@leducleaf @loomx Yep, Laviolette would fit perfectly.

I know some of you will roll your eyes, but this team misses Brian Burke. He took pressure off the team by always making it about himself. This took some media attention away from the players because Burke was always being accountable for the team that's iced. He also gave this team an identity that fit Carlyle's system. Nonis is bringing in players that don't fit.(either that or Carlyle's system is outdated) So please, bring in a coach that can get the most out of this group instead of having Carlyle try to shove an outdated system down the players' throats.
@whalz As usual he throws his players under the bus. It's never Carlol, always the players. Get this guy outta here.
@TheCanucksnaphook @Coldincowtown ridiculous that Clarkson gets 10 games for jumping off the bench and not doing anything yet Neal will get half as many games for a fly-by knee to the head. But, those are the rules I guess.

Was at the Marlies game yesterday. I like what I saw from Holzer. Really calm, plays his position effectively. IMO he'd be better than Fraser at this point, although that's not saying much. Carrick was good. I said it when he was drafted, he's gonna make a fine bottom 6 centre. Biggs was good in his role. Nearly every shift of his line ended in the offensive zone. Had a good fight. Every time I watch him play, all I see is David Clarkson. Physical, good along the boards, good shot when he wants to shoot, everything else is just average. I'd like to see him at least play a few games with some offensively talented players especially with all the call ups and injuries. He won't put up points playing with Crescenzi and Devane.
@Shift_Disturber1 I honestly can't remember the last 60 minute effort from this team, which is something else good teams are capable of doing.
@Cameron19 @Gilbey93 This. You can't expect him to be the best player defensively on a pairing when it's his first year. It's basically what they're doing.

@B_Leaf PKane, Ovechkin, Perry, Kessel, Zoidberg, Sedin. Other than that, not right now. That's some good company.
@Bring the Cup Home they have enough offensive weapons on the team. Drouin, Mantha, Reinhart, McDavid etc. Probably want grittier players than Brown.

@Cameron19 @Alec Brownscombe @loomx @TheCanucksnaphook Don't get me wrong, I like the player, I like what he brings, and I think he'll be useful to beat the Bruins. It's just that he's overpaid by at least $1.5mil. Bad decision by Nonis. Oh well, I hope he can make it work.
@TheCanucksnaphook @loomx Yes. I'm insane.
@Cameron19 @loomx @TheCanucksnaphook You're justifying the fact that we overpaid for Clarkson with "every team has overpaid players". It was pretty much a league-wide unanimous opinion that 5 mil was too much for Clarkson before he signed here. Besides, if you're going to overpay for somebody, at least overpay for somebody who will help an area where your team sucks.
@Cameron19 @loomx @TheCanucksnaphook "Every team has overpaid players, so let's overpay for players!" Brilliant.
@Bring the Cup Home Just because others were offering as much, doesn't mean you have to.
@Cameron19 @loomx @TheCanucksnaphook Even if he plays like he played in New Jersey, $5.2mil is too much for 40-45 points, mediocre defensive play, and intangibles.
@Xxxxxnew Yeah, because players in their late 20s who don't deserve to be in the NHL are soooo much better than a defenseman who can actually play defense. Top 4 on two Stanley Cup teams....not worthy of a spot on the Leafs.
@TheCanucksnaphook Funny. I guess you're content with paying a 3rd line plug $5.2mil instead of signing a player that would actually improve the team. Edit: and saving $2mil and two years in the process.
@Gilbey93 @loomx @Komas Taberle @ingy56 @BPsotka Should've known better not to rely on a guy who had a good 48 games who's play was declining(Fraser) and a guy who has never been good in his own end. D was already a problem last year anyway.
@Cameron19 @loomx @Gilbey93 @Komas Taberle So what? At least then we'd have competent Dmen on the left side.
@Gilbey93 @loomx @Komas Taberle Because Schultz has always looked lost. Eakins has challenged him and he hasn't responded. Besides, Ference rarely plays with Shultz.
