Vincent - 9/10 - Deserves all the praise it gets in my opinion. It is such a beautiful take on mental illness. Helped my sister, who has depression, gather strength in some of her darkest times.
The Lodger - 8/10 - The weakest one here, but such a unique episode that deserves some love. So charming. And honestly, one of the only episodes of Who where I don't hate the one-off characters XD
The Pandorica Opens/Big Bang - 10/10 - As if anything needs to be said
Christmas Carol - 9/10 - Such a heartwarming, amazingly Christmassy special!

In my opinion the best block of episodes in the modern era.
@supermoff Agreed :) I love Doctor Who, but series 5 is something else for me. It's the one I'll always think of now when I hear the name. It's what turned me into a hardcore fan.

That being said, hoo boy is Series 5 something else.
Three absolutely stellar episodes and two adequate ones imo.
I'd kill for Amy and Ten. The amount of scottish!
2 months, 1 week ago on What if… Doctors Were Paired With Different Companions?
Not a big fan of series 1, but I admit the finale is spectacular. Definitely 8 and 9 respectively :)

Just gotta say it is so wonderful to hear the positive reaction to Gomez's master. Everyone just looked at what mattered: Her portrayal of the character, and not her gender. She kicked butt and that's all that matters.

@Malohkeh @Anthony Retondo @SirTrey She did have an appearance though, which bothered me personally.
5 months, 1 week ago on New Who Finales in Perspective: Series 4
@Malohkeh @Anthony Retondo @SirTrey Thankfully XD
@SirTrey @Anthony Retondo I think he definitely excels at some character moments, but I suppose just the idea that everyone from his series somehow got to be in the TARDIS at the same time and each had a mechanism to control for some reason was just so forced to me.
@Clara Bosswald wants a Kate Stewart Spin-off @Anthony Retondo I guess it's because that's my personal biggest problem with the Davies era: The reliance on nostalgia, but also the really poor secondary characters. I know most would disagree though.
Sadly the worst finale in my opinion and one of the worst episodes of the series. They throw in absolutely everything and then rely on nostalgia and familiarity with characters to drive the charm. It just feels so awkward and sloppy to me. The scene where everyone pals around, controlling the TARDIS makes me cringe. XD
Love it. Doctor Who doing one of the things it does best: Changing the status quo and being ambitious.

@JacobHaggerty @Scootersfood, Secret Agent of C.L.A.R.A. If you want to criticize it I'd say a more valid criticism is that Moffat made the Master female solely to change things up and prove that we can have a major, central Timelady in the mix. He probably didn't do it for story purposes. And honestly, I am okay with that. This is new and ambitious and I love it. The gender shouldn't matter at all.
Oh man, so a two-parter AND a 60-minute finale? Now that's what I'm talking about. Time to pace itself, breathe and establish an emotional connection!

God I want that Tennant hairstyle so badly XD
10 months, 3 weeks ago on The End of Time: Why it Needs More Love
@supermoff @Anthony Retondo I would agree as well! I love ambition. Even when it fails I like taking risks more than I like just playing it safe and succeeding.
11 months ago on Doctor Who Could Have Ended With Tennant
with certainty* XD
If there is one thing that I can say without certainty (and I imagine that many would agree) it is that Doctor who — If not better or worse now — has certainly gotten more ambitious the past four years.
Having no two-parters again would be a humongous mistake.

"Day of the Doctor" certainly wasn't my favorite Who episode (Not showing any violence whatsoever in the war sequence was a huge detriment to me) but it is a tremendous story and one I am more than proud to call the 50th anniversary :)

While I agree with the rankings completely, I can't say I agree with the anger. Haha

@Planet of the Deaf @Anthony Retondo Wow, I love that theory XD
12 months ago on A Bad Wolf or Just Plain Bad? Addressing Rose Criticisms
@TheCapaldiMasterplan @Anthony Retondo Agreed, wholeheartedly :) He was okay I guess, but we didn't see much of him. Jackie and Mickey on the other hand...
A character who had the interesting idea of a family dynamic added… It's just too bad I hated every member of her family and Mickey XD
Considering the fact that I've heard fans say that Davies era is too soapy and Moffat's isn't and also the exact opposite point of that, I'd say that neither really is. XD
12 months ago on RTD on Doctor Who Becoming “Too Soapy”
A great read! Though I can't say I agree with some of the ratings. "The Waters of Mars" is a masterpiece, but I've just never been fond of "End of Time." I can't get passed the fact that the Master turned into a crazy lunatic, rather than a maniacal, clever villain. I also find him turning everyone on the planet into him quite silly and the ending to be a bit too self-congratulatory. And why was Martha with Mickey? I felt so bad for her.
12 months ago on New Who: The Story Thus Far – 2008-2009 Specials
@Liana21 I'd absolutely agree! One of my main issues with the RTD era is the unlikeable characters. I found Rose and Jackie quite annoying, Mickey is my least favorite character in the series, Martha felt underutilized and though I loved Jack his appearances were too scarce. However, Donna was such a treat. She remains my favorite companion and through her I found the Tennant era finally found a perfect mix. That's why I really do love series 4. (Even though nothing touches series 5 for me)
1 year ago on Series 1-7 Face-Off Results: Everything Else (Episodes 9-13, Specials)
Great results! I am certainly fine with having series 4 as number one. I would maybe have it as my number 1 if I didn't think it had a horrendous finale. The finale is pretty darn important IMO and that brings it down a few pegs.
@gunslinger19 Yeah, "Journey's End" would be in my nightmare run no doubt. That ending when they are all crowded around the TARDIS, piloting Earth back makes me cringe. It's just so awkward.
@Galax That is true. Though I can safely say that the final scene of "The Rains of Castamere" is leagues more dramatic than any of these Doctor Who episodes, the episode itself was nothing too special.

Ooooh gosh, that is tough. Few things beat the Red Wedding for dramatic presentation.
@The Genie @Anthony Retondo Hahaha got it! Just in that particular episode.
1 year ago on Series 1-7 Face-Off Results: Dream Run (Episodes 9-13, Specials)
@The Genie This has nothing to do with your opinion on the matter, but it's funny how you say you can't connect with Clara at all, but she is your icon. Haha Big fan of Jenna I'm guessing?
Wow! Is this interesting… I am actually really really surprised by this. Not only did Moffat nearly clean house, but his run also held the majority and series 6 was both the most nightmarish and the most dreamy according to the fan base. Very fascinating.
@supermoff @Notsosmartguy Oh yes, if there is one thing I find true about most fan bases, it is that the negative opinions are always far more vocal than the positive ones.

I gotta admit, mine would have had many series 1 episodes. XD

I'm a little bothered that Smith seems to be insulting his era a little now that he's left :(

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Midnight wins. People seem to praise that episode more than any other in Doctor Who.

And Moffat could have given this answer in the show, but as he's always said, he likes to assume an intelligent audience.
