Great tips Robby! I know around here at 12 Stars we use the headphone tactic a LOT. We do like some of the openness, though, for fun interactivity like office Nerf wars. ;)

@TVAmy Hmm, that's a great question, but one I don't know the answer to. Vine is pretty limited right now in its capabilities, so my guess is no. But, there might be a workaround or they may expand that capability in the future.

@Naukri Thank you for the comment, I couldn't disagree more with you on the notion that negative feedback is not good for business. Businesses need feedback, both positive and negative, to learn, grow, and offer better products and services to their customers.

Additionally, if a customer wants to leave negative feedback nowadays, there are plenty of places online to do it. Businesses benefit from being able to monitor and remedy that feedback.

@Jane Montgomery Have you considered embedding the YouTube video on your blog and sending your audience there as opposed to sending them directly to YouTube? That is often a best practice anyway since it keeps your visitors on your site.

@rolg1 If you've followed these steps and the ads still appear it may be because of the audio, and if you don't own the rights to that audio there isn't anything you can do to prevent the ads from appearing.

Did you follow these steps and wait 48 hours to see if the ads were removed? Post a link to your video in the comments here and I can take a look as well.

@cjtheisen My favorite shot is the opening shot. Way to get down low and grab some excellent BRoll. So many people would have just shot that from a standing position and totally missed the texture and motion you got from getting down low.

@Jayne Chard You can stop the ads from appearing over the top of your video, UNLESS they are there because you are using copyrighted material in your video. What do the ads say (since I don't see them)?

2 years, 7 months ago on How to Remove Ads from YouTube Videos

Reply

@Jayne Chard When I watch that video on your page I don't see any ads. The advertisements YouTube is referring to are the ads that display alongside your video in the player itself, not the ones that are on the YouTube page. You cannot restrict those from appearing.

I guess I just don't see the ad that you are trying to remove. Sorry I can't be of more help :-/

@Jayne Chard Hmm, did you wait a few days after enabling option 2? I know that it can take some time to see the change. I've even heard of it taking up to three days.

If you've tried that and waited it out, I'm not sure. Can you post a link to the video here and I can take a look?

2 years, 7 months ago on How to Remove Ads from YouTube Videos

Reply

@Jayne Chard Thx for the comment! The option to remove advertisements can now be found by clicking "Settings" then looking at the bottom of the "Overview" page. There should be a section that looks similar to what I showed in the image for my final step on this post. Looks like we need to do an updated post here huh? Let me know if you still have trouble finding it. Oh, and BTW, it can take up 24-48 hours to see the changes.

@Gregory Ciotti Good question! Of course, it depends on what your goals are, but there's always a risk of giving the viewer too many calls to action. If you use the old embed code, you can disable the annotations by adding &iv_load_policy=3 to the end of the video URL.

Does that help?

My perspective - I wasn't selected and sincerely feel no frustration or negative emotion about it. Perhaps it's because I am secure in who I, my team, and my Indianapolis-based company are in both value and influence regardless.

I love our city and respect so many of those selected and not selected, and probably couldn't honestly tell you who was and who wasn't at this point. I also believe (perhaps naively) that we all can accomplish a lot more good for our city and each other united rather than divided.

Just my two cents.
