"Bless me father, for I have sinned; I have to watch [Kellen Clemens] the whole fourth quarter." LOL

@spin0rama I remember a lot about that broadcast and I believe that Al Michaels said at the start of the telecast that there are lot of Americans who don't know the difference between a blue line, but this game means everything to them.

Watched Maradonna's goal live on NBC. Hugo's call was much better than Charlie Jones' call. Yes, Charlie Jones was the World Cup announcer in 1986 for NBC.

If it was bad for business, ESPN would get rid of Berman. Obviously, having him there is good for business. We don't have access to all of ESPN's numbers.

Wow, was that ever painful.

It's probably somewhere in-between. There is a slight decline going, but the Heat in 2012Q2 and not in 2012Q3, plus Euro exacerbated it.

@Norm Caudell To be fair, Jack Buck's call was on the national radio feed, where the pictures cannot speak for themselves.

Thinking about which announcers didn't make the field of 64 and two come to mind ... Jim Nantz and Bob Costas. But I don't think of anything memorable that would be obvious entries to the field. Nantz's Masters calls (A win for the ages in 1997 or Is it his time ... YES! At long last -- Phil 2004) could make the cut but are not obvious deletions.

Can't think of a memorable Costas call, though to be fair, he's spent most of his career as a studio host, and has not done a ton of play-by-play. He did call Jordan's title-winning shot in 1998.

@DanielOrmsby And that doesn't cover great announcers like Martin Tyler and Brent.

Love these as always, except for the last one on this list.

I am a big Pirates fan and I absolutely refuse to watch the Sid Bream slide that sent us into two decades of losing.

Glad to see that "SEND IT IN, JEROME!!" made the cut of 64.

Most underrated part of Darke's call is "Distribution ... brilliant" on Howard's quick pass to get the counterattack going. Darke recognizes that something big is happening and gives the goaltender credit. Shows knowledge and feel for the game.

This is clearly the weakest group of eight so far. I agree with Adam about the CFB calls.

But fun tournament so far and I am excited for tomorrow!

Wow ... these are tough choices. Because they are all so good.

Good to see ol' Verne get four spots. Could have a Verne vs. Verne in round 2. Maybe ... YES SIR!! has to be there and is probably the highest-seeded golf call. Excited to see which one is Verne's fourth.
