@Belfour20/JB-45 @loomx @Cloud09 @wendelsfist  Yup, and anything more than 2mil from here on out is too much.

But again, Carlyle himself said he didn't hold the players accountable. He scoffed when people brought up the team weaknesses, he benched the young guys and didn't do anything to the vets who were playing worse, he cost us a 2nd rounder, worst of all numerous times he said he didn't know the answer, something he's paid to do. And to put a cherry on top, he shoved Gardiner under the bus for NO reason at the end of the season. And he was probably our best Dman down the stretch along with RIelly. bush league stuff. all fireable offenses on their own.

@Belfour20/JB-45 @loomx @Cloud09 @wendelsfist  Why did they collapse in 2012? They relied on one line to provide offense and didn't have any defensive depth. Their goalies were also horrible. Why did they collapse in 2013? The goalie situation fixes itself, but the team gets way worse in terms of possession and they still had the poor defensive depth. 2014? They relied on Kessel, Dion, and Bernier SOOOOOO heavily, didn't have the defensive depth, and got worse in terms of possession.

I don't see how it's the fault of the good players who actually did something this season, instead of the blatantly obvious weaknesses that lead to their downfall three times.

@Belfour20/JB-45 @loomx @Cloud09 @wendelsfist  Anyways, I've got hockey to watch.

I always feel that we're arguing the same thing Belfour. I want the players to be held accountable, I want a different group of players next year. First and foremost though, I want a new coach. He can preach whatever message he wants, I don't think he has a clue how to relay that message to players who don't already play that way(see:Anaheim) He has no answers, and he's made the team worse somehow. A lot of players should be gone, but I want the coach gone first and foremost. If teams were only allowed to make one move per off-season, mine would be to get rid of the coach.

@Belfour20/JB-45 @loomx  I don't recall every saying the players shouldn't be held accountable. If your yelling about not holding players accountable, you should be yelling at Carlyle. He's the one who kept spoon-feeding them minutes no matter how poorly they played.

@Belfour20/JB-45 @loomx  Excuses? In one year they Giguere had a .908SV%. The next year Varlamov had a .927%. I guess that just doesn't matter for you though. It's the players fault they didn't have a goalie.

@Greg Fenton @loomx @Belfour20/JB-45  Dion's the only one who missed practice. He missed practice for like a month. Every other time in the last 2 seasons, he's been fantastic and unquestionably among the best Dmen in the league, except for this one stretch in which he just happened to miss every practice. I don't know about you, but that suggests that something was bothering him and wasn't allowing him  to perform to the best of his abilities.

@Greg Fenton @Belfour20/JB-45 @loomx  And Dion's defense declined after the Florida game when he started missing every practice. I guess Belfour chocks that up as a coincidence though. When he started playing poorly, the lack of support really started rearing its ugly head.

@Belfour20/JB-45 @loomx  The reason he got that contract is because of the help he had before. McCabe when he was good. Sunding, Nieuwendyk, Roberts, Tucke, Ken Klee was great in the season before Kaberle signed.

20 hours, 54 minutes ago on NHL Playoffs Round 1 – Open Thread

@Belfour20/JB-45 @loomx  And look at all the help he had. Two completely different roles. Phaneuf is relied on to do literally all the defending on this team because management seemingly refuses to upgrade on the weaknesses.

@Belfour20/JB-45  If you adjust Kaberle's 4.25 when he signed it in 2006, it was 9.65% of the team cap space. Phaneuf's cap hit as a % of cap space when it kicks in next year=~10%

@CanuckUKinToronto @loomx @Bobsyouruncle  HOW IS IT MADE UP FILTERS? It's looking at what other players have done what Kadri has done. It's filters based on Kadri's career since 2009. jeezus.

@Bobsyouruncle @loomx  Before 2009. Which would put him outside of the criteria.

23 hours, 16 minutes ago on NHL Playoffs Round 1 – Open Thread

Reply

@Bobsyouruncle @loomx  Because it's a list of active players. Thus they must have played at least 1 game in each season for it to register. Kadri has, Skinner was drafted in 2010.

How is it selective? It's a list based on Kadri and what's he's done since he was drafted. Kadri is a player between 18 and 23 who's been active since 2009, has played less than 180 games, and has more than 100 points. Who else fits that criteria? And voila. This is the answer.

23 hours, 19 minutes ago on NHL Playoffs Round 1 – Open Thread

Reply

@CanuckUKinToronto @loomx @Bobsyouruncle @darthNihilus  Of course it's relative. Players have done bigger and better things well before the age of 23. That's not the point though. From 2009 to 2014, Kadri's played 177 games which took him 5 years to achieve. In that same time frame, others aged 18-23 have scored more than 100 points in the same amount of games(180 or less) but did it in less years because they played more games per year. Based on the amount of games in that time frame, Kadri's in good company. There's no direct comparison between players. Based on the amount of games he's played, he's been good.

@Bobsyouruncle @loomx  He's a group 6 UFA. Meaning he's 25 or older and has played 3 or more pro years and has played 80 or less NHL games.

@Greg Fenton @loomx @CanuckUKinToronto @Bobsyouruncle @darthNihilus  You can come to whatever conclusions you want. It's not implying that Kadri could or will improve. If that's what you get from it, fine. This is just looking at what Kadri has done since 2009 and showing players who have done similar things. All it's saying is that Kadri's been good. That's it.

23 hours, 33 minutes ago on NHL Playoffs Round 1 – Open Thread

Reply

@CanuckUKinToronto @loomx @Bobsyouruncle @darthNihilus  But few have played the amount of games he's played. It's not skewed. It's taking Kadri's games played and his point totals and saying "hmmmm, who has done what Kadri has done in that time frame and in the same amount of games?" This is the answer.

23 hours, 40 minutes ago on NHL Playoffs Round 1 – Open Thread

Reply

@CanuckUKinToronto @loomx @Bobsyouruncle @darthNihilus  I don't know what you're trying to say. Yeah, there are players 18-23 who have played more. This list is including all the players who fit the criteria that Kadri has achieved so far in his career. This list isn't saying that Kadri is as good or better than anybody. It's just saying that based on the amount of games that Kadri has played since 2009, he's been good. I don't know why people are flipping out about this.

23 hours, 43 minutes ago on NHL Playoffs Round 1 – Open Thread

Reply

@Bobsyouruncle @darthNihilus  Why? This list shows you that since 2009, only 10 players aged 18 to 23 have played less than 180 games and have scored more than 100 points. Kadri is part of that list which is a good thing. There's nothing more that you should take away from this other than "Kadri is a good player"

23 hours, 47 minutes ago on NHL Playoffs Round 1 – Open Thread

Reply

@Bobsyouruncle @Burtonboy  It just represents that Kadri is a good hockey player. Sure he has his setbacks. You'd want him to play with intensity more often. But he's still 23. You'd also want him to play for a coach that doesn't pick on just him.
