Unbelievable, wow, they have even managed to suck the hope out of next year for me already. The question of "Who's better than Carlyle?" is totally irrelevant, the question should be "Who's better for the Leafs than Carlyle?"; answer: most anyone right now. This just makes no sense, totally disgusted by this decision. Was hoping Shanny would see the light.
2 months, 2 weeks ago on Randy Carlyle staying on as Maple Leafs Head Coach
With the playoffs out of view and Lupul's injury, surely some of the kids will see some minutes, notably Carter.
What a crazy season in terms of personnel decisions, both on-ice and off (e.g. Clarkson contract); I am ok with Nonis for a bit, despite outrageous Clarkson deal, but RC has to go, and I agree with AP, changing forward group is critical. Reimer was totally mishandled, and his value is pretty limited right now I expect; sure Bernier was great, but total mismanagement of assets. Grabo was also totally miscast and run out of town via RC. Fourth line was non-existent, sign Mclaren and Orr and not play them and not replace them. A lot of young guys missed some serious NHL development time too. Frustrating year all around. Nonis certainly deserves some blame, but I see this as RC's mess.
I'd like to see Kule stay at a reasonable price, but if Bolland wants anything north of $4 million, which sounds like he'll get it, then he surely can't stay; Bodie was also a cheap, pleasant surprise. The outs are obvious I think with Raymond, Reimer, Franson most notable.

@dontcallmeshirley @Cameron19 It's not a matter of "better", less stubborn would probably do because things haven't been working with this group from day 1, yet there has been little change in the approach of this team. And this no playing the 4th line or kids, wtf? Leafs are at a stage where they should be developing kids, RC was coaching for his job from Day 1 of this season I believe. Seems it didn't help though, buh-bye RC.

@Zeus_WilliamMapleLeafs @traNsplantEdneWfie So your philosophy is no one wants the job, which seems highly unlikely, so let's keep RC?
3 months, 3 weeks ago on Game Review: Game #75, Flyers 4 vs. Leafs 2
Surely Carlyle is done, I just don't think this guy is the right coach for this team. The roster seems largely set for the foreseeable future, so let's get a coach with a philosophy that matches the talents and personalities.
What was the official call? Goalie interference?

@astrit07 yeah they are bad, really hard to listen too
8 months ago on GDT: Capitals at Maple Leafs (7 p.m., CBC)
@TuckerForPunishment @lilgrnmen17 For many I think, can't argue too much, I just like Bernier's rebound control compared to Reims
I think eventually Bernier will be left standing of the 2 goalies, but man, Reims just does not quit, really like both these goalies
@Anthony Petrielli @lilgrnmen17 lol my bad, was in a hurry, dissertation defense day, little distracted

Great job as always Andy. Ranger is really coming around, I was ready to give up on him earlier, but he definitely seems to be adjusting. Smith looked very good last week too, perhaps in a little more offensive role better suited to his skills. 1 game sample for Holland, not much to say except he wasn't noticed in a bad way and he won 7 of 11 draws, nice start.
@phaneufoundlander stay away from any bridges tonight lad, and breathe

@wiski @lilgrnmen17 @Yaknowwhat I am on a Mac, wasn't working, used Hockey Reality website, very good feed
@Yaknowwhat and now they won
@Yaknowwhat shootout atm
@Loric76 @lilgrnmen17 fair enough, but pk centers are there, need a few PP goals with the skill they have
@reenergized fire has been missing all year, miss that team from last year. I think the Leafs read their own headlines all summer.
If they are going to win with 3 centers down, they are going to have to do it with special teams, and they simply haven't been good enough lately. Good thing they were in the first 10 games of the year.
@Alec Brownscombe @lilgrnmen17 @wiski live in the US, so not without vpn, which isn't a big deal, I just found alternates, but thinking vpn is the way to go
@wiski yeah definitely hope the olympics. I used to buy the NHL package, but they blackout so many Leafs games it's not worth it, rarely do you get a saturday night game
@wiski had no idea this site existed, moving to Czech Republic soon, that could be a life saver
@wiski ooo, looks good, thanks wiski
@wiski bah, crappy first row i guess
Maybe a silly question, haven't lived in Ontario in a number of years, but will Sportsnet broadcast online? Trying out a new vpn service to watch the game.
@GeorgeCastanza That is quite an indictment, wow, "as stupid as healy" is a special place, a place unto its own

@MaxwellHowe @lilgrnmen17 Well by the sounds of it we'll find what their made of in December, crazy scheduling, I know it's an Olympic year, but they have had like 8 days off in the last 11 or something.
@MaxwellHowe yeah haven't seen much of the team they were last year, they had better effort, more of an edge, a bit of attitude.
@Knights2Leafs @lilgrnmen17 haha
Just saw Kadri run over Backstrom, dangerous play, hope he's ok.
@VaiveOClockSomewhere @lilgrnmen17 haha, that may very well be true, looked a little bleary eyed

@Xxxxxnew Ever met Vaive? Total dick. He was a real prick to a lot of fans who were asking for autographs, use to love him, lost a lot of respect for him that night. May be why.
not a big fan of carlyle, but as long as the leafs keep winning i guess i'll shut my mouth. you can tell he hates dealing with the media, can't say I blame him or anybody associated with the leafs, a bunch of lame questions and canned answers, how often is it that you actually get something useful from these.

JVR has been fantastic this year, he is deadly around that net for a big guy. If they play with more compete like they had in the 3rd on a regular basis, this would be a tough team to beat.
those 2 snipes by Kessel, oh my. Hopefully this game and returning bodies kickstarts this team

Seriously, CBC guys are douches. I'd have 3 pts already playing with that talent
9 months, 3 weeks ago on Preview and GDT: Senators at Maple Leafs (7 p.m., CBC)
@mcloki tough contract, no doubt
@Murph2417 totally agree, bad situation, that's why I said bad asset mgmt, he just didn't fit Carlyle for some reason. I have a feeling Gardiner may be headed down that same path.
@BringBackYushki @Murph2417 Grabo was totally misused, bad asset management by Carlyle and Nonis on that one.
As I was saying lol
Appreciate Reims compete, but I think Bernier is going to win this job. Reims gives up a lot of rebounds, Bernier seems much more efficient and conservative in his movements.
@Alec Brownscombe @lilgrnmen17 No doubt
Ranger looks like he's still working out the kinks.
I used to think it would be awful if CBC did not have Saturday night hockey, but now I am not so sure. We always get stuck with these ass hats and they're just plain awful, tough to listen to.
@TheCanucksnaphook @Burtonboy Not without renting a barn anyways

Wow, pretty impressive, a lot of good in there. Nice hands, good shot, garbage goals in the paint, defensive awareness on d-man down low, very nice.
