@Salyzer @TomDundie Duclair, if you focus on him, did things that you can't teach.  It comes naturally to him.  It would be a waste not to let him loose now and see how he handles the first nine games.  Then a decision would have to be made.

...and if he doesn't respond in any way, he needs to be traded, or bought out...then maybe we can keep Richie to play alongside St Louis for next season and maybe more.  We could always trade him later on.  In the meantime, pick up a real power forward to compliment Kreider on the second line, and another mortar round like Carcillo to round us out in the bottom six.  This team has a great future, no matter what happens next week.

Absolutely, Kevin.  Hard to tell his real motivation, but it's his own fault.  St Louis will be on the board soon enough...and we may see a great post season run by our beloved Rangers.  Let's go boys!!!

Absolutely loving it!!!  It's only one game, but Diaz looked great...and aggresssive.   He looked awesome with the puck on the PP...bye bye Richards on the point and faceoffs...what is wrong with him anyway??  He's embarrassing now.  Wish Boyle could throw em, and thereby intimidate...he'd be a true beast!!   There is a challenge for Ranger coaches...that and somehow teaching Kreider what to do with himself w/o the puck.

I was shot on the way to my deerstand...by a fellow long time hunting buddy...who knew I would be passing by him before dawn, in the dark...at a range of 19 yards...with a 3" .50 cal 300gn rifled slug...in the left hip.  While I survived, it shattered by life as I knew it forever.  I lost my career, my mental health, my lifetime passion (ice hockey) and have been in pain of one sort or another ever since.  I wore orange hat & vest...but it was dark!!  He lost his gun, 3 yrs hunting and a fine.  I can't walk very well from here to there w/o pain & limping...I do well around the house and a short grocery trip.  I still hunt though...same place with the same friends...they make it happen for me.

Excellent idea....and let JT center that line while you're at it.  That'll lite him up....

I agree with you 100%...  We do have a #1 center who is really a good #2 and no sniper type winger.  If either of those issues could be addressed at the deadline, I should think that all bets would be off

Undeniable...thanks for the work that went into this analysis.  I hope Sather thinks it over carefully.  We also have good people coming up who need the icetime, ie, JT, Danny K and Connor Allen.  Lots to look forward to....

Gilbert was my hero.  Most don't even know about his spine injury that almost cost him his career.  Those were the days for the NYR.  If Ratelle hadn't broken his ankle, we would have won it all in '72.  The Garden was so awesome, you couldn't hear yourself talk...sitting up all nite for playoff tix in the plaza....you could not hear the anthems...no exaggeration!!

Watching every shift in every game, I have to agree with most of the comments.  I love Hank as much as anyone, BUT, look back to the conference finals vs NJ...Broduer was the difference in their end with his cuttoff moves behind the net and throwing the puck up the boards to teammates away from the NYR forecheck.  It killed us!!!  Teams can operate behind our goal line at will!!  There is no D to fear on our team, and no punishment for people in front of our goal.  Offensively, we try to cycle way, way to much...and to no end ie, no one in position to even take a shot, let alone crash the net.  Its so FRUSTRATING to watch!!!!!!!!

11 months, 3 weeks ago on Why Are The Rangers Swimming in Mediocrity?

Reply

OBTW, if it truely comes to pass that Talbot is our best chance to win, the NYR must trade Henrik for the best possible return, ie, a true sniper and a howitzer from the point or two.

12 months ago on Vigneault Won't Commit to Lundqvist Starting on Monday

Reply

High glove and 5 hole have always been an issue for Henrik.  I must agree, he is getting more shots into his space and he is not handling them well.  He needs to adjust, or his coaches will have to adjust and go with their best chance to win.

@shoot_the_goalie @freebie23 It is maddeningly frustrating to watch them receive the pass, set up (we watch the goalie and D shift to that side) and then shoot for a post and miss the net.  F ing 1 time it or at least hit the goalie's pads.  Stop missing the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe we should let Nash come back and find his game before throwing him out there against other teams best.  With that in mind, I believe he should be on the third line!!!  There is no shame in this...it allows him to play against lesser competition and find his legs and his confidence.  He can always be moved up as progress is made.  Putting him out there any other way is just asking for trouble for all concerned.

The change in mass media priority from truth finding and news reporting to, as you put it, "readership and viewership" (translation: money), is a major part of our nation's problems as well.

Let's give it a rest and play the game!!
