@b00tz @juanhenry Yankees aren't trading their ace while they're in the playoff hunt and we aren't.
@ih8turteam @The Dude Abides @IBBFTW Logan might be close to the best in the business at what he does. If I were Kasten, I'd double Logan's salary and then try to steal Friedman from Tampa Bay to be the GM.
@ih8turteam @IBBFTW Remember that study by Baseball Prospectus after the 2011 season, when they added the cumulative WAR of all players who played in the majors at anytime from the 2005 season to 2011 season, and the metric was this -- each player's WAR goes to the team that originally drafted and signed him, and you rank the team from 1 to 30. So for example, all of Victorino's WAR from 2005-2011 goes to the Dodgers, while all of Ethier's WAR goes to Oakland.
Anyway, the Dodgers finished in the top three, despite only having one year (2006) of top ten in each round of the draft. That is damn good drafting by Logan.
Don't ask how the Dodgers ranked when they added up the WAR of players signed as free agents or players traded for. I'll just tell you that they were in the bottom three.
@Purple Drank @The Dude Abides @IBBFTW .344 OBP vs RHP is a non-terrible figure for a backup utility guy in the leadoff spot or the 8th spot. The problem is that he's been forced to start too many games because no Crawford, Kemp, Mellis, or Van Slyke in too many games.
@Purple Drank @The Dude Abides @IBBFTW We might not have won yesterday's game with a different left fielder.
@IBBFTW Schu has been a decent utility guy for us, as long as he doesn't have to bat against LHP.
@Purple Drank @The Dude Abides He didn't have to delay the pitcher's spot, though. Hanley hits for Cruzer in the 7th spot, then you put the pitcher in the 7th spot and Hairston in the 9th spot, which is what Donny did after letting Cruz strike out with the bases loaded.
The worst thing about not hitting Hanley for Cruz was that Cruz was subbed out on a double switch in the bottom of the inning, so basically Donny's thinking is, "Cruzer is a better hitter in this spot."
@A WHOLE NEW PURPLE (drank) @Tony Fernandez (SVS Afficionado) If Ned was going to option Kershaw, he would have done it already for another utility guy like Herrera.
@I Alivandi @EephusBlue I'd much rather have Maddon than Scioscia.
@capnsparrow Awesome...stealing :P
@captain communist MSTI is an inappropriate forum for this subject. I mean, shouldn't you be posting male to female conversion advice on a SF Giant board?
@Bob Meripol @LA_Woman Favorite line in the whole movie at 0:05-0:07.
@Bob Meripol I'm not taking it back!
@captain communist Well then SCREW THAT GUY.
Poor @GordonMoody on Twitter seems to be obsessed with why @LakersNation refers to Coach D'Antoni as #pringles. It has sort of been a meme for awhile. http://www.basketballboard.net/mike-dantoni.jpg
Posting it here because no Twitter account.
Damn, he really crushed that. And Mike, it's "rein it in" :)
