By doing the same thing over and over again, your customers also get used to this, and when you do have something really important to shout about, to your customers it just looks the norm.
Its more to do with confidence. I believe if your product and service's is good, you can be as transparent as you like because you have nothing to worry about.

Danny also would like to add, trusting your customers, it may seem odd, but there's a level of trust between you and your customers, and vice versa, that's the reason why the customer is hiring you, or is coming to your store. They have faith and trust in what you provide and offer.
I can understand, especially for an SME business, with so much happening and to do, it can be quite a challenge to keep up with Socail Media activities, if a business owner is overwhelmed and struggling to keep up to date with their social media activities, may be they can delegate to one of their employees or educate one of the employees to do this, or outsource to a reputable firm.
