@TylerDogs83 @sefy76 @Contrabardus Your a contradiction in terms , lol
I haven't got time to catch up on the details in the latest conversations, but firstly! SM2, Zod was not killed and was not intended to be so by Superman! they might not show his final fate but we know from the directors intentions and motivation for this Superman that he WAS NOT KILLED. There really is no arguing it! its a fact. Those first two movies crafted everything brilliantly, especially showing superman having superior intelligence I might add!! which MOS iCOMPLETELY misses! in fact MOS Superman is kind of an idiot, a complete moron.
A question, or maybe a statement. In regards to the difference between now and the 80s marketing and earnings etc
If a good director basically remade a faithful copy of Donners movie, with new actors and with very little other changes other than an update to the suit and the latest CGi to help create the fight scenes. This movie was then put up against MoS, I say it would murder MoS at the box office!
because it would be a Superman that people actually in their heart of hearts want to see, apart from simply being a far superior story and presentation. MoS is a hideous bastard that some jacked up American patriot thinks people want to see (no offense to Americans in general) I find the MoS superman hopeless, joyless and completely unlikable. The editing, pacing and CGi is terrible, the casting is mostly laughably obvious and the studio clearly aren't that happy or confident with the rendition as he is not even getting his own sequel!!. Do not try and say its Superman with Batman appearing because it isn't! Its BATMAN vS SUPERMAN , they knew they had to throw in a curve ball to make any sequel with this lame duck Superman profitable. All my own opinion of course. Glad I got that off my chest again.

@ranting_swede Yes, I went to see Pacific Rim last Friday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unlike any film with Goyer and Nolan attached it isn't pretentious, it isn't trying to be a smart arse, its a simple story, strong likable characters, massive robots fighting massive monsters, fantastic CGi with a happy ending!. Yes the dialogue was so, so and a bit cheesy, buts its supposed to be isnt it! its a HD B movie. It was never trying to bullshit me like every Nolan film I have watched, (inc all the Batman abominations.)
@Pop Sequentialism wooahh hang on! got to pull you up on this " There are so many plot holes and instances of foolishness in Man of Steel that it's hard to believe Christopher Nolan had any hand in it at all". Nolan's Batman movies are FULL of plots holes and foolishness, not to mention terrible editing and scene transitions. The first 10 min of Inception is the worst editing I have ever seen.
p.s. Man of Steel is an abomination

Well well well!...I wonder if MoS had been better received, would we be getting this team up sequel?. Looks a lot more like "oh shit! we need something better than our limited imagination and skills can muster up! so best throw Batman into the mix!". Just a thought
As a fan of the characters (not the awful writers/director involved) I look forward to seeing another rendition of Batman, but the damage is done to their idea of the Superman character so I have little interest in the sequel and look forward to a reboot in a few years.
My guess is they will just stuff some other bloke into the crappy Nolan Batman suit!
@ty19c @DannybohyI should do some research before taking my kids to see a SUPERMAN movie, really? is that what the world has come to!. This movie is a 12A!! in the UK, Nowhere in the trailers does it indicate that I will see cold blooded neck snapping murder!. It wasn't needed in 5 Superman movies before it after all!. If the neck snapping scene was changed/removed the movie could have received a PG in the UK , which would be more suitable for a Superman movie. I would assume by your ignorance that you don't have children!, during the less climate UK weather they happily sit through the Donner movie every other weekend! just they will sit and watch any TV show they enjoy and they will sit through movies at the cinema just fine! . You like the Donner movie and they are classic, yet you find them boring! that makes no sense, you like boring films?
@ty19c @Dannybohy Then they clearly made MOS for people just like yourself, which is a shame for everyone else.
The best part of SM:TM is the fact it takes its time and it builds up to Clark becoming Superman!. It doesn't miss anything for the sake of getting to the punch line quickly! and when it does peak and Jor El gives his final speech before Superman flies out of the Fortress its a fantastic pay off and still the single best scene in any Superhero movie to date! in fact its a great scene from movie history full stop. I feel kind of sorry for you that you don't see it like that, but hey you have MoS an now and another depressing and pretentious sequel with no doubt another boring Batman portrayal to look forward to?
@MichaelRTrice @ty19c @Dannybohy Like I said the UK ratings are completely different , please keep that in mind it is very different in my circumstances.
@ty19c @sefy76 AHEM!! actually in Avengers the lead character deliberately and purposefully made every effort to protect and save the civilians and keep the fighting in as small an area as possible. its all in Captain Americans battle plan dialogue in that scene.
@ty19c @trans8010 @Dannybohy You think its sad that people notice terrible transition and cuts and general bad film making!. I would argue that its more worrying that you didn't notice it!. On a side note, I watched District 9 again last night! the CGi is flawless as is the cuts and transitions, character development and general storytelling!...considering the budget differences, what is MoS excuse?....
@DrakeJaeger I cant stand any of the Nolan Batman movies, they are dreadful, depressing and pretentious beyond belief (just like MoS). Add to that the terrible dialogue, awful acting and the worst fight scenes ever put on film! yeh the worst batman portrayal in any medium in my book! and that includes the 60's tv series!. Putting fantasy character in the bogus 'realistic' worlds is a pretentious pile of nonsense! It might have fan in the young and angst twitter generation who are used to depressing news and death everywhere, but its a betrayal of the original creations and the creators would be spinning in their graves imo
@trans8010 @Another_Dude_Abides @Dannybohy its terrible, the one from Supes and Lois in the interrogation room, then cut to middle of desert was the most shocking!!.. the editing though out is so fucking bad

@BCA It is easy, it was done over 30 years ago. Superman is Superman and the story essential remains the same, otherwise its not Superman is it. You cant tell the Superman story without covering what you call "same old, same old". So the whole concept of making excuses that its a new /Modern take on Superman is flawed. A terrible movie is a terrible movie. This movie took out all the elements that make Superman the story great! dipped it in gloom and added mass murdering and completely arrogant and unlikable Superman.
@sefy76 @GregArrigotti Sefy is right! I wish I had never taken my kids to see this movie. I now have to train the memory from their minds with multiple views of Donners version and EVEN yes EVEN Superman Returns, which post MoS I genuinely have a new appreciation for!...
@jparlee321 Synder is a fucking idiot then who doesnt understand SUperman. The idea is that he if raised with the moral to know that he shouldn't just break someone neck. In MoS they raised a fucking idiot! as the HOW IT SHOULD OF ENDED demonstrates! why didn't he just go and see Jor EL once Zod arrived?? he could have told him about the Phantom Drive there and then! and Clark could have ambushed Zod!!!....
that the problem Roger! its not a fun comic book movie!!.
I took my 6 and 3 yr olds to see it! while the movie lost me in the first 20min, they where enjoying it for the big screen spectacle! then the end Superman breaks the guys neck!! what the F**k!! That isnt Superman , not a Superman any decent human being would actually want to see! . I am ok with it! i have explained to my sons that the film is awful and the real Superman would never ever do that and just put the Blu ray of the Donner movie on for them the same weekend :)
@Another_Dude_Abides @Dannybohy @sefy76 I can assure you I have missed nothing. There was nothing to miss because the most important scene (even in the Moses story in the bible) is the discover of Kals ship in the field. The point you make in reference to biblical subtext actual reinforces my point for me. Why was it completely missing? for the sake of a couple of minutes extra flashback we missed out on the ESSENTIAL scene, the potential that scene holds for character development , an emotional and uplifting scene. Two parents who could not have children find a baby in a field and the mother falls in love! . not including it was both sacrilege to the Superman origin and more TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE storytelling from Goyer!.
@sefy76 @jparlee321 HOW IT SHOULD HAVE ENDED, shows the massive pile SHIT that MoS is! why the fuck has Goyer got a job!! . Watch it! the end bit with Aquaman is great
