toughness is important in a seven game series. you don't need a ton of it if your team can score but right now. we can't. and right now i think we have so little toughness that it is going to send us home in the first round if we even make it. our flashiest guys right now are two tampa bay players who won it all back when i was 17 and a conccused and spotty rick nash

this bit about lundqvist not being able to make a big save is nonsense. did you not see him rob lupul from point blank range in the first after the penalty shot. if that goes in the game is done.
ok. im officially excited about him being here. the only thing that sucks is we now have three forwards that make the rangers broadcasting crew look like giants. LGR.

cally should have taken the deal, but lets remember that millions of dollars are pretty awesome so, i don't fault the guy if he gets more. he gave everything for the team and everyone bashing him should shut up. you were all his biggest fans. the fact that the negotiations are broadcast are the only reason why people are looking at him differently. if you heard the negotiations of every player you'd end up pissed at most of them. he was a great captain and will be missed.

@johnAMIRANTESrug no one makes a deal to make another team better. they are trying to get what they can for a player who wants out.

6 days, 5 hours ago on Rangers Decline Callahan's Six-Year, $6.3 Million Per Year Proposal
cally will most likely sign at 6 years 6 million. slightly over paid but still for your captain and a gritty guy on a team full of guys who won't stick up for one another I think its a good deal.
@Bring back Langdon @rjonyr87 @rangermom i was hoping so
@mikegostomski @TheNYRBlog if they win a cup i am sure you will have his jersey
@Bring back Langdon @rangermom saying that gomez was a good contract just because we got mc d is nuts. its hindsight. you do not give anyone a 7 year 51 million dollar contract unless his name is towes, crosby, or the like. and they must be in their prime.
we lost this game because we are not built to play a team like boston. we can hang with pitts, chicago, and the like, but boston is too tough and too deep. i don't blame hank, though obviously not a very good game. miller played well. richards needs a buyout. free up some space. he doesn't do enough to warrant this money. if we press boston we can clearly play with them, as could be seen in the first. the momment we let up though, and we did, we lost.

@KevinTheNYRBlog @rjonyr87 true. but i am very doubtful that both callahans agent and fat sather are this open booked about negotiations. the way its been reported you'd think these guys are sitting in the room while these talks are going on. seems like smoke.
1 week, 5 days ago on Callahan's Agent Says Asking Price Is Discount; Two Sides to Meet This Week
i actually view this comment from the agent as a good thing. perhaps. just -perhaps the reports that he was 7 per are false. the agent directly discusses the fact that the media is speculating. so maybe his number is not as high as that and we should all, i dunno, shut up, and see what plays out. brooks, and boomer are paid to yap their jaws, and their aim is to make news, so they have done a good job. but i am still skeptical about all these figures and reports we have been getting from all of these outlets.
@NYRBlueBlog agreed. and even if hank did ask for a day off i say way to be a responsible goaltender and admit when you need help. id rather see a well rested hank for the weekend games then have a tired one on thursday. we have a good backup. lets play in front of him and win one.

the americans needed to take some chances and they didn't. the fact is a couple of second chances and the americans would be able to solve price. not enough when it was all on the line. and i agree. cally looked like a captain. parise did nothing.
2 weeks, 2 days ago on Lundqvist, Hagelin & Nash Advance to Gold Medal Game; Americans? Not So Much
IF YOU WERE TO SUBTRACT BOTH PLAYERS FROM THIS TEAM RIGHT NOW WE WOULD NOT EVEN SNIFF THE PLAYOFFS. TEAM CAPTAIN AND OUR BEST GRINDER BY FAR, AND A SHUT DOWN GUY WHO LOGS MAJOR MINS? ITS THROWING IN THE WHITE TOWEL IF WE LOSE EM.
2 weeks, 4 days ago on Sather Committed to Trading Callahan/Girardi If Not Signed By Trade Deadline
CHICAGO? PITTS? TWO PRETTY TOP TEIR TEAMS THAT WE JUST RECENTLY HANDED LOSSES TO. THIS YEAR THE POSSIBILITY IS THERE. LGR!
what has anyone seen from G to make them think that this guy is going down the tubes. he had a rough start to the season while adjusting to a new system of play, which could be said of almost every ranger. he is a shut down guy worthy of a decent contract, which he will get.
3 weeks, 5 days ago on Do the Rangers Need to Exchange "Character" for Skill?
the biggest problem with this article is that you seem to think that every rangers player is on the chopping block. the fact is we are on a very hot roll. to say that we should judge a team based on an average performance is nonsense. these guys are paid very well. if they come out and put up an average performance every night then guess what....they don't have...wait for it...character. if you think that mark messier didn't have that extra piece, that piece that goes just a bit beyond is natural skill and ability you are nuts. its takes character to use those skills under pressure. if you want to win you need guys like cally, and girardi. who are you going to replace g's mins with? do you really think trading a captain while you team if finally geling under a brand new coach with a new system is intelligent hockey. we went the route of buying up skilled players and it did not get us anything. wade redden had a lot of skill. he has the character of dried up playdoh. your evaluation of this team is way off. we have a lot of skilled guys who are finally getting into a groove with this new coach. if you think this team is not a contender, and not talented you have not been watching the hockey they've played the last two months.
yeah that makes zero sense. poliout has been an up and down player. there is a reason he has yet to find a real home in this league. on the other hand cally is a gutsy puts it on the line every night leader of this team. if we weren't looking so good right now, and poliout wasn't playing his best id try to get something for him while his trade value is higher, because if the player he normally is comes back his value is almost nothing.
