@Bobman1 So we're now just assuming that his injury was pre-destined, and it would have happened if he were still with the Colts? Like it wasn't kind of a freak, circumstantial event that would have been avoided if he were 6 inches to his left or right? Let alone in a different state and team? Come on.

@bradicus18 @msteele32 @BigBlackRichard The only evidence to support our Oline being good, right now, is that we have run the ball really well. I do think we're pass protecting a little bit better. I know he's been sacked 7 times, but he also has a tendency to hold the ball too long. I'm saying the jury is still out on the O-line. It's def upgraded though with Cherilus.
To answer your question about why have two pass protecting RB's, I'll refer to Joe Dirt. "Why's the sunrise good? Why are boobs good" Because 2 is better than one! Look what happened on 4th down on Sunday when our #2 RB was asked to pass protect.
I could have sworn someone in this thread said it was bad value, but it may have been a different comment. I don't care how the Browns valued a draft pick. Money is not important? Come on, dude. Money may not be important to you, but to the people who have to sign the checks and mind the salary cap, I assure you, it's very important.
Bradshaw is good, yes, but is he an every down back on that surgically repaired foot? No. Is Dammit Donald Brown the guy we really want backing him up? No. Kerwynn Williams? Nope. Willis McGahee? No thank you. He's a stop gap. We now have a stud RB, who can carry the load when he needs to. He takes pressure off Luck, and will keep defenses more honest.
I don't think I'm missing the point on the Balt/SF argument. What I'm saying is that both those teams have elite RB's, and they both represented their conference in the SB, which makes them winning franchises. Who won is irrelevant.

@GregC @msteele32 @BDiddy It's not like they just gave up on finding those players, though. If Grigs and his staff are doing their homework, and they've given us every reason to believe they are, they can get a quality player in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, hell, even the later rounds if they're lucky. Not to mention free agency and trades. They drafted this year for the trenches, which is what we needed, and probably still do. It's not like they're ignoring their needs. Rome wasn't built in a day, and we need to keep in mind that we are still in rebuilding mode, regardless of how many lucky games we won last year. I think Grigs saw an extremely unique opportunity to upgrade the offense, and help them run the style of offense they want to run. They get him for super cheap on his rookie contract, and we don't have to worry about Donald Brown hanging #12 out to dry anymore. I think we have more than one good OLB, too. Freeman, Angerer, and Mathis, in my opinion are all pretty good. Werner could end up being very good too. Also, let's not completely overlook the fact that this move brings a lot of attention and excitement to the club. This helps sell tickets and get more televised games. From a business standpoint, this was a great all around move.
@GregC @BDiddy I could have sworn we spent our 1st rd pick this year on a pass-rushing OLB.
@GregC @BDiddy You honestly don't consider RB a position of need? We lost Ballard for the season! We have Bradshaw and his surgically repaired, fragile foot, and Dammit Donald Brown, who is a serious liability in pass pro. We upgraded instantly for practically nothing in terms of $. We gave up a likely #20 pick, for the #3 overall pick. And we did it on the cheap! No more watching Donald Brown whiff on blocks on 4th down. See my comments above.
@bradicus18 @BigBlackRichard What makes you so sure the Colts definitively have a bad O-Line? Sure, they've given up some sacks early in the year, but every line needs some time to gel and start playing together. Now we got youngster Hugh Thornton in there, maybe he'll work out. Also, we have two bookend Tackles now, and two RB's with strong pass protection skills. Donald Brown was CLEARLY never going to get it done, moreover, he's a liability in pass pro as he showed on Sunday. Your argument about relative value, is, I'm sorry to say, just stupid. We got the value of a #3 overall pick for what will likely be a mid to late rd pick next year. All the elite players are usually gone by then. This is not even to mention how much money we save! We get T-Rich for 6.5 million through 2015! And we didn't even have to pay him a signing bonus. If we draft someone at no. 15, we probs pay him a hefty signing bonus, AND $8-10 million. This was a shrewd move by Grigson to add elite talent on offense, and give Luck the confidence of a strong running game. Also, he is VERY good at catching the ball out of the backfield. 58 receptions since he was drafted. Also, notice that BOTH Super Bowl teams last year have elite RB's. The reason SF lost, was because the refs were fucking BLIND in the end zone on the last play. Awful PI. Not because the running game isn't important. Anyway, I just have no idea where all your skepticism is coming from. You repeat the words "for a running back" solemnly like it's a useless position like a Punter or something. Come on.
@Nate Dunlevy @hankster
I'm all for building a team to win in the trenches. Since we already have Andrew Luck, I put no real belief in the idea that the team will focus more on the run. It's total malarkey. Luck is going to put up ridiculous numbers. If we can add a threatening running game and defense to that, all the better I say.

I just read somewhere that JMV's Twitter account was hacked. I don't know. Rumors are swirling all over the place, and Polian not flat out denying it isn't necessarily comforting, either. But he said He "honestly doesn't know anything about it" I don't know what to make of that...Nate, what's that sound like to you?

The best vet qb option would probs be Marc Bulger. But it would still be really ugly. I'm scared.

@kasey_junk If CJ was asking for tackle money, then I can understand them letting him walk. I know he was never a great tackle, but I thought he would play pretty well at G and I think his versatility isn't something to be undervalued. If nothing else, he was good for depth. Even Peyton said mentioned him by name when he said he'd take less money to keep other players. He said 2 names, Addai and CJ There's a lot of uncertainty along that o-line right now. Costanzo is pissing me off because he's apparently demanding a fully guaranteed contract or something. Joe Addai doesn't even get that. Who does he think he is? I am usually a fairly patient person when it comes to holdouts in camp, but if he doesn't sign within the next week, than it's gonna take a lot for him to win me as a fan. I was really excited about that pick, and now he's missing valuable practice time.

@35er Rob Parker. And you're absolutely right. that guy is a bumbling asshole. And a complete idiot. He obvi hates the Colts and Peyton. What a biased little biaatch!
I am absolutely DUMBFOUNDED that they let Charlie Johnson walk. WTF is that about?!?! And Costanzo is pissing me off a LOT. Shut up and sign the damn contract!
I found a guy to send me an unedited version of the game. Thanks a lot for your help!

@dmstorm22 nice! thanks man! I'd definitely like to torrent it, but I've never done that before. don't want to DL a virus or anything. I found the road to the Super Bowl on Amazon.com, but it was all edited and the reviews weren't very good. I want the entire game. So, I'm looking to buy off this buy, sell, and trade website that seems fairly legit. THanks for the advice. And if you know of a trusty place to torrent it, can u let me know? Thanks again!
does anybody know where I could find a dvd of the 2006 AFC Championship game? It's my favorite thing in the world to watch. Even better than the Super Bowl win. I was at that game, and it was the best day of my life to date.
@Nate Dunlevy fair enough, I guess I don't really fully understand how the cap works and salary's and cap hits, etc. Seems like you need a degree in microecon to sort through this crap, haha. But Hayden is a good player. I'll miss him
What's w cutting Kelvin Hayden? I mean, I know he's injury prone, but he was only counting for 1 mil against the cap. Bad move, imo
