@paulcarr I guess the point is that in Sara's letter she makes it sound like she has done the right thing in correcting what seem to be clear factual errors in the reporting. But if someone did what I did and lands on the original article via a Google search about Beachmint, they would read the amended story and the linked "update" and would almost certainly draw the incorrect conclusion that the founders were out or were about to be tossed, and that no one was disputing this but the founders. That is not a true correction.
And for the Accel thing, thank you for the correction, although it looks like he is the chairman of the board, so not sure exactly what you were driving at. Do you think it is more likely the board is lying since that guy is not a partner at accel?

I feel like I am missing something. If the entire board of the company signed a letter saying the original story was completely false, as a reader I feel like it is Pando's job to explain why you are not weighing that information more heavily than what you heard from your "sources" (and why you don't feel comfortable doing a mea culpa). Does Pando think the board (including partners from Accel and NEA) is lying? It sort of seems that way. It also seems disingenuous to me to say you have made corrections, but not mentioning the board letter in the "update" you link to from the original article - making it appear even now that only the "ousted" founders are disputing the facts. I generally like your reporting, but in this case it seems like team Pando is being really defensive, and instead of taking the high road, admitting mistakes and moving on, you are half admitting them while continuing to sling mud. Doesn't look good.
