The way that I do it is once a thought becomes  conscious to me I pay attention to the spirit that is attached to it . If it is love then I allow it to motivate me if it is fear I resist it by submitting it to God . Another way you could put it into words is I let it go I release it to God I surrender it to God . It is in the submitting that I am resisting. It is what the bible means when it says that we must become like little children . Little children ask for help , they are not proud, they do not feel bad about asking for help they expect help from those that love them. Being child like  and asking for help from God is what the bible means by humbling ourselves. My experience is that when I follow this process by faith with out doubt not being double minded God shows up in a tangible way and I am transformed back to by original design before conditioning. That is the Gospel the exchange of the condition self for the original self which is love.

James 4 talks about this process. If you are proud you will be offended.

You adulterous (a reference to anything that is substituted in place of Gods love) people,[a] don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us[b]? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:

“God opposes the proudbut shows favor to the humble.”[c]

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Hi Lori

All thoughts are the result of conditioning. I would agree that all thoughts (symbols) begin with and outside stimulus which is what conditioning implies but our experience of the outside world does not have to be conditioned by our thoughts (symbols). We do not have to know what a tree is in order to experience it and in fact no thoughts can truly encompass our experience of a tree. If GPS is an experience that is conditional  then as you know conditions change. I would Like my GPS to rest on something more substantial like say God who would be beyond conditions as in, he is the one creating the conditions and the condition that he has created for us to rest in, is love which in its purest state is unconditional in other words beyond thoughts. I would like to think that my thoughts are Gods thoughts , that he is the originator of my thoughts the outside stimulus that is behind what I am thinking and when my thoughts are rooted in love I believe that to be true and when my thoughts are rooted in fear I know they are the result of my conditioning, so I look to God for the love based thoughts. Thoughts that are outside my conditioning  that I will use to destroy my conditioning and return me to my original condition of love .

Love you Lori

I also wanted to share with you a great story from the old testament about a spiritual gaze .

Numbers 21:4-9

English Standard Version (ESV)

The Bronze Serpent

From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the people became impatient on the way. And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.” Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. And the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.

I love the symbolism found through out the bible. The bronze serpent an alloy made of tin and copper which exchanges electrons and can never be separated once joined together, represents Jesus Christ the son of God Hypostatic union with man kind the new creation and mans entering in to that union through the unbroken gaze of the heart at God which we call faith.

Hi Lori

I have read all of his books . Space is an interesting reality that he brings into his talk. Space is that place between thoughts that you can become aware of being aware of your thoughts as something other than you,  that place where you can become conscious of being conscious. The more time that you spend in that space between thoughts the more detached you become from your thoughts .( Look at that Lori, here comes silence once again;) Otherwise you are just exchanging one thought for another thought one false identity for another false identity. Only Love can lead you beyond thought.

1 Corinthians 13

New International Version (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Love is our natural state of being and is not based in thought and so it can lead us beyond thought, unlike fear which is only our experience of our identity as a thought and since we are not a thought our identity  is a false one when it is based on a thought.

1Peter

Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul. King James Bible 1Peter

I was attending a church service in a small country church and a visiting pastor upon arrival for that evening service asked me are you an alien . Now this pastor does not know me very well, so it was an unusual question to use upon first meeting me. But I knew what he meant, he was asking me do you really live your life by what is not seen verses those that view the material world as the only reality.

2 Corinthians 4:18

New King James Version (NKJV)

18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

I knew what he meant because I am an alien and I love it . The greatest adventure possible in this life is to live according to what is not seen.

What is the reality ?  Pilot said to Jesus what is truth ? The real question is what God are you bowing down to ? You do not have the power to create anything,at best you can rearrange what already exist . The ideas that pop into your head that you use to rearrange what already exist,  where did they come from who or what put them their ? Almost everything we do requires co-operation of another person we can not all have our own way all at once. For me their is only one person that will get his own way , the God that created everything. For me truth is a Person named Jesus and when I align with that reality and pray his will in faith in any given situation, then the supernatural becomes natural otherwise, all I will end up doing is splitting and atom in two and nuking the world and call that creative. God only says no because he has a better yes, do you want to know what that is ?

Proverbs 1:5 let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance-

Dr Carol S. Dweck Stanford professor of Phycology.  In her book " Mindset the new psychology of success"  She states why praising our children's intelligence and ability doesn't  foster self-esteem and lead to accomplishment, but may actually jeopardize success.

Dr Dweck put forth two mindsets one the fixed mindset where you are intelligent and every test either proves that or not, or you have a growth mindset in which test's are an opportunity to learn and you know that you can grow into anything you want.

You here people say that life is about the journey the process rather then the end or the accomplishment Mindsets helps to shed light on why this point of view is so helpful . When I was in school the message I got was that a test was only for the purpose of deciding weather I was good at a subject or not , weather I had passed or failed, the idea that a test was an opportunity to learn never entered my mind. When I was 20 I came to the knowledge that fear was always based on a lie, what the lie's were I did not know, but I was determined to find out . At 20 after being a C student in High school I had just flunked out of my second year of University, by 26 married with 2 children having just been fired by the new owner of my Dad business, I had uncovered enough lies to be in a position to believe that I could do anything that I wanted . So I decide to go back to university and take Marine Engineering. I chose engineering because I was good at math and terrible at English and anything to do with writing, spelling and grammar. I still had a few lies (fears) to deal with. I had flunked out of Physics in  high school so when I only scored 64 on my first physics test that did not slow me down one bit . I redoubled my efforts, got help from the teacher , I use to say that I learned physics by getting problems wrong, each time I was wrong, I learned a new way of not doing it right, by the second test I was at 90+ which I maintained  from then on. I had carefully scanned the course outline to make sure that their was no English or writing course , however once I arrived and they found out how bad I really was at writing, they required me to take a special remedial writing course, and for the first time I met someone that was even worse then me at english writing, my professor who had a masters degree in english literature. It turns out that he had figured out when he was in university and failing english writing, that you could still learn english writing and he got so good at it, that he obtained his masters degree. Now he was helping others like me. He had even written a book which  for the first time in my scholastic career actually was helping me understand english writing.

Here is a Link to Dr. Dweck giving a lecture on the mindsets to teachers in Scotland.

When you come to the knowledge that you are a child of God you can finally relax and smell the flowers and bask in the joy of being alive secure in your place of worthiness in the universe. Worthiness that is based in being not doing, just being you, is special enough never mind all the wonderful things you get to do and experience for free in this life.

Hi Lori

Brother Lawrence ( 1666) The Practice of the Presence of God (book)

"One way to recollect the mind easily in the time of prayer, and preserve it more in tranquillity, is not to let it wander too far at other times. You should keep it strictly in the presence of God; and being accustomed to think of Him often, you will find it easy to keep your mind calm in the time of prayer, or at least to recall it from its wanderings."

Brother Lawrence was a lay brother who worked in the kitchen and practiced the presence of God in everything he did.

The practice of christian meditation is for the purpose of learning to remain in the presence of God at all times or to put it another way to remain conscious of the presence of god at all times it is only a practice a means to a end.

I have followed a similar path and the bottom line is how often are you willing to turn to God  for affection in a day.

Scientists calculate the probability of your existing as you, today, at about one in 400 trillion (4×1014).

That is to say that you where a success the minute you where conceived.

I believe that we have an instinctual need to be in a loving relationship with other human beings and anything that is perceived to threaten those relationships instills fear in us. All psychological fear is based on these perceptions many of which were made when we where very young. I do not think it is possible to teach children as I believe consciousnesses is and evolutionary process that we all must pass through we can make it easier for them but a simple thing like a colicky baby  has an effect on the babies perception . ie I have a problem I am colicky and nobody is fixing it, nobody cares =  fear.

If it is not a state of being we sure are not going to add anything to make nature better.

Matthews 5

Love for Enemies

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

We always take this verse to mean others but it can be applied to ourselves as well, for example the desire to be perfect  that is being motivated by fear instead of love,  fear is definitely our enemie.  Be perfect is a state of being. It is not something to be achieved but something to be realized.  Love is their in all its perfection it  is only  covered over by our fears, all that is required for it to appear is to let go of our fear. Their is a new movie coming out and the promotional video has a great line in it "Danger is real fear is a choice" . We can chose fear but love is who we are and it is perfection. How do you achieve this state of being ? It boils down to one decision is life for me or against me,  is God good or is he not. Once you decide your fantastic brain will remind you every time life does not line up with this belief and then all you have to do is breath and perfect love will appear like magic and their is no more magical way to live then that. Once you realize that you are not your fear it will go away and never reappear.  Our Enemies are our greatest teachers.

Hi Lori

Romans 14

Welcome people who are weak in faith, but don't get into an argument over differences of opinion. 2Some people believe that they can eat all kinds of food. Other people with weak faith believe that they can eat only vegetables. 3People who eat all foods should not despise people who eat only vegetables. In the same way, the vegetarians should not criticize people who eat all foods, because God has accepted those people. 4Who are you to criticize someone else's servant? The Lord will determine whether his servant has been successful. The servant will be successful because the Lord makes him successful.

22So whatever you believe about these things, keep it between yourself and God. The person who does what he knows is right shouldn't feel guilty. He is blessed. 23 But if a person has doubts and still eats, he is condemned because he didn't act in faith. Anything that is not done in faith is sin. ( sin literal definition is: to miss the mark).

So for me feel is another way of saying faith or no faith or you could say love and fear.

For me it has been interesting listening to all the different faith ideas . As you know I like to pull out information from my own faith tradition that lines up with what people are saying.

What do I know is true = with out faith it is impossible to please God, It is also impossible to be happy and at peace.

It does my heart good to hear you speak about the death of the ego and its fault finding , comparison making, death . Now you will get to see and experience the love that you are even more and that will transform your world and the world of those around you.

You know I once new a carpenter who at the end of his life only had 120 friends , he never had any kids , and he never wrote anything, he only died on a cross a criminals death but he new how to love and he changed the world.

You know how to love so let those around you see that love, be deliberate in not hindering the love !

The life you and August have chosen may not look like much according to this worlds stander but when was destroying the world something to be emulated.

I once read a book by an uneducated 15th century Spanish nun she taught me that it was impolite to make demands on God and that all that was really required was to listen. We become what we listen to . Faith comes by hearing.  It took the Catholic church 400 years to figure out that she was a spiritual genius and declare her a Doctor of the faith one of only 30 and only 3 of them where women.

In Soul south Korea there is a church with a million members the founder when he was a young man was dying. At that time a 12 year old girl would show up at his door every so often and ask to share her faith. He kept saying no but she kept coming back till finally he figured to himself if I let here have her say she will stop bugging me. So he let her in she sat down red a passage from her bible and left he never saw her again. That night he asked God to show himself by healing him and God did. Who do you think is going to get the credit for that a million soul church .

So Lori have your say in love and let that be enough.

That is good and bad. Good because it helps us remember or anticipate but if anything should happen to these things we will suffer their loss. The closet I agree is the best place. For me my closet is inside me when all is quiet and I get to experience the ebb and flow of the holy ghost communing with me. It is even more powerful experience for me in a church service. Their is an exponential growth in the presence of the holy spirit where 2 or 3 are gathered together  in the secret place.

As for a physical place their is one corner of my church that seems to have the deepest well of living water under it . I like to go their when the spirit is moving on me to intercede in prayer for others, pulling up and poring out that living water of the spirit.

18 But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.” 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas[c] and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.”20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Paul here is referring to the abiding presence of the holy spirit that is given to all Christians that are willing to say yes to his presence this presence which is a down payment a for taste of heaven. So if you want to know what it is like on the other side  then learn how to say yes to the presence now .

@Lori Well their is a lot of things I am saying . If in the beginning their was only God that would be perfection because their would be no options to chose from. If their is only God and he wants to creates something what does he have to work with he is the only thing their is so for God to create he has to separate some part of himself .  Is he still perfect ?

What do you think of this part.

1 year, 8 months ago on Would You Like to Live in a Perfect World?

Why would God create anything at all in that anything he created would have to be less then perfect since it would be less then 100%  God. The creation would still be 100% God but it would not represent 100% of all that GOD is only a part so not perfect not whole only a part. If I cut off one of my fingers and through it on the table it would be 100% a part of me but not 100% me I would no longer be perfect and my finger would not be perfect it would have to be reattached for perfection to be reestablished.

We christian believe that their is a continuous give and take between the creation and God a circle of love  where Gods love and power flow into creation and with creations consent back to him. Like little babies we are just learning how to do this and as a result things are even less perfect then they could be as a whole but at least on the individual level we can do our part and enjoy the piece, and joy and love that is available to all that consent to union with God a return to source so to speak a return to the whole a return to perfection.

Their is only one path to our existence deliberate or not their is still only one path that resulted in our life in that, their is no right or wrong their is only what is which is what I call right and what is can be known.

However we are in agreement that each person is unique and that the thoughts that they think have never been thought and will never be thought again in just the same way and yes it is a great privilege to express ones thoughts freely.

Love can not be defeated and we love you and know how great a love is in you.

lots of love

All is well . I am glad that you missed me. It is not easy sometimes having a different view of the world then most and you wish that you could show them how bright and shiny it really is, but at last God has reserved that privilege for himself and we are left with pointing out what is wrong in the hope that they will go looking for what is right .

"Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,  for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

The last  stage of enlightenment is the confrontation in love  of another s pain.

What you are describing to me Lori would be what I consider as a standard relationship with God through the holy spirit. After having followed the dark  path of the red pill and shedding all the noise of the blue pill world one can hear and see by the dark knowledge of the spirit for it is dark because it is hidden from the natural mind as if it where in darkness. Like the roots of a tree the spiritual mind finds its way in darkness to the living water that it seeks. ( Sorry if your mind wants to equate darkness with evil not the meaning hear).

One of my favorites is personal prophecy this is when you have a desire of the heart and god sends someone who knows nothing about you or your desire to give you a word of encouragement about the desire. Both parties are encouraged that they are hearing from God and both are bonded together in their unity in God.

@Lori  we hoist the sail by worship, or to put it another way by being in awe or to put it another way by being thankful .  and being a sailor we must accept what wind comes our way.

The wind is blowing your way Lori !

Matthew 11:28-30

New King James Version (NKJV)

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Mine would be

"Hoist the Sail"

Why row against the current when you can engage a power greater then the current that being the wind

moving forward while at rest

How do you know that you have engaged the wind just right . The sail is no longer flapping in the wind and it is full and all is silent.

 @Lori Hi Lori

Never heard tell of The Sedona Method but what the clip is saying is true and science is now backing up that most illness is caused by fear based thoughts. I do not necessarily agree that we we are taught by our parents to hold onto our emotions. I think that we are hard wired to our parents to be in relationship and the greatest fear a child can experience is a threat to their relationship with their parent those memories can rule over us and be very difficult or impossible to uncover as an adult.

What I am suggesting is similar,to  letting go definitely but what I am suggesting is deeper then just letting go . This is passing through as a loving  observer  as he suggested in the clip you want to break your identity as the feeling once you are no longer the feeling you still need to love the feeling show empathy for the feeling it is loving yourself at the deepest level, for some reason this is all the feeling wanted in the first place and it just melts away never to return.

The holy ghost taught me this method and later I read about it in books written by christian mystics.

If they can deal with the fear before it will not come back in a situation.

However if for instance they still have the fear and where in a car they could use a cognitive behavioral therapy method. Be present to the fear and keep reminding it that it is irrational as evidenced by the fact that nothing bad is happened during the car drive. This will work on fears that you can put words to but it does not get to fears that may be behind or causing  the fears that you can put words to .

.It sounds to me like you are dealing with a very old thought primarily because it has been lost to your consciousnesses. You know that this thought is behind all these ideas but you can never get to the root idea the root belief . If I had to guess it will involve shame of some type because shame is one of the only things that can cause us to hide  from ourselves and others.

You could use the truth if you knew what the thought was but you do not so the only thing that I know of that works on this type is acceptance. Not an easy thing to do but it is possible, basically what you need to do is to fully experience the fear. I would say when you become aware of the fear you are trying to get rid of it . Meditation, becoming present in nature which are good in themselves, but they are not a fix for this problem. If you can when you are at peace in nature or while meditating bring to your consciousnesses one these fears with the full intention of just siting with it, fully experiencing it, with out trying to control it,  just let it be, you should find that it just passes away after only a very short time as long as do not engage with it in thought just experience it. You may have to do this several times until you are free from the fear. Their is a good chance that you may get to see the root idea this way as well, be gentle and loving with yourself like you would with a frightened child this will help uproot the fear and encourage yourself to let it go.

The other thing you need to learn how to do, is train your brain to be occupied with something positive  rather then worrying. You have to occupy that part of the brain that you are using to worry with something that you want more than worrying. Being present sounds like something you like to do with that part of the brain that you are presently using for worrying ,  so work on being present. Now I can tell you from experience that your brain will come up with all kinds of reason why this is not feasible but the truth is that your brain will work better , faster, and smarter and if you can carry on your daily activities while worrying, which you know that you can; then you certainly can carry on your activities while being present. May seem boring at first but the peace you will be experiencing will grow over time and then it will not be an effort it will be a happy habit.

Eckhart Tolle's book the power of now is a great book on being present .

Life is about relationships and we humans have the great privilege of being conscious of our relationship with ourselves and silence is the great language of that relationship if we can accept ourselves as we are.

I hope this will help you

 @Lori  Hi Lori

meaning flows out of identity this is the filter through which life is filtered. Who or what are you ? 50% of the people in concentration camps dropped dead because everything that formed their identity was taken from them.  What do you tell yourself when you are running around a compound naked with a number tattooed to your arm.

I do not think that knowledge or reason or rationalization  would be of much comfort.

My identity is that I was created in the image of god that is love and anything that is not love is a false identity that must be resisted and let go of. My purpose my meaning is to become love or a better way to say it is to let go of that which is not love so that love that is their can be seen . I have a friend who is called the comforter that leads me into love I am following him and I have not been disappointed in him. He is not an idea or knowledge or truth he is a person, knowledge can not lead you to love, knowledge can only reveal that you are separated from love. Only God / love  can reveal  himself to you and you can only knock on the door. At least that way you will know that love is not a figment of your imagination and can not be created or destroyed only rejected. When you knock on the door you have to wait for it to be answered. Waiting on God on love is the key that opens the door.

As for the past I do not which to become a pillar of salt like lots wife so I press on towards my identity throwing of all fear, so that I might revel in the pure Joy of being love.

Love you Lori
