Great article! This is one of the best works i've seen in Refractive (creators of Octane) forums. Thanks for author & Ronen for this article! Overcoming Cuda/Hardware or Octane's own limitations sometimes is a hard thing to deal with. I really like the way You manage to combine HDR in PT with Direct lighting, the end result is beautiful (overall the concept is not new as guys use AO pass to enhance renders quite often, but You're certainly the first one tried this technique in OR =) Hopefuly soon we'll see optimised build for Kepler based GPUs on Cuda5 & some of those limitations (speed, texture limit & available vRam..) will be less tight.. Looking way forward, this engine is very promising. & After release of instances we'll probably see more and more of it's usage in archviz. Thanks once more for interesting article!

I love it! Breath taking atmosphere, calm before/after rain..

Remember, when I got the newsletter from CGarchitect with this featured as a pro of the week ..stared for a while at it =) then a bit more.. saved it to my inspiration folder and tweeted =)

it's one of these works that you put in your mind among other master pieces seen around from Visualiser (in capital V =) bb3, peter, kizo, pixela..to start..

It was interesting to see this story-board/tuturial =)

..with time You understand that there's no magic in that, but skillfull work of those that do understand what they are actualy doing or sometimes just dare to explore the posibilities =)

not the c&c, but i'd like to compliment for presentation 'skills' - do like the frame =) small thing that helps to get more impact and overall adding bit more culture.

Kate, that would be kind a generous move, too generous - I think =) but maybe those who really want to have a file could raise some money in form of donation =) for educational purpose.

Ronen, figure out smth, maybe there would be a place in Your shop for one more item =) if Nicolas would agree of course =)

I would like to see the psd too, maybe even not for free =)

amazing! As fas as those giants don't really interested to share their workflows (in detail) it's very nice that someOne put their effort (time and dedication) to get as close or even further with their tests & later on share their knowledge with comunity - do believe that there's a lot of people that would like to say Big Thanks! Count me in =) It was a pleasure to read. Beautiful craftmenship, Nicolas. Looking for further works of Yours!
