@B_Leaf Who's to say the same thing wouldn't have happened if the shortened season was a full season? I'm not going to quibble over the good and bad things Nonis has done. But to say the man doesn't know what he is doing is not very accurate.

"But we also have to ask ourselves if it is reasonable to expect a team to make the playoffs after a year in which they gave up the most shots against in an 82 game season, ever. With no major moves (yet), we are asking for a big leap forward from the same core."

Assuming that we are ditching the swarm, the gap shouldn't be as big. We are essentially taking off the stone shoes.

Anyone from MLHS at the prospect camp?

3 weeks, 4 days ago on Sunday Mashup: Leafs News and Notes

Reply

@MaxwellHowe It seems like with some of these additions we will have a bottom 6 that can compete against some of the better lines on other teams. I remember one MLHS article stating that the top 2 lines just were not good enough defensively and the 3rd/4th lines obviously were not built to be shut down lines. I don't think we have a shutdown line but it looks like we will have a bottom 6 that can at least compete defensively.

@NinetyThree Actually that's a fair point. Even if they call up Holland, Nylander might still be behind Carrick and McKegg at least in terms of experience. But he has way more skill than those two.

3 weeks, 4 days ago on Sunday Mashup: Leafs News and Notes

Is there really a case for Nylander playing in the Swedish league or in the CHL next year? Isn't the AHL the best place for him since he can learn the ins and outs of the North American game under the tutelage of Steve Spott?
