@The Not-So-Lazy Cat: Clara Detective I will have to watch for it.  It isn't as much a theory as a bombshell.

@The Not-So-Lazy Cat: Clara Detective I would never call her ordinary.  She is far from ordinary (at least now).  But I know where you are coming from with your statement and I do agree with it.

But I think any companion drops out of the ordinary category quickly and Clara much faster than most.

So many possibilities, so many hints, now such a headache.  Will anyone have any fingernails left before next Saturday rolls around?  Clara has problems, the Doctor has problems, they don't seem to have each others back.  But UNIT is there to save the day unless they get DELETED!  Hope they have a bigger ray gun than the Cybermen do.

Lazy Cat, you did great again, you deserve a belly rub and some catnip for all of your hard work.

@Amy Pond: Seb Detective Or has Clara been deceiving herself?  I am laying odds on that she has been deceiving herself more than deliberately lying to others (besides the white lies to Danny and the Doctor about her travels with the Doctor).  She has a complicated life, and if Missy is pulling strings, then something could unravel at any time.

David and John, you pretty much summed it why I only gave it a 6/10 myself. It was pretty to look at, but it just really didn't fill your mind with a clarity of vision. You just didn't care much about the forest. Maybe I couldn't see the forest for the trees. But you were right, the trailer was the most interesting part.

How tough is this? Mathieson is very good and Flatline continued the story of Clara and her development into what I call "Doctor lite". While I am sure that he was given his marching orders from Moffet, he still did a marvelous job with both episodes. I went with Flatline.

I agree. But then, everyone has there own personal taste as to a perfect episode. I will never fault someone for there decision for rating an episode a particular score as long as they are consistent and honestly giving the same scoring profile to the other episodes. I have been rating this season fairly highly myself as I have been enjoying series 8 very much. It has the potential to be the best series since Doctor Who returned to the air in my opinion.

Amazingly, Big Finish did a story with the 5th Doctor with the - "Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright; In the Forests of the Night" line. The story was The Emerald Tiger. It was released in April 2012.

TARDIS toy sales will increase this Christmas.  Every kid and fan will want one.  That being said, will Clara make fun of the Doctor in his tiny TARDIS?  Of course our Clara will, how could she pass up the chance for some comedy.

@Mark McCullough @TardisBoy I think it was dealing with the idea that we were close to witnessing the breakup of the Doctor/Companion relationship, at least until the last 10 minutes of the episode.  It was adding an underlying tension to the mystery of the Mummy/Gus problem.  Clara was sad, she was on her last "hurrah" with the Doctor, now we have to see where the lies that shield her from the truth lead us.

Mark, you did a terrific job on the list.

A wonderful summary. I am going to have to go back and re watch the episode as I missed the Jelly Babies. But I had been out in the sun all day at the Red Bull Air Races and I was tired when I watched the show so I am amazed that I even stayed awake during it. But I really enjoyed it myself.

I would think that BF would desire to have the license for the new series as the actors from the classic series will not be with us forever. The new series would give BF a forward direction with new actors and stories with the new Doctors and companions.

Being a retired Army NCO myself, I can say that I dislike war as much as anyone, in fact probably have reason to have dislike it more than most. But I really don't like the Doctors dislike of Danny just because he is a soldier. But he seems to be consistent so while I may not like it and find it to be a character flaw for this incarnation until he regenerates agains he may not change his personality about this point of view.

But you are right his previous incarnation as the War Doctor probably does have a major impact on his point of view to his outlook to military personal. it may remind him too much of himself.

@YaelMoise A lot of times when he is shown being dramatic, you can hear hints of bagpipes in the music.  I think that is where they are going with his theme music, a Scottish theme.

Perhaps those that say they are having problems hearing him should turn the blender off during the show and make the margaritas later. I don't seem to have a problem with hearing him most of the time, but I will say that the mix levels are much better on the iTunes release than on the BBC America showing. The dialog is much easier to hear in the iTunes version.
