Who is the Doctor
Bio not provided
And you have the same here in the USA with BBC America showing new Era Doctor Who with commercials and Retro TV now showing classic Doctor Who with commercials. Even more money that the BBC is bringing in with licensing fees.

@Amy says Peter Davison is the Thirteenth Doctor! Being retired Army myself, I can understand the dislike about the portrayal of military personal but I have never let it bother myself. I feel the Doctor has seen more of war than I or any other soldier will ever see (if he was real). Other than that, I enjoyed the episode, the Daleks were back to being scary real, lots of Dalek history. The Doctor is coming along nicely, looks to be a real tough cookie with a soft spot for Clara still. Clara still cares for him. Danny Pink looks like he may have some demons in his past. Missy is just down right scary in her own right.

The theaters here in the states showed Deep Breath on Monday and I took a friend of mine to the showing. She had never seen a Docter Who episode before ( she is 62) and I only gave her a general overview of the Docter. She loved the show. She thought the Doctor and Clara were just great together and were wonderful characters. I did have to explain Strax to her. And the fez's in the audience. Overall, she had a great time and wants to see more. Mission accomplished - a new Doctor Who fan.

@Moreroundthings It was a good thing he keeled over after confusing Clara and Strax for each other. The Doctor was going to need an eye appointment! But you were right, the shock of losing what you thought was a close friend to now is acting (and looking) like a total stranger, even though you know that it is the same person would be tough to accept for most people. It was going to take time to accept, time to adapt, and what happened - they were immediately thrown into an adventure with life and death decisions. There was no time for Clara or the Doctor to adapt to each other.

I think you might have just been wishing just a bit too much about Clara leaving. Still, the rest of the series looks great. Can't wait to see Deep Breath tonight (I live on the West Coast).

It is called Doctor Who: Earth Conquest and shows at 9pm EST.
The Doctor didn't miss a beat when Clara and Jenny just fall into the room when the Doctor opens the door. I am just looking more and more forward to seeing this episode. Just another day to go.
We have the world tour that Peter and Jenna took on BBC America tonight. An hour long special. Something to pass the time until tomorrow happens.
@DWTV The budget went down and they could only afford one Robot that episode. :)

@whoviandragon @A Friend of the Ood That is OK, BBC America just showed the Doctor Who Ultimate Companion and the Ultimate TimeLord, both hosted by Peter Davison just a few days ago. And we will be getting the Extras as part of the iTunes release the night the episode is released according to the release schedule on iTunes.

@They're all my favorite Doctor I think this is going to be available on iTunes here in the USA as part of the Season Pass if I am reading the description correctly. It spoke of a extra being made available at the end of every episode.
I loved the story and the way it tied together the Doctor's story. I don't wish to give away the ending either.

I am hoping that this isn't true. The death of Clara two years ago in The Snowmen, the loss of the Doctor last year, and the loss of Clara again would just be too much if she dies again. Even if she just walks away it would be just as emotional.

12 should have spanked Clara for that remark.
What Doctor Who has done with the "Early Screenings" has brought the movie premier to television. How many TV series do you see get this level of movie releases? Here in the States it is unheard of. I would imagine that GB doesn't see it either. The advertising that the media provides from each of the screenings is priceless.
While there are the negatives of early release of spoilers, most of the times they can be avoided. What I think is that the dates should be closer to the actual release date IMO. So I would think that the advantages from the publicity out way the disadvantage of the spoilers.

I think I am going to have to hide in a box and pull the flaps closed until the 23rd so that I don't have any spoilers between now and then. It is getting difficult without just shutting off the computer not to be some what teased and spoiled with all of the hints and trailers and teasers out there. Once you add them up, you almost watched the episode, or it feels like it! Yet we have the US season for all of the new series getting ready to start next month and not as much of a peep out of them yet for the new shows. Enough of my rant. I am going to hide and try to keep up to date without spoiling much. I just don't have the willpower to stay off the boards. I just have to know whats going on. I am just too big of a fan.
Sorry to rant on all of you. Don't know what went over me. Usually I am so upbeat, or at least try to be. Anyway, It is only another two weeks until this is over and the series starts to air.

The 50th wasn't shown in Las Vegas. Deep Breath is being shown in multiple theaters in the Las Vegas valley. So I will be attending this showing just because I wasn't able to attend the 50th event and I would like to attend one even though I will have already seen the show on TV by then.
4 weeks ago on Does Deep Breath Really Deserve a Theatrical Release?
That is why I purchase the show on iTunes. I might get it later that night, but it is a commercial free version. I rather pay for a season pass and get them delivered after midnight Sunday Morning than to have to watch the commercials.
I fully agree with you. I can't wait until the new series starts to see the sparks fly. Besides, Clara is the girlfriend I wish I could have, her or Sarah Jane are both my type of girls.

I think it is just wonderful that Capaldi is just as big of a Whoivian as anyone here. How many of the actors could we have said that about who have played the Doctor?

My favorite Doctor is Six in the Big Finish Audios. But my favorite companion is Clara. Best episode is of the new era is Dalek of series 1. Have to forgive me about my choice of Doctors, just how I feel, he gives a great performance IMO.

Something called "Clara and the Movers". Clara makes the TARDIS mad by asking it to be a moving truck. Hilarious results breaks outs when the TARDIS dumps Clara's stuff into the time vortex.

1 month ago on Peter Capaldi clocks in to Entertainment Weekly
What is so amazing is reading the comments of the posters here, they are from all extremes about the episodes. We are all fans, we all love Doctor Who, yet we can watch the same episode and react differently to that episode. We are all different people, and have different likes and dislikes. It makes sense that we will react differently to an episode in different ways. Not everyone will like the same things. It doesn't make my or your opinion any less valid.
Everyone just needs to step back and remember that this is just a TV show, not an UN debate toward a Middle East peace treaty.
My opinion, very seldom is any episode in the "perfect" category. I can find flaws in most episodes but that doesn't necessarily prevent me from enjoying the episode. Same way that I don't place many episodes in the "trash" category either. Overall I gave 7A a 7/10 score. I enjoyed it, but it didn't walk on water either.

The BBC knows what they are doing. They are trying to make break into the studio early and watch it before anyone else. But don't do it. They have a squad of Jadoon waiting for you and you will have to see the evil one -The Moffat. He will make you watch hours of American TV like Get Smart and Hogans Heros.

And where was Clara? Oh, she couldn't make it as she was wearing a dress. It wouldn't be lady like to climb up on the TARDIS.

@drjakeyoung The BBC is releasing a limited edition 50th Anniversary Collectors Edition that I am hoping that has the deleted scenes included. It is to be released on 8 September and we will find out then.
It may not be as special as the 50th, but it is a nice reason for a fellow whovians to get together and celebrate Doctor Who. And that is alway something that should be appreciated.
This just adds excitement to the brand and may make a 8 year old walk by and ask, "Who is the Doctor?" starting him or her on his journey to the unknown worlds that the Doctor can visit.

I had never heard of Big Finish until late last year and bought my first audio download from them to see what the big deal was. I fell in love with them right away and started to spend lots and lots of money with them. Now I have the entire main range collection, the entire 4th, and 8th Doctors collections and now working on the companion chronicles. Also have the 50th Anniversary collection. Being retired gave me the time to listen to them.
I have enjoyed most of them, there are always ones that I enjoy more than others, but it have found that BF always put time and effort into each and everyone of there productions. They never tried to take the easy way out.

@sontaran17 But the way he might go about approaching those goals could alienate Clara and others around him. His "darker approach" may only be personality related vs action related and if personality based would only affect those around him.
