Ugh. Time and time again you prove to me that you're utterly tone deaf when it comes to music to the point that I don't even know why I respond to you (except that your statements are so ludicrous). You sound to me like one of those people that tries to force their rosy little view on the world. In no way was this performance 'angry'. And yeah, that Keane song has a hopeful melody that belies its lyrics which are pretty damn depressing and bordering on a narrative of someone who is completely broken. It's not a hopeful song as much of "a last ditch effort, I can't care about this world anymore" type of song--which in no way is happy. That 'anger' you so ridiculously misread is built into the tension of the song already and Michelle brought it out. It wasn't her best performance but it wasn't an 'angry' one either. That's just ridiculous to an extreme.

@IdleTime This is not an easygoing and joyful tune, have you ever actually heard it? None of Keane's song are. Jeez, the world isn't made of rainbow and sunshines being crapped out the butts of teddy bears, some people like intense.
@moogrosso No, that would be terrible for her range.

@Nedsdag But Idol is homophobic. Their contestants can't be 'openly gay'. The Voice had a lesbian in its first season finale.
6 months, 1 week ago on Adam Levine responds to outcry over “I hate this country” comment [UPDATE]
Usher and Shakira aren't leaving. Adam and Blake are taking a season off.
You'd think him winning multiple seasons would deter artists from choosing him as luck is unlikely to strike three times.
Yeah, he did. And it flopped, like I predicted he would. He had previously had two albums out that didn't do so well. It's cos he's a boring artist.
Dia may have come in with some fans, but you forget that Season 1 was supposed to be a cakewalk for that boring BBG, Javier Colon. Dia earned her right to be as competitive as he was through her performances.
I think you're seeing too much of this through ADAM RAGE BLINDERS. I actually don't think he was just crying about his contestants. Judith's song sucked, and we think she was overrated, but she wasn't untalented---certainly one song choice shouldn't sink someone. Certainly Sarah, holly, and The Swon Brothers are less talented than her evne if I don't think she should win. America is pretty stupid and their stupidity and lack of patience (or ability to see an artist as a whjole and not just one weak week) worked in my favor this time. Next time it might not. So, I mean, I agree with him.
LOL. He's whiny for sure and I think his apology was disingenous for sure. But I'm glad someone finally stopped catering to the mass general public as if they were unerring GODS. I hate how precious these shows treat the public vote and this show was originally designed to correct that.
It doesn't make his point any less valid. America as a voting bloc is pretty effing stupid. just because it fell on your side this time doesn't make it any less true (I mean, we railed against the stupidity of people all last season).
Certainly, I meant that sarcastically (see my comment at the top). And no, not on a show like this frequented by the mass general American public and housewives in the good ol flyover states can you say anything bad about America--otherwise spittle will be flying and rage will be happening from stupid people. Tons of stupid people.
One neverending truthism about America is that you never diss America, even when that criticism is totally, completely valid.
FLAGS! APPLE PIES! AMUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRICCCAAAAA!
Oh noes! PATRIOTISM! AMUURRRICA, F**k yeah! WE ARE THE GREATEST!!!!
Honestly, I'm glad someone finally said it--even if it is that smug jackwad, Adam Levine. 'America' as a voting bloc on these shows is pretty stupid, which is why I was glad when this show originally kept it in the coaches hands until the finale. 'America' has a really crappy track record on picking successful winners/getting rid of talented candidates--even if this week I agreed with their choices. All this false, moral outrage about dissing the 'nation' is pretty stupid.
I really think there will be a rwevolt against country next week. One good thing about Judith's elimination is its going to spark a ton of hate votes to remove the country artists.
So it'll be Holly and The Swon Brothers next week? Sounds like an easy elimination. Suprised and (and cruelly happy to see Amber score so low).
Me too! Though I think she's a shoo in for the finale.
