Thinking more Devils or Hurricanes 1st.

To the Islanders for Strome is the most clear option imo.

First born being Mario, right?
2 days, 12 hours ago on Saturday Mashup: NHL Draft Lottery – Connor McDavid or Bust
I don't think his wife would allow that
Kessel for Eichel??
Sure we can help you out, Edmonton. Send him to us and we'll package our first, along with the great Bozak, Gardiner, and JVR.
If that's the case, we get the best DMan in a very strong draft.
Initial reaction - I wanted to puke
Sober reaction - McDavid will be going to a team with a (non-rival) Canadian team with bunch of Canadian kids, that we only have o face twice a year. Could have been worse.

I'm guessing "somewhere" means Edmonton. Nobody wants to be stuck there every winter.
3 days, 7 hours ago on Saturday Mashup: NHL Draft Lottery – Connor McDavid or Bust
I thought you meant Hazel McCallion.
1 week, 1 day ago on Brendan Shanahan well aware of past managerial downfalls
Lol. Great minds.
1 week, 4 days ago on Thursday Mashup: Orr’s Send Off, Valiev joins Marlies
We should trade Kessel to Carolina at the draft. Take Strome and Marner.
Not give. I like him. But I think he's easier to replace. Rather keep him another year or two until it's time to pass off the #1 spot to Reilly.
I wouldn't trade Kessel unless it's for a top 5 pick. His skill just isn't availble any other way.
Good to see. Gardiner and Bozak just leave a bad taste because they play so soft. Was feeling hesitant on Hanifan. I guess it's just a Leafs that are soft.
Suter did one year according to his stats.
Alright. I guess they're putting out decent players now. Haha.
Who are the best players to come out of US college hockey?
If skill = equal, and they both play the same position. I'll take the guy with speed over the one with size. That's what today's NHL is built for.
I like the team rallying around Bryan Murray. And vise versa. But I still dislike the sens players.
Not if Calgary keeps coming at them like in the first.
I don't think they're similar players. But I know what you mean.
Evening all. Watching Flames-Kings right now. I didn't realize how skilled Sean Monohan is. Thought he was projected as a less than Toews but he could actually be a greater than Toews. Great hands. Maybe it's his skating that tempered expectations? Haven't seen enough to notice if he's slow or fast or just average on his skates.
Weber and Suter haven't had a lot of playoff success, unlike Doughty. You could blame the teams they've played for. But I say ability to clear the crease is bottom of the list. Doughty keeps the play away from his crease. He is the one Rielly should be studying tape on. He's the more comparable best case scenario.
3 weeks, 3 days ago on Saturday Mashup: 3rd overall within reach, Cameranesi with 2-pt game in UMD regional semifinal win
Oh I wasn't insinuating we are anything like those teams. Just that good defence can be had without being the biggest in the league. As far as I can tell we have one guy that meets both smart and top skater check lists. Rielly. Of course LA is said to be nothing without doughty. Maybe if Rielly develops a mean streak, he could be our Doughty.
LA and Detroit average about 6'1" or 6'2".
What I'd really like us to aim for is the best skating/smartest defence core in the league.
I think we might be able to snag their first rounder if we throw in another piece they're missing. Thinking Polak, not Dion.
3 weeks, 5 days ago on Thursday Mashup: Bailey set to debut, Marlies within a point of playoffs, lottery date set
Bernier would be a good fit in Dallas. Not only do they need a goalie, but Seguin has made it very comfortable there for all D-bag misfits.
Time for Bettman to come to the rescue with a nice little draft lottery gift. I don't think he wants the new Leaf owners to see a drop in revenue for the foreseeable future.
4 weeks ago on GDT: Game #74, Minnesota Wild at Toronto Maple Leafs (7:30 p.m., TSN4)
Hmmmm. Actually it looks pretty easy. And American Netflix too eh?...tempting.
But I stream it from my TV's app. Pretty sure that work around is over my skill set. Plus, it's only like 20 leaf games a year I'll miss. But I guess if we win the draft lottery I'll do it ;)
*should shut down the country. National holiday month.
I guess I'd want to know how much better a skater is Eichle compared to Strome.
And Hall is back to lead the way!
Also all out of market is available. To be clear.
I think they do cover HNIC. But I'll confirm this weekend. My understanding is anything national is available. I Think everything changed this year since Rogers bought all rights. As much as I despise Rogers, this looks like a good deal for fans. Although I'll wait till this weekend to be sure. I did get tonight's leafs game.
I've honestly been watching hockey since I got home. Carolina looked pretty good against Chicago.
It covers all nationally broadcast games, which includes all the playoffs including your local team ( if they made it). The only games you don't get are local team regional rights. So leafs TV or leafs games on TSN regional. Streams right on most smart TVs too. But you better have unlimited data.
Happy - cable free - camper here. Just got gamecenter live for the rest of the season and playoffs. Looking forward to some great hockey into June....also looking forward to the draft, obviously.
Nice patience by Nylander on his goal.
1 month, 1 week ago on GDT: Game #70, Toronto Maple Leafs at Vancouver Canucks (7 p.m., CBC)
He doesn't have a history of concussions, or back problems, or any other injuries that make a player fall off their prime peak performance. He trains like a pro. He adapts his game (albeit, he was a little reluctant at first), and wants to continue to improve his game. I think he'll be a willy veteran with a long career.
That said, he may not fit our long term needs/ cap management. So I understand a trade.
1 month, 1 week ago on Game 68 Scoring Chances: Maple Leafs 4 vs. Sabres 3 (SO)
I like Phaneuf. Trading him only makes sense if you need the cap space. He's going to still be a solid DMan through most of this contract.
Nylander with great vision. Brown with some nice moves too.
Buffalo is an AHL team. Hard to lose to that. I do think Dion should be looking for more fights down the stretch. We could use another injury about now.
Agreed. His shooting has a long way to go.
1 month, 2 weeks ago on GDT: Game #66, St. Louis Blues at Toronto Maple Leafs (7 p.m., CBC)
I think if Edmonton ends up with the second overall, we could trade for it. Dion + our 1st. Maybe nashvilles 1st to sweeten the deal.
What side D does Hannifin play? Just curious.
Phil and Dions contracts aren't a problem outside a dysfunctional organization.
The moment you approach the speed of light....or is that when it slows down?
