (thanks by the way). Not to mention there are few backs as good at catching than Hillis and JC. Whose defense was better last year? Whose AFC west defense was even close the last six weeks? Is it me or did the Chiefs only lose the AFC West because of two miraculous Seymore blocked field goals? Mind you two blocked field goals from winning the division WITHOUT Cassel, Charles, Berry, and Moeki. We get all those players PLUS Winston, Hillis, and Boss. Oh by the way do some research before bad mouthing Rac. What talent did he have on the Browns....what a terrible assessment. It's four teams bro, only four. Shouldn't be so difficult.
@LyleGraversen So true man. Palko was the absolute worst. My god I still have nightmares. If only we didn't have crazy Haley when Cassel went down. We could have went with Stanzi to ride out that terrible year. Really would have known. Been able to move up the draft board too. Anyway I just wish we could move on from Cassel. He is not a top 20 in this league. Why should we stop searching for one?
@MicahStephenson Why would anyone get mad if Cassel plays lights out. I think he is most likely the third best QB on the roster and pretty much despise him but that doesn't mean I want my Chiefs losing. If he came out as a top ten QB I would be happy as a pig in....

You are wrong. Baldwin cannot replace Bowe in one year. Bowe deserves top WR money and he will get it. Pioli will be on hi way out if Cassel is a failure AND he let's bowe go. You are also wrong on Matt the turd Cassel. Your last article simply pointed out he can be decent if his team is capable of making up for his short comings. I am sorry but I do not think there are many QBs that won't flourish if defense is dominate and running game is tops. That is a terrible argument. Furthermore it has been how long since Cassel has played well? He has gone the last 11 games throwing ten TDs and 16 picks I believe though don't quote me because I am not looking it up. He throws over 260 seldomly. 2010 we beat up on a bunch teams with losing records. Big whoop. Throw all that aside and I will tell you why I see crap..I watch games and what I see is mediocrity. Can we win with him sure, we did in 2010. But when the competition gets tough he is a failure. Unless somehow he learned in his prolonged and welcome exit from the NFL how to read a defense, progress and throw with accuracy on more than 10% of his passes...

Cassel is crap. The truth is anyone excluding Tyler Palko could have thrown that 10-6 record. Anyone excluding Tyler Palko can throw to another ten win season this year. It has nothing to do with the capabilty of that noodle arm inaccurate retard and everything to do with how stacked our team is otherwise. And I think Stanzi might take exception to "clearly the best" Patrick.
Good to know Cassel can overthrow a typical reciever and Baldwin can make up for it. That's what we really need: wide receivers that don't rely on accuracy. Throw it in thier general direction and its up to them to go get it. Or we can believe that Cassel put that ball right where he meant to. Lol
Terrific article and spot on. I used to lump Pioli in with Haley and Cassel as far as the things I dislike most about the Chiefs but he has proved me wrong. We have arguably the most talented team in the NFL minus the QB. That is the fault of Pioli and we have to give some credit to Clark. Three things that I will list as terrible decisions on Pioli's part are Cassel, Gaither, and Kyle Orton. I think also he put too little value on safety but corrected that with the pick of Berry. Most other things that have drove me crazy over the years I think fall on Haley's shoulder's. Great read man.

Well so could ANY STARTING QB IN THE NFL. That is the most retarded argument I hear over and over again. Ricky Stanzi could just as easily come in and manage this stacked team, Orton beat the Packers with the same team that Cassel lead to how many losses before his broken hand? @Dagda He is not better than Orton. Two different players on completely different teams. I saw Orton play with Cassels team and play better than Cassel. How about this for reasons? He cannot read a defense. He cannot make progressions. He is terribly inaccurate past ten yards. He thinks he is good when at best he is mediocre. He averages a terrible QB rating whenever the team he plays is good and he "shines" only when the team we are playin is middle of the road or worse. His famed 10-6 year we had the easiest schedule in the league. He took a Perfect Patriots team the year before and lead them to 5 losses. That's 5 more than they had in 2008. His goodness is an illusion. He is a capable number 2, nothing more.

@LyleGraversen You also make my point that if anything goes askew Cassel cannot perform. You point to 2010 when everything was going right and he had food numbers but bail him out with excuses in the playoff game. Perhaps we agree even you should just rename the article the History says we can despite Cassel, because I agree whole heartedly.
@LyleGraversen I just don't believe he is even a competent game manage when it matters most. Had he put up game manager numbers with more consistency against good competition I may agree with you but he is not there. You are right he doesn't need to carry this team it is loaded. However he will need to score to beat the Ravens, Pats, NO, the Giants, the Packers, the Steelers, Philly and he can't. Our talent can carry us past round one but beyond that we need a competent QB. No way we win a Super Bowl with him.
