Condolences to Doc.

However, I think he is overrated as a hockey announcer.  After awhile, it just seems as if he is trying to think of as many words to describe how a puck is played as possible.  Eventually, this detracts from the action (for me).

I don't get it.  I see how they could have a claim if the podcast had a team name in the name, but what about Gleeman and the Geek or Bleacher Nation?  What am I missing there?

I do not like Bucci as a play-by-play guy.  Listening to the NCAA tourney with him and Melrose sounded like listening to two analysts.  He doesn't know how to let the game breath, IMO.  I'd much prefer Gary Thorne...or really anyone except that tennis announcer they subjected us to for a Badger hockey game on ESPNU back in October.

You'd think the Final Four could have benefited from two sidelines reporters, one behind each bench.  At least in the Wisconsin-Kentucky game, it was just Wolfson and she did not budge from behind Calipari.

I just can't watch taped Olympic coverage.  I can't watch any sports taped.  If I know it has happened already, I can't stand watching it without looking up what happened first.  Worst of all for me is the terrible editing and overall rhythm of the tape delayed broadcasts.  Commercial breaks come out of nowhere, action is joined at random, etc.  The other day I was watching some random event where they said there would be 6 finalists and then proceeded to show only 5.  WTF?

I don't think the BBWAA has much of a leg to stand on here in light of the Ortiz votes and the fact that they have people who haven't covered baseball in years voting.  I'm looking at you, Rick Gosselin.

Buck, Nantz, Tirico...I can't stand any of them.  Give me Michaels/Collinsworth all day, every day.

Not surprising.  Inbreeding has genetic consequences, in animals and humans.

At what point do they stop calling it '30 for 30'?
