I'm curious if you see this backfiring? As fast as meme's go viral, I could see a sincere effort to influence this spinning out of control and end with a lot of ridicule going viral.
Of course as long as it hits your target customer, I guess the other attention wouldn't be a big deal.
Who knows, maybe ridicule about my pessimism will go viral.

@ginidietrich I don't really know what happened to it. I keep meaning to get some pics outdoors to use in my various profiles -- its coming soon!

awesome story. I'm already starting to think of ways to make my customer service more personal.
@ginidietrich To quote you to me on Twitter yesterday "That's what I like to hear!"

@yvettepistorio temptation to click link very strong.... its like there's some kind of force drawing me to it.
you can see my ability to proof read has been destroyed too..... ok, it never existed.
What did you have to mention "Star Wars fan forums"?
Instead of 20 minutes on a productive network, I've given the last 2 hours to arguing if Jango or Boba Fett was the better bounty hunter.
well, I'm gonna say this this list makes my life easier.

The ideas are very compelling. I'm often looking for free publicity but without looking like that's what I'm doing.
I think these tools could be a good tactic to consider for an awareness strategy.

Spin Sucks should do a list of the Top-10 Worst Pitches Received. It would be entertaining for us all.

Not sure my comment made a lot of sense. Basically saying I think this skill set is becoming vital and have been working to increase my abilities here.
Video skills have been growing, but to the point that I could convince more than 5 people watch without offering excessive bribes? .... I am not there yet.

"Publishing: Easy to Do – Hard to Do Well." was reading on another blog a few months ago the suggestion of learning to write, learning to make video, and learning to use those tools to bring in clients.
Also read on Video blogs that I first learned about on SpinSucks that video is hard, bring in the professionals. Am curious what suggestions you have or resources to improve in this area.
just ceased all use of the Twitter website.... was about 50-50 before.

@rachaelseda I agree. Is it a weekly tradition? It needs to be. There are some people in the world making it very easy to have it be a weekly tradition.

Being raised by a single mom and watching how men treated here and my sister, I actually became a bit of a feminist (and hopefully learned a thing or two that helps me to treat the women in my life well).
I'd never thought of it from the mean girls perspective. Did you see the report today that women are actually more misogynistic on MTV than men?

It would be interesting to explore the concept of finding the sweet spot for number of selection options without having inventory size larger than a business can handle.

@jennwhinnemI definitely am more loyal too (guess my post shows that).
There was a post on here a few weeks ago about customer service on a website and the annoying chat pop-ups asking if I need help.
I don't need an associate bugging me just because I'm on the site, but making it easy to ask a question goes a long way. It sounds like Ann Taylor has a great system for doing this in the show room.
@Lisa Gerber yeah, and I use to think that ideas like "provide the best customer service" are difficult to accomplish, but I've talked with countless business owners that prove it is easy if you know what you're doing and what the customer is thinking.
I'm sure there are thousands of books out there that show how to do it.
@ginidietrich As long as you're ok with the fact that you can probably teach me more than I can teach you, I'm all for it!
@jennwhinnem I guess I try to hide it. As a teenager it was quite an embarrassing problem to have. Old habits die hard.
Just put on my reading list for next year and recommended for my company's book club.

My concern with some of these tactics is that you're building your employees' networks instead of building your customer base. I'd be fine with both, but obviously the latter is the priority.
Thoughts on making sure you accomplish the correct goal and don't lose all you clients when you lose an employee?
This story has been making me laugh for a few days now.
