@couvy @Nate Dunlevy @travismj33 The point is everybody on CA is never wrong.  I enjoy statistical analysis a lot but the statistical  analysis in Football is much more subjective than an individual sport like baseball.   I think the football metrics are getting better every but will never be baseball like.   I don't mind the critical comments about the team at all.  You can spin football stats to serve your needs.

I think the CA staff wants to have a one dimensional team that won in the regular season but failed in the playoffs.  The CA needs to admit when they make a mistake.   This Colts team can play in any environment.   If the Colts can play like Stanford did against Oregon I would be happy.  Kinda worried about the Rams.

I'm not buying the stats that indicates that the packers are 1 and the Colts are 3 in run blocking.   I never understood the infatuation with 'Pretty in Pink'.  ordinary at best in run blocking.  The metrics in football are getting better but don't come close to baseball.

@Bobman1 @lucktab As I mention the Colts were a one person team.  He has to take responsibility for the those loses.  The Colts were more dependent on one person than any other team.  All the credit to Rivers for his performance in the playoffs.  I will say that the Super Bowl against the Saints was poorly coached.  We can all agree that his regular season numbers are great, but fall short in the playoffs.  I will be the first to admit that he was asked to much for the team.

Sounds like a peyton apologist to me.  Blaming the defense for playoff losses is ridiculous.  The Colts were built as a one man team so everything is his responsibly.

Game 1.  The defense stops the dolphins in overtime and the Colts miss a field goal.

Game 2.  Peyton had two chances at the end and did not get it done.  The Colts lost to Billy Volek for goodness sake.

Game 3.  Peyton had three possessions in the 4th quarter and no points.  The defense only gave up three points in the second half prior to overtime.

Game 4.  A one possession game until the ill fated pick 6 by Tracey Porter.  You can’t make that throw in the Super Bowl.

Game 5.  Only 16 points in the game.  Peyton scored 27 points a game during the regular season and allowed 23 a game.   The defense did its job.  The game was at home also for Peyton.

I would say that Peyton may be greatest regular season quarterback of all time.  The defense has probably played better in the playoffs than the regular season.  Peyton has failed to live up to his regular season numbers

@Payton @silentkman @GregC @Robson2013 Look at the quarterbacks for the teams,  Ponder and Locker.  Its Quarterback league but he can't throw all of the time.  I'll be happy with passing 55% of the time.   In Colts Super Bowl its an onside kick and a interception by the great one that lost that game.

@GregC @silentkman @Robson2013 IMHO 60% is too much passing.  To beat a good team you have to run.  In the Super Bowl, The Ravens and the 49'ers ran half of the time.

I don't need you to go over any stats.  Seems like some people want a CFL or Arena football league offense.

@Nate Dunlevy @silentkman That is so funny about the Oline.  ask Ryan Grigson about the Oline.  Weedan was sacked 36 times vs Luck 41.  Weedan was hit 83 times and Luck 116 last year.  The point is at this rate Weedan will be hit 256 times this year.  The Colts can't survived if Luck is out.  I think the team will be much better than the 2011 team if the doomsday scenario occurs. You guys are expecting too much from a team that has been completely turned over.

I'm sorry if this has already been covered, Luck's final season with Pep he only threw 45% of the time.   That was surprising to me.   His YPA in college was 8.71, in the pros 6.98.   The completion percentage in college was 71%.  Pep will be  passing the ball more (I hope 56/44 ratio).  His receivers at Stanford were average at best.

@18to88 I'll give you Mathis and Angerer.  Freeney was ranked 32nd this past year year in DE play and Mathis was 12th which is good.  The problem is the Colts DE were built for playing with the lead.  They never led.

I never heard the quote " "Yeah, but we are on the rise! Look how good our special teams are!".   I would like to see it.  The point is the proper way to build a football team is to be decent in all three phases of the game.

The 49'ers were great on Defense and the special teams were in the middle and almost made it to a Super Bowl.  Jim harbaugh knows how to build a football team.  One of the big reasons the 49'ers did well was because they +28 on turnovers.

What was the cohesive strategy?

The fact is that the change was needed.  I really saw it during the Super Bowl lost the to the Saints.

If i'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it.  I'm really looking forward to 2012.

This sounds like I love peyton Manning no matter what article.  I'm really excited about the chance to be become a regular football team again.  My prediction for last year was 8-8 with the golden child and no playoffs.  everybody outside Peyton apologists  could see that this was a bad football team.  The team had no discernible talent.   I heard a quote from MJD that basically said the same thing.  How can the defense be any worse than last year?  The special teams return/coverage units were an embarrassment to pro football.   The team is headed in the right direction.   I wish Peyton nothing but the best of luck, but he was saddle with bad football players.  Last year was the best time for the Colts to bad with new CBA.   I hate to imagine Luck's price without it.   I'm more excited about the team than I have been in years.  After Luck, I'm hoping far a CB or a DT.  This team will be better than last year.  I'm ok with five wins for a team moving in the right direction.

I like Peyton as much as the next guy, but to try to deflected the blame from him is ridiculous. He is the Quarterback. he gets all the accolades when they win, but now it's not his fault. The analysis was interesting. Football is suppose to be a team game but Peyton and the Polians made it a individual game. I guess it's nobody's fault that the Colts lost. The Super Bowl lost to the Saints was a product of horrible coaching and a horrible throw to an injured player. I want the Colts to be come a team again.

The punts were the right call by the Giants. Sometimes you have play field postion football. The punting was great by the Giants.
