Beli's sinker isn't sinking
Maybe Honeycutt is still working on it. Wasn't he a sort of project?
Or perhaps he's been on a downward trajectory for awhile, and we should have never signed him to a long-term deal and gone with Kenley. Mariners fans warned me last season. He was just as awful in Seattle toward the end.
True, but Sellers and Cruz aren't getting on either and neither have speed

I may sacrifice some defense here. The Dodgers have 4 SBs on the season, and one of their problems is that their lack of speed besides Crawford (since Matt Kemp isn't getting on base) is that they are only moving from station to station thus stranding more runners. Gordon's speed could provide not only a much-needed pinch-runner option but he can also fluster opposing pitchers creating situations where the Dodgers can strike offensively. When you're not getting the big hits from your main guys, you gotta try to manufacture runs via other means.
That's what I suggest. Crawford leading off vs. RHP and Ellis vs.LHP. If Crawford isn't 100%, then we'd have to use Hanley.
Great post. I had the pleasure of meeting A.J. at an autograph signing earlier this season, and I have to say he was one of the nicest Dodgers I have ever met. He spent a few minutes talking with my 5-year old daughter, and I know she will remember her first experience meeting a big leaguer forever. It's extra special to watch a player like A.J. have such a inspirational year knowing that he is genuinely a good guy off the field as well.
While I want to win this year of course, I'm terrified that we'll lose Bills next year to TJ. Also, why risk Kenley's life/career if he needs heart surgery? Obviously it will be very hard to win without him, but these high stake down-the-stretch games are very stressful. That being said, it doesn't really matter what the pitching staff does if we can't score runs. The starters can't throw a shutout every game.
@DBrim That would be fine too.
With the combined futility of Uribe, Loney, Kennedy, and Gordon to a degree, Luis Cruz is a welcomed reprieve from the infield issues. There's absolutely no reason not to start Cruz at 3B right now.
Uribe doesn't even play anymore so what use is his defense? He should have been sent packing long, long ago. They need to cut both Kennedy and Uribe. Also, who are they really going to get at 1B? I think we're stuck with the Rivera/Loney platoon until Sands gets his Sept. call up.
@el serracho then no gustan las tortugas
@el serracho Can the turtle hit or play an infield corner position?
I like green elephants and I like this deal.
@DavePomerantz @JustinDrummond Class of 1997 here:)
@JustinDrummond Cool! I grew up here in Moorpark-since '88. Did u go to MHS?
@JustinDrummond oh hey you live in Moorpark?
I think Dre will garner more than $40 mill. I wouldn't say his defense is abysmal. Although some may argue that is range is lacking, we watch him make great catches day in and day out and he had quite a few assists last year.
