@Turner_for_Treasury @ak825 @Raul Franklin I mean more of someone like Puig being a problem in the clubhouse. Or Matt Kemp being "lazy"
@Dustin Nosler Al Campanis.
@Raul Franklin I think it's more the color of the player's skin.
@InTheDirt @ak825 @Dustin Nosler I would like to see this in a Korean ramen commercial.
@Purple Drank @ak825 @Old Bearded Donk @TellMyWifeISaidHello Who is Martinez?
@Dustin Nosler Who plays Andrew Friedman in the next Hyun Jin Ryu commercial? Do you have any insight or head shots into white actors working in Seoul?
@mawp @Guitar Why did someone *need* to get fired? We won 94 games. Now, if there is tension in the clubhouse or in the front office about personel moves to where decision making is hindered, then yes, a change must be made. But someone needing to go because of what happened in 2014 on the field? No way.
@yudodis @P_F_P When oh when will Puig TOOTBLANs stop?!?! OH that was Ethier. Nevermind.
So which much-maligned middle infielder will be the hero of this game?
@Old Bearded Donk @Purple Drank @TellMyWifeISaidHello @ak825 Also, I don't think Grichuk was the throw in. That was probably Peter Bourjos.
@Purple Drank @TellMyWifeISaidHello @ak825 And if Joc Pederson was a Cardinal, he would be playing over Grichuk.
@TellMyWifeISaidHello @ak825 @Purple Drank Eh. I mean Freese wasn't that bad. And Fernando Salas would have been our eighth inning shut down guy if he were a Dodger.
@ tomato Dude. Bro. If they only had a stadium that wasn't impossible to get to. Their attendance would be yoooooooge.
@TellMyWifeISaidHello @Purple Drank @ak825 His playoff performance isn't great. He is still hitting .200 without a walk so far.
@Purple Drank I wonder how many times in Randal Grichuk's life he has had a better 6 games than Mike Trout? And that is before even pointing out that despite having 2 HR, his OPS in the playoffs is like .550
@Purple Drank Because Grichuk would have totally cracked that outfield.
@The place beyond the Pins Ah yes. The reverse Biggio.
How much gri could a Grichuk chuck if a a Grichuk could chuck gri?
@Dang88 Go read "The Worst Team Money Could Buy" about the early 1990s Mets. It will give perspective about how much worse it can get. Or just relive the Kevin Malone era.

@TheConman God I hope this is true.
@TellMyWifeISaidHello Just wait until they are back to winning 65 games a year. They will yearn for the days of Friedman.
@BlueMarvin @ak825 @foldamort Right, but hiring a female for the sake of hiring a female, rather than saying she is the best candidate is dumb.
@Chad Moriyama @ak825 Smyly's FIP for the season was a full run higher than Price. Yes, he has 4 more years of control and he is a great arm, but you really want to cherry pick his last 40 innings of the year (where his FIP was still over a half run higher than Price post trade) to say he was better just isn't correct.
@Purple Drank @Puce Deuce Well for one, I would give my first born for a league championship at this point. And he did that in freaking St. Petersberg.
@foldamort @ak825 @BlueMarvin Just because she is a female does not make her a better candidate, which is the ultimate goal in hiring a GM. I also remember him mentioning that she is very weak in the player development area, which is rather critical for a GM.
@Mike Petriello So he changes his name to Ray Maddon. They work out a deal to get him to the Dodgers and everyone is happy.
@Disgruntled Uncultured Bastard @ak825 @Dang88 I thought he was involved in the trade with Stewart, but it turns out, the Dodgers never traded Stewart to Oakland. And it was Rick Honeycutt. Got my Dodger pitchers of the 80s who also played for Oakland mixed up.
@Disgruntled Uncultured Bastard @ak825 @Dang88 I had forgotten he died when I said that, so prolly not.
@foldamort As long as it means not overpaying Russ Martin, then yay!
@BlueMarvin @Mike Petriello Ethier for A-Rod. Who says no?
@Dang88 Only if Bob Welch is involved.
@BlueMarvin Per Keith Law in a chat:
Let me answer that with another question: Why should Kim Ng get a GM job? The qualifications of GM candidates are almost completely unknown to even serious fans. Yes, you've heard of certain candidates, because they're touted by friends in the media. Ng gets even more publicity because of her gender; Ken Ng wouldn't get half the same press, even if he was precisely as qualified as Kim Ng is. The only GM candidates fans can adequately assess are former GMs, because on the rest, you don't have enough information. In many cases, I don't even have enough information.
@mostly exciting potato Untouchable for Kevin Correia, sure.
@Disgruntled Goat @Mike Petriello @mostly exciting potato @TheConman Spraying champagne on the carpets probably didn't help any with the mold problem.
@TheConman Weird how losing 3 of 4 can so vastly change a narrative. They did still win 94 games.
@Purple Drank Dodgers still literally have more wins in 2014 than the Giants. How again do the Dodgers not "keep on winning"?
@ABSmileBunch @ak825 Peak value is more of will he ever have more value? I would venture to say that at least one AL GM is salivating over the thought of getting to play his bat and not his glove.
@ABSmileBunch Speaking of peak value, how about that Matt Kemp guy?
@Chad Moriyama @ak825 If only we had 19 picks in that time period, surely one would have hit.
@Chad Moriyama @ak825 Who is that guy above Chris Reed. It's cut off.
@Chad Moriyama Drew Smyly was better than David Price? I don't think it was a bad trade, but to say that Smyly was better than Price is being dishonest.
@GinFizzBear @ak825 @capnsparrow @Mike Petriello If it's to the point where you completely restrict your GM from making a move, then why have him? We had a situation where we could have vastly improved our team and we sat with someone they didn't trust.
@Chad Moriyama @ak825 @YadierMolinasOedipalComplex That's neither here nor there. Just pointing out the fact that he has had 19 first round picks since the last time he had a person reach the bigs and that was drafting 1-1. My point isn't so much to talk shit about Friedman as much as it is to point out that expecting him to be a savior and to get the team to a place better than winning 94 wins is a bit presumptuous.
@Chad Moriyama Not to the extent the Rays have.
@JackedNate @ak825 @Mike Petriello Nope. The same morons are still owning and running the team. To keep someone in charge of a team who you don't trust is really really damning.
@capnsparrow @ak825 @Mike Petriello No. It needed to happen in season. To have someone in charge of the roster you don't trust to improve said roster, then you need to fire him immediately. Saying that after the fact is the height of incompetence from Stan and ownership.
@JackedNate @Mike Petriello Then fire Ned if that's the case. Letting him be when we could have improved and actually still be playing is quite a damning offense.
@Mike Petriello Sounds like negligence from ownership to be honest. If you don't trust Ned to improve the team, then you must fire him.
@YadierMolinasOedipalComplex @ak825 Right, but before we go licking each others popsicles, let us realize he is far from a can't miss addition. If we went 7 years without a 1st rounder making the bigs, we would be bitching endlessly about it.
