@sidibeke What do you call a sack by either Poe or Powe? How 'bout a "Po' Boy Sandwich?"

My sister has had Chiefs season tickets since Arrowhead was built.  A number of years ago, she calls and says things are a little tight and with the mortgage due and two kids in college she may have to give up the tickets. I says, "are you serious? Let's get our priorities in order, sis. Those tickets come first!" We got it worked out, and she still has the best seats in Arrowhead. 48 yard line, two rows behind the Chiefs bench. I can't even imagine her not having those seats. GO CHIEFS!!!!

@jimfromkc Problem is the Chiefs run a three man front, with Poe or Powe in the middle. Even if they used a four man, you would never see those two together. Powe has played only seven reps his first year.

@KC_Fanactic69 I, along with all of the Chiefs Nation, hope you are right. The die has been cast, and it is Poe, (from now on to be referred to as "The Raven". Pretty cool, huh?) Anyway, I wish the pick had been Fletcher Cox. He is, with an added 25 lbs. about the same size as the Raven, but with miles more game tape with which to grade him. And his tape is way better. I don't think that Cox was much of a reach. But, being a true Chiefs fan, "Raven, get your 346 lb maneater of a body out there and pluck out Manning's eyes", one at a time.

@tm1946  @PhantomDaRhymocideSpade  @RICK I think that the answer lies in the fact that Cassel is surrounded by a far better team than in '08 or '10. If he can't win with this team, then he needs to be gone. But, having said that, I think that this is going to be a very good year for Cassel and the Chiefs.

@PhantomDaRhymocideSpade  @RICK  I agree. But the question was about "most important". It is still Cassel. If you take our current team, and replace Cassel with, say, Palko, then what does the future look like? Oh, wait! Haley did that, so we know what happened.

Look, if we were talking about ANY other team in the league, what would be the most important starting position? Of course! It really doesn't matter if you like Cassel or not. We could be talking about Romo, Palmer, Freeman et.al., it is the QB. Without one that at least doesn't cost you games, the QB is the #1 most important player in ANY SPORT, PERIOD! Pick a position in any sport that is more important. Baseball? Irrelevant. Hockey? Same. Soccer? Puhleez. Basketball? That comes as close any any, only because you have five starting players, and one guy can be huge. But that guy could be a center , guard or forward. Any rebuttals?

@patrickallen Three 1st rounders? Quick, flush that joint down the toilet before somebody calls a cop! I would gladly give up one first and maybe a second in the first year, then maybe another second and third in the next year. But never more than one first. If he were three years younger, then we could talk. I realize that the dude is lights out on game day, and a real leader. But, even if he were available, which he is not, it is a moot point. And, the main argument against is his age. At 33, say he has four more years at a high level. Even five. Does that equate to three #1s? But, like you say, it's great to dream.

@Big Matt BG, How about one you may have forgotten.......Dwayne Bowe. He hasn't officially joined the club yet, but if his "people" don't get it into his head that he is headed down the wrong road, that 9.5 mil may go bye-bye.

Just another take on Manning going to the Donks. I wonder if in retrospect post-draft, if he feels he made the right choice. If he comes to the Chiefs, they are a immediate pick to win the division, and maybe even get deep in the playoffs. The Chiefs have many more weapons at his disposal than does Denver. I still think the Chiefs win the division, but Manning has to be doubting his pick.

Really good read. Sorry about Keuchly, but he was never in the mix. So, if he would have been there at #11, then your disappointment would sting a bit more. But, lets look at it from the perspective of the average fan, of which most of us probably are. When the Poe pick was announced, I damn near fell to the floor. He was the one guy, next to Tannehill, that had been talked about as going to the Chiefs, that I really did not want to see in the Red and Gold. I really thought that we would grab Fletcher Cox, who I believe has a far better body of work with which to judge. And, with another 20 or so pounds added on, he would be about the same physical size as Poe. To anybody who has seen Poe in game situations, he just didn't play to the level of a first round pick. You cannot use your #1 pick on a guy with "upside" and "potential". If he doesn't come in and produce right out of the gate, it could be another disaster on the defensive front. As many have said on this and other postings, Crennel has his work cut out for he and the rest of the defensive staff. I would hate to look back on this in the middle of the season and have to say "I told you so".

@KC MikeG  @merlin_AA From this day forward I am hoping that I have to eat my words. If Crennel can make a player out of Poe, I will be thrilled. But It could be two years before we really know. I think that Gil Brandt is in the very top echelon when it comes to grading players in the draft and beyond. He has said that Poe was at very best second round, just from watching every piece of game tape he and his staff could find. I also have a lot of respect for Mike Mayock, and I realize that all of the people who do this for a living try to leave no stones unturned. So it is not just their opinions as to the ratings of the players that may have their jobs depend somewhat on where they are ranked. So at this point, I will give Pioli, Crennel and the rest of their staff my personal thanks for trying their best to make this a successful draft for the Chiefs and all of the Chiefs Nation. Seeing Poe blowing up the middle and Manning running for his life from Hali, Richardson and Houston will be thanks enough.

If we could only turn back the clock. I really like your picks, but I might doing some minor flipping. Assuming this is pre-draft, and not knowing where anyone of these guys went, I would place Ta'amu in my third spot, move Stephenson back, as I believe the nose is the weaker lineup as to quality players. I would also take Kendricks at 44.

Don't know about two wideouts, but otherwise, good job! Maybe you can get in to see Hunt.

@laddiemorse laddie, pleeeese! Cyrus could be a serviceable fill-in part time, but he has no outside speed, and doesn't get between the tackles with much success. I realize that we needed RB help, and for all of us, I hope he is the guy. But with all the RBs available, he might  have been as good as any that were left.

There is not a single player that the Chiefs drafted that I would have even looked at. We blew it on Poe, and then it just got worse. I think that Pioli is just way over-matched in this draft. He had two chances to move down for extra picks, and passed. He said that he was afraid he would lose Poe. Really? You were afraid to lose a guy with BUST written all over him? Well, we could have gotten Poe and an extra pick. At least the extra would ease the pain a little. Then he takes an O-lineman that was clearly not one of the higher rated guys. Allen will be a serviceable player, but that high a pick has to come in and start. Then it just got worse. We still need an ILB, and help at safety. We got a safety/corner, but why did we need a back that has a history of injuries? I just think that the Chiefs and Pioli got flushed in this one. And as to Poe, this pick was Crennel all the way. Well, Romeo, you and Pleasant got a huge job ahead of you. Now, you gotta' make a player out of him!

@jakl   @Kla5x8 Nah, that would make too much sense. If Poe couldn't play at a mid-level college, how's he gonna' do in the NFL against veteran 320 lb centers and guards like Nicks, Winston, DeCastro and Pouncy?

@MattUkc Cordy Glenn is more than likely gone by the 12th pick. As far as bad picks, I put the Chiefs right near the top, just ahead of the Jets and Seahawks. I was not in favor of DeCastro that high either, but there we two dozen or more picks that the Chiefs could have targeted ahead of Poe. You cannot miss on your #1 pick in the first round. We will know soon.
