@QuintonCantue Agreed! At 7.7 mil he's pretty good value. According to ESPN and other sources, the Hawks and Trail Blazers are prepared to offer him 8-9 mil. Given this, acquiring Gortat right now would be a really smart thing to do, especially if you could get Manu at a cheaper price to leave space for possibly Monta/Jarret Jack/Kirilenko

@ajd21 remember that the spurs would most likely have a pick in the late 20s which, as we all know, is "role player range." Given that the spurs are so adept at acquiring diamonds in the rough not through the draft (Danny Green & Gary Neal), a late first round pick is not that valuable. The true value is 1-15, especially top 5 where teams could get the next Lebron, KD, Paul, Duncan (Wiggins, Parker, Harrison, and Randle). Additionally, if the spurs do want to pull a kawhi/hill trade, like you said, RC is smart enough to acquire the most value out there.
Coach Pop is leaving after Tim retires, which is in about 2-3 seasons. Dwight knows this and is wary about playing with a team that could be in rebuilding mode during his prime. Keep in mind that by rebuilding, I mean with Kawhi and Tony, not like other teams that actually have to restart.
