One of the best parts of this blog was the Simpsons references - I hope this doesn't mean more wrestling references because uuughhh

Dude you know the Simpsons marathon is going to be over in a few days, right? I mean it's already on season 10 or something so it doesn't matter right now, anyway. You don't need to throw everything away

Comments on DK's blog are rolling in like mad. Too bad they're all of the same quality of people who comment on Penguins facebook statuses. Also couldn't be a less appealing set up.

I'm confused, what are you paying for if I can see this stuff for free?

You guys are fair weather everything. If advanced stats seem cool you do 15 posts about it. If advanced stats say a player you're kind of fond of isn't doing well then advanced stats are for the birds.

@jammonstrald I don't have those memories for more than 80% of players I like.

If anything  I have some fond memories of players like Letestu having memorable plays. Players you don't expect to show up showing up. When you have someone like Neal who shows up 1 out of 3 or 4 games scoring goals, you might not remember it as vividly.

I'm not down in the dumps about this trade, though, I just don't think it's a good one. I hope I'm wrong, I usually am.

@SutterBuckFutter  Do you know every team in the NHLs 3rd and 4th liners? Honestly I'm more of an Otters fan, even, than a Penguins fan. But OK.

@jammonstrald @cwb2208 @brendannn @iacas I've watched EVERY pens game since he came over and he's been a great player. A dick, a shitty human being (eg: Downie..) but a great player for the most part.

If Spaling is a no-name player that none of us know anything about, how is he giving us good depth?

@iacas Really? I caught the exact opposite impression. Keep in mind it's hard to tell anything really with the editing and such in the clip. But it was very much "Do you wanna do it?" and a "Sure" response nearly right away.

No hesitant "Iiiii dunnnnooooo" or anything

I'm excited for the Pens this year, but I disagree that this was a fair trade. I dont know anything about Spaling though, so I'm moreso taking this as Neal for Hornqvist.

@ac2012 @brendannn Why did we need "as good as a backup as were going to get" if we had Zatkoff playing the way he was playing last year? It was an unnecessary move by all means.

Obviously the goal of making the team more balanced has been achieved, but I feel like it was achieved almost by saying "how can we have more depth? Well, if we remove some of our good players on our top 6 then things will seem  more even!"

Think about it, here. We lost Neal (Who is a dirtbag but I think Downie is a way bigger dirtbag) and Jokinen for what now?

We had this Hornqvist - Malkin - Kulemin wet dream we were all fantasizing about, what is that line now? Does it even matter?  Hornqvist - Malkin - Sutter? Goc? Sounds gross any way you type it now, after seeing the "Malkin - Kulemin" idea.

GMJR, so far, is proving to be the same exact character that Shero swindled a few years back. Sky is falling right now.

I'm expecting a post that's all "The sky isn't falling, these signings make sense" - I dont care. We just signed Downie and a bunch of rental nobodies, we could have just re-upped Engo if we wanted someone like Downie.

Can someone explain Greiss to me? Why do we need him, and what are we doing with him? Zatkoff proved more than stable last year, and MAF is getting better and better.

This is silly.

Lame I missed it. You should have a scheduled weekly time or something. Love google hangouts

For the future: the hangout organizer needs to click on their own video thumbnail - so that way if someone else in the call starts talking, it doesnt switch to the person's screen. Whatever persons feed the hangout organizer clicks on is what everyone sees.

Also, there's a youtube plugin for google hangouts so you dont have to share your screen and look at youtube vids - it lags that way plus you get youtube's audio feed in on the call
