Ahh..... so you're saying you can pull from it anytime you want in retirement, and for whatever you want? But for medical expenses you can pull anytime you need before retirement? (Contributions and earnings?)

If so that's pretty good indeed! I guess I was always under the impression it *always* had to do with medical - even in retirement (which, btw, I'm sure will be a top expense anyways so maybe it doesn't matter by then - hah)

I actually have to sign up to Obamacare this week so I'll see if any plans include! Tons of early retirement bloggers rave about the HSA for sure. And I'm pretty sure there's some hack they do to convert it later on if needed (ie if you never use for medical) but I could be wrong... All I know is that you're right - it's a great tool to consider! And even personal finance bloggers like me admittedly don't know much about it until we read on our friends' sites! ;)

YES!!! The "business" vs "self-employment" is an important one, and one I'm literally just figuring out myself this year... Blogging for a living falls a lot into here btw :) I wouldn't change it for anything right now, but it's def. self-employment vs business until I wise up and hand stuff over to people - which I will prob never do, haha... And self-employment has its perks too.
