@LucienDeblois Not allowed to kick it in off a player either.

I'm with Ray. Kicked goals should count.
@Cameron19 @loomx maybe not directly. But it's just constant whining every time there's a call against us with the usual "well if that had been us they wouldn't have called it" or "the refs always just favour the better team"
1 day, 5 hours ago on GDT: Game #7, Toronto Maple Leafs at New York Islanders (7 p.m., TSN4)
@Cameron19 @loomx refs are bad. There is no crazy conspiracy against the Leafs though.
Clutterbuck gets taken out leading to a Leaf goal, no whining about the refs though?
Damn refs with the Toronto bias. No trip on Komarov.
@Mitch92 interference on the ISles player.
@Potcy @Bruffins @djamon @Wilbur Because marginal penalties and missed offsides never happen in our favour?
@Yaknowwhat Always had the puck in the offensive zone, not pinned like the other lines. Only been quiet the last couple games. I guess it's easy to just zero in on Kadri though so whatever.
@Potcy @loomx @Wilbur ooo good burn.
@Bruffins @Potcy @Wilbur Every game? every damn period/shift/stride.
@Yaknowwhat Lately as in what? a couple games? They were the best Leaf line for the first few games.

@Wilbur It's like reading a Habs message board over here.
@Mitch92 @dlb Mad Except for that goal in the Montreal game.
@Mitch92 @loomx @Yaknowwhat Our players seem to like shoving other players into our goalie so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
@Yaknowwhat Did you see the replay that actually shows the offender? I didn't.
@Bruffins Heck, I would be worried if Franson went head to head with Jason Allison.
1 day, 7 hours ago on Monday Mashup: Taking on the toughs
@Yaknowwhat Would've had to commit long term to Raymond for over $3mil. The solution to keeping Colborne was sending Troy Bodie down.
2 days, 4 hours ago on Monday Mashup: Taking on the toughs
@Yaknowwhat Mason Raymond was a soft, one-way, goal scoring winger approaching his 30s. Joe Colborne was a big, under-25 centre who was shipped away in favour of current AHLers Troy Bodie and Colton Orr. Not exactly the same thing.
@MaxwellHowe @loomx Now wouldn't it have been great if, instead of going on some useless cinderella run to the playoffs that got us nowhere, the team just replicated their results from the previous and following years?? At that point we would've been looking at Kadri AND Lindholm or Monahan or even Horvat...maybe even Barkov or Drouin if they were bad enough.
Ya know, I never see people pointing to Tyler Bozak when talking about the 1st line's defensive woes. It's always JVR and Kessel even though Bozak plays the most important forward position in the defensive zone.
Fact is he doesn't match up well against most 1st line(if not top 6) centres in the league and it shows. He's not that much better than Kadri in the Dzone if you ask me.

@ingy56 @mr_hanie Something our current 1C doesn't actually do very well.
@Xxxxxnew Sounds like the Sun is desperately looking for a story.

@T K O @loomx And that - came when? oh right....when he was on an exceptionally shitty team. why, it's almost as if +/- is directly related to how shitty your team is! Wanna bet Yakupov's +/- will improve when his team improves?
Not debating that Yakupov wasn't bad defensively, just that the evidence is complete crap.
3 days, 2 hours ago on Sunday Mashup: Not All Bad
@ProfessorRance @loomx @elandan Yay!!.....and then we lost in a historic fashion that has forever labelled this group of core players as "bad leaders" and "players you can't win with" and made us miss out on probably one of the best top 10s ever but yayyyy playoffs!
@T K O @loomx Jordan Staal had the 5th worst +/- in the league during the shortened season. Better go break the news to him that he's shitty defensively.
@elandan Making the playoffs was probably the worst thing to happen for the rebuild.
@T K O @loomx Somehow I knew you'd mention +/-. haha.
Eakins, the straight talker, is saying something you don't want to hear so he MUST be lying. lol I'm done.
3 days, 3 hours ago on Sunday Mashup: Not All Bad
@Bring the Cup Home @loomx Probably shouldn't be putting a minimum height on players though. Gilmour and Clark were both under 6'0.
@WendelGilmour @loomx And you've watched him play how many times this year? My guess is close to zero because if you actually did, you would've seen it differently.
@T K O @loomx Oh here come the excuses. Eakins is now lying to all of us, ya see! Gimme a break, have you actually watched him this year or did you read a grocery store quote(TM:Darcy Tucker) when he was drafted and made your mind up?
@WendelGilmour @loomx So something he said when he was 19 is more important than what he's actually doing right now?
@T K O @loomx Eakins has said that his D play has improved drastically and the lazy tag is just an automatic for skilled Russian players. Not really true.
@whalz @loomx Really only gets the lazy tag because of his passport. The kid works really hard.
If the plan is to rebuild and trade core players, I don't see why you wouldn't do it.
@whalz I know it's unpopular to like Russians here, but I'd take Yakupov.
@Yaknowwhat And having smaller prospects doesn't prevent you from doing that. There's a lot more about the Leafs that leaves me feeling hopeless than Johnson and Nylander.
@Yaknowwhat It's really a simple choice, would you rather have 24 year old Joe Colborne or current AHLers Troy Bodie and Colton Orr? Because that was the actual choice they had.
@Bring the Cup Home @loomx Yeah, we should keep drafting the Tyler Biggs and Frederik Gauthier's of the world. Skill? Who needs it? Just get John Scott, Frazer MacLaren, and ask Georges Laraque to come out of retirement and we'll win.
@WendelGilmour @loomx @MaxwellHowe @Jay_Berg He isn't. His hot start still doesn't mean much. He could've had a poor start and the decision would've still been dumb.
@Cameron19 @loomx @Jay_Berg nope.
@Bring the Cup Home Yeah, I mean look at how many playoff series those smurfs in Montreal won!....wait....
@Cameron19 @Jay_Berg Nonis was in Edmonton yesterday. Probably just a scouting trip but you know Toronto...
@WendelGilmour @MaxwellHowe @Jay_Berg For an organization that only made the playoffs in one (shortened) season since 2004 and preached patience, mayyybe they should've kept a big 23 year old centre instead of a 31 year old goon who is no longer in the NHL.
@Jay_Berg Franson+Reimer for Perron+Fasth
@Jay_Berg I care when young average hockey players with potential are shipped away to make room for old well below average hockey players with no potential.
@Jay_Berg Maybe. Maybe not. 35 points in the NHL is still better than having a goon in the AHL, no?
Whether Colborne had a bad camp or not really isn't relevant IMO. The team just came off a season where they made the playoffs and had a chance to build on that with a young team. In an organization that was starved down the middle, they chose to keep 28 year old Troy Bodie and 31 year old Colton Orr and just tossed 23 year old Joe Colborne. You didn't need the foresight to predict Colborne's development, you needed to realize that this team wasn't just going to make the playoffs from there on out. Stupid stupid stupid.
@djamon Yeah, he got 28 points last year and now he's still in the NHL. where are Orr and Bodie now?
3 days, 4 hours ago on Sunday Mashup: Not All Bad
@NotSince67 @Bruffins @loomx The idea with getting rid of Colborne by trade or waivers in order to make room for Colton Orr and Troy Bodie however, doesn't require a lot of foresight to conclude that it will be the wrong move.
3 days, 6 hours ago on Sunday Mashup: Not All Bad
@Yan28 My conclusion is different. Nonis made some mistakes, now it's time for him to leave.
