I really hope McD really is 100%. I like to believe it but the way team doctors are we really don't know. I guess we will find out when he steps out on the ice.

He should put the C on his chest Game One of the playoffs. It would be a morale booster and well deserved.

So is Nathan Horton now the owner of the fastest goal from the start of the period record?

@Josh-CK hahah thats amazing. Our Centers have underperformed all year. Zucc, Mac, Hank. That is why we are in the playoffs.

the big question in the east for us is can we hang with Boston. We have shown that we can take Pittsburgh, we can take Philly, we can take these Eastern teams, but Boston is what stands between us and one of those deadly Western teams. If Nash goes to the net and doesn't back down from Boston's big boys, St. Louis remembers his St. Louis, and we get some contributions from Step, Zucc and Brass we have a shot. But if you think we can roll through Boston on speed alone your mistaken. We are going to have to pretend we are tougher than we are and get in some peoples faces. It's not necessarily about being the big tough guy, but you have to act that part on occasion. When your a pro athlete you should be able to handle yourself (I am thinking of Girardi, Staal, Boyle). We have big boys who need to realize they are big boys.
happy to see this. putting brian boyle with brad richards and marty st louis sounds like a joke. its like we hit the shuffle button and went with whatever it spit out. at least having some more of the speed av loves so much should help. not to mention some skill. brian boyle is a really good 4th liner, he has no place with st. louis. though i am not sure if richards does either.

@scrangersfan @mando24179 i wouldn't say it doesn't work just because your goaltender couldn't put up on solid game away from home and was horrible in the final. i do think the cup goes through boston though and you do need to have some guts against that team. but the guy is not a chump, he was one luongo away from the cup.
proof that we don't have the guys to play with a guy like st. louis. not about how good an individual players is, its about how well that player fits into any given system. i like st. louis but this was not a well thought out plan at all.

i agree with the sentiment that msl should not be with ritchie. rich should be bought out at the end of the year, he is not doing what hes being paid to do so why worry about keeping these two buddies together. msl needs to not be on the ice with that guy. brad is thinking about msl too much and its obvious.

MAYBE THE DEATH THREATS CAME FROM THE PLAYERS. YOU KNOW INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY KICKING HIS ASS ON THE ICE THEY FIGURED THEY COULD GO AROUND SHANNY THIS WAY.

@KevinTheNYRBlog @johnnyb3910 @Say my Name Gotta say Boomer officially is an idiot. I liked that he was a big Rangers fan and everything, not to many new york broadcasters give the Rangers their due at all, but he is beyond stupid with that comment. Its a game.
@Say my Name agreed. well put. people have become receptacles for entertainment rather then active productive people so when something happens in this world some people see it as THEIR world.
I am pretty sure that the staff at news day is unsure of what the word indefinitely means. I am applying for a job today. In the interview I can drop huge words like journalistic, editorial, and vocabulary. woo hoo.
@KevinTheNYRBlog @AL55S @rjonyr87
he is a bit undersized but he has been impressive. maybe he is looking around and realizing he has a legit shot on the ny rangers and is going the extra mile. he seems confident and decisive which this team needs on the point.

diaz is great. seeing number four move his feet, take shots, and make solid passes is bizarre after the last dude.
nash needs to play like he did in that columbus game. its offensive to think that he is making all that money, and capable of doing what he did to the blue jackets but that it all stems from his personal reasons. you play for the new york rangers. go out there every night and play like its on the line. he plays good games because he is naturally talented and 6'4. but we got him to play great games, and with passion that is what he's capable of. he better be a monster in the playoffs because i am sick of the back and forth effort.
@mlsranger that is an amazing idea, though i am sure the next day the nhl would create a rule about it

@KevinTheNYRBlog the only issue being that as much as i hate brodeur he arguably the best goaltender in the history of the game. i can't stand him but who really has the last laugh? avery who is dancing his way into obscurity, or a guy who is not only a hall of famer, but a guy who has written the goaltending record book? not a fan but between the two of them brodeur is the only one that will be remembered.
for once i kind like brodeurs dig. that is a sharp as it gets. the did't mention it because avery is irrelevant. he made himself irrelevant and really classless to bring up his personal problems. they asked brodeur about it and he made a joke. take the joke avery. you are one.
i like these lines. lets beat this philly team. id like to see someone shut simmonds up. lets go rangers.

by far my favorite rick nash game so far in blue, but he should be playing like that every night. that is why he is getting paid like he's getting paid. i will be furious if he regresses in NJ.
wait someone please explain what the hell is happening here??
i have been waiting for even a hint of this man leaving new york. i am not going to get my hopes up, because i am a rangers fan, but i am cautiously excited.
1 month, 1 week ago on Could Sather Retire At End of Season?
@pkh33 i second that motion. look at st. louis. even columbus is in the hunt and he was working with almost nothing there.
@KevinTheNYRBlog @nyr82 if rick nash can't go to the net he should be moved. he is useless taking shot after shot from the outisde tops of the circles. i think it was pretty clear that the coaches for the jets said: it's the rangers, hit them. i can't watch boyle get ragdolled and do nothing about it anymore.

@JoeNYR @rjonyr87 NO but he is the exact sort of player we need
@Say my Name NASH FOR BYUF STRAIGHT UP
@dylonergan once he becomes a ranger he wont be doing that anymore tho. save your safe moulson and don't sign here.

woah. givegartneracup just pointed out that dubi and artem both have more points than nash and that is mind blowing. what is it about NY? if columbus makes the playoffs and we don't can that be like the official last straw and we bail on sather?
@NYR44 can we buy out him and rich?
@ObviouslyTwoPointsAreGreat @DubiLeetch @Say my Name Patience is one thing this sather guy does not have. He has no vision of what the team should be. He built a tough guy team. The team went to the EC finals. He deconstructed the tough guy team for a faster more offensive team..... in a matter of two years. I like more offense. I like tough guys. I am not saying Sather can't pull off a trade. McD being his best. But he has no vision and no patience. A perfect example is the way he handled the Gabby Torts problem. Trade Gabby. That signaled to me that we'd be keeping Torts. Then the season doesnt end great and he decides to move Torts. Well that is a move that a checkers player makes. Its impulsive. Teach this old guy how to play chess because that's what it takes to construct a team with all its moving pieces.
1 month, 1 week ago on Wild 2, Rangers 1
@DubiLeetch that is what i was trying to say. Obviously callahans skill set and point production is replaceable. in fact in St. Louis we have a guy who should double callys production. my point is when you trade your heart and soul guy and your team captain going into a playoff run you are waving a white flag. and this shit about cally not being a leader is garbage. richards was trying to get his guys going, or something with that comment. i don't think its working because when you are a guy like rich and you talk the talk but go on the ice and can't back it then your message falls on deaf ears.
of course they are professionals and need to get over it but guess what. they are proving that chemistry and team commradiere are important and right now this team has zero identity.
Nash made a beautiful pass directly to a the Wild. The wind is out of the sails. This is what a team looks like when you trade their captain mid post-season push. Cally wanted too much, St. Louis is a better player, totally true, but that doesn't mean shit when you deflate the room like this. You do not go on a run after trading your Captain. In fact I would like to know if a team in any sport has ever won a championship after trading away their captain near the deadline. Anyone have the stats on that? Next year can't come soon enough. Hopefully these guys get to work and stop looking around for the other guy to step up.
