He's trying so hard not to laugh, and Al Trautwig thinks Zucc is being entirely serious. The other players always talk of Zucc's sense of humor, now we finally get to see it

Gotta love that kid's approach to fighting. Put the head down, and throw absolute BOMBS, connect with the face; lather, rinse, repeat.

Looking at the replay of the Miller non-goal a few times, watch the timing of his skate moving back. The puck hits Mason as his foot is already back. His hands are getting ready to one-time the puck. According to the NHL rulebook, rule 49.2, "A puck that is directed into the net by an attacking player’s skate shall be a legitimate goal as long as no distinct kicking motion is evident." (From NHL.com)
I think Toronto was hand-cuffed on this rule.
USA Hockey rules for youth hockey would have allowed more leway, and would most likely have allowed the goal to stand. Rule 614d of the USA rulebook reads "The goal shall not be allowed if the puck has been kicked, thrown or otherwise deliberately directed into the goal by any means other than a stick", with an emphasis on deliberate kicking motion.
Miller did not act deliberately, and thats a tough call to make, but it is technically the correct call. You'd hope Toronto just had a LITTLE bit of common sense about it

@CJ @CJ_Matthews If we were to boycott for LGBT, that would alienate congressional members - supporting or opposing an issue like that might lead to being voted out by their constituents. Boycotting because of Snowden is much easier

@KevinDeLury @BrendyJohnson Still haven't tried them. Am I missing out?
I won 42 bucks on a $2 bet for a horse to win/place/show. think it was a 6:1 odds. not a huge gambler though. I have a friend who bet 20 bucks on a 9 way parlay and won like $33,000

Forget how ridiculously big Garth Snow's shoulder pads were (for the record, there is a picture online tagging one shoulder as named Pedro, and one as George) look at how ridiculously small the rest of him is - he looks like a child in those leg pads. Its like a child wearing his little brothers pants, but his father's circa 1980's suit jacket with massive amounts of shoulder padding

Here's my thinking: If MSG is getting evicted in 10 years, (obviously) they plan to ask for an extension of their permit. In 11 years, the Rangers may not have started construction of a new arena, hoping for an extension at the current location - we could be bumming ice from the Devils or the Islanders...

@FREE LINDBERG The Barclays Center cost 5 Billion to build. I would imagine its at least around there (side note: paying 20% of that for renovations...?!?!?!)
@thedude27 Eminent Domain - its in the constitution. Also, MSG is entitled to "fair and just compensation" meaning, they should receive a complete refund from the city. If not, I would imagine the Dolan's are going to sue NYC. After all, MSG is one of a few things:
A) Privately owned, and is one of the few buildings in NYC that actually IS privately owned
2) The worlds most famous arena
d) An iconic image of NYC

Almost forgot- I was at the Rangers/Devils game where both Hank and Fatso had a shutout thru OT. The rangers eventually lost on a shootout, but watching the two best goalies in the league playing at the top of their game on the same night was special. Both goalies made close to 50 saves. . It only ended eith a Patrick elias snipe in the 3rd round of the SO. to thos day, it was the best game I've ever seen in person

Since this is the open thread: does anyone play NHL 13? Ive been playing a lot the past few days, and noticed that JT Miller is pretty much the best sniper in the game. Its like he is the updated version of the NHL 94 Jeremy Roenick. UNSTOPPABLE
I still say the best thing Scott Gomez ever did as a Ranger was setting up the Sean Avery PP goal after Avery instigated the Avery Rule

If Richter isn't HOF, Hank isn't. Hank has similar GAA and SV%. With less wins, and playing in a lower scoring era than MR, Hanks numbers aren't as impressive. Love hank, has to prove himself further. 14 seasons in, like Richter and Hank might be HOF, for now, he isn't
