@Burtonboy @Alec Brownscombe @mcloki @Yaknowwhat @Xxxxxnew don't forget they probably thought Gorges was coming which made gunner on the outs
1 day, 21 hours ago on Monday Mashup: Loov returning to Sweden? Leafs invite Cal Heeter to camp?
Oh not saying Jordan didn't deserve it, I would of did it to if it was my site, probably would have done it sooner, Phook on the other hand has been sore ever since nylander got picked over his boy nick. Not sure what he did but personally I thought he made this site better for Alec and his team.

We brought those points up to Alec I think he is working out something for the future, when the summer is long and there is no real hockey talk, stupid comments start to happen. I think the last thing Alec and co. Want to do is babysit all of us to make sure we are not offending anybody. Now that hockey is basically back the conversations are back to normal.
Agree he over reacted
I think you didn't read the whole thing and his worst thing said wasn't even on this site it was his twitter feed
He went on a rant when he heard Phook got banned, then said maybe he should start his own site. I think it was over reaction on both parts
Ya he got banned
Im sorry but I guess I'm one go the few that like Lieweke. I think the guy has done a great job so far. Leafs aren't the only team he is in charge of. He brought in leadership in all avenues has said the unpopular things at times but he has to or nobody will. I like what he said about bell and rogers and how they think there the best, and he said there not and the arena isn't that great either lol. Guy had balls would of liked to see him here longer but he will finish his contract and leave. To bad we needed him
4 days, 19 hours ago on Maple Leafs invite Henrik Tallinder and Brendan Mikkelson to training camp
Maybe he's talking about franson, Kadri, or even some marlies that think they deserve to be with the big club. If some marlies get shipped out that you dont expect it, maybe thats the reason
Edit: in the end nobody knows who he was talking about
4 days, 21 hours ago on Maple Leafs invite Henrik Tallinder and Brendan Mikkelson to training camp
@jbman5 damn if we compare players like that that means that Max Domi will be nothing but a fighter in the league
5 days, 2 hours ago on Maple Leafs invite Henrik Tallinder and Brendan Mikkelson to training camp
@Henrik Tallinder @LeafsGuru I think your over valuing gunner, only cause he played top pairing minutes, I have a feeling he will end up on the bottom pairing as the season goes on in St. Louis
@Henrik Tallinder @LeafsGuru mind you they thought they had gorges so gunner didn't fit anymore, Montreal agreed to the trade it was gorges that said no
@Henrik Tallinder that's your opinion, but some would say maybe it's the start of the leafs realizing the gunner wasn't a top pairing d-man and starting to build a proper defense
Holzer is perfect for the press box and will cheap agaist the cap. Until we trade him
5 days, 18 hours ago on Spencer Abbott signs one-year deal
He would have to clear waivers if he didnt make the team. And i think they had a plan but it didnt work. (Gorges)
It could be just to make the team they are talking to pull the trigger on a trade for franson /or to aquire a dman from chicago or boston. (Scaretactic)
5 days, 19 hours ago on Spencer Abbott signs one-year deal
There must be a deal on the table.
Phook has been spotted driving his vespa
5 days, 20 hours ago on Spencer Abbott signs one-year deal
Im thinking Kadri got text message from lupul about this rule change.
@dlb Mad it's like how many people are very high on Percy but his ceiling as people say is a bottom pairing d-man so why not use him in a trade bottom 6 d-man should not be hoarded
1 week ago on Spencer Abbott signs one-year deal
@Rhaegar_ @LeafsGuru @dlb Mad
1) in a cap lowered season Grabo had no value at a 5.5mil price tag that's why he waited so long to sign, because he wanted the same money. That's why he settle at a lower number for 1 year
2) If you wanted to pay Kuli 4 mil I'm glad your not the GM because he's not worth that not even 3 and we were in the playoff race last year at the deadline so they wanted to keep him.
3) as you say with Niemi, Colborne was a circumstance of a lower cap and there was no room to leave him on the roster and he would have never would clear waivers so a 4th is what they got.
MacArthur is the only trade piece that I can agree with but we made the playoffs that year so they again decided to keep him, he may have signed with Ottawa on a reasonable deal but who knows what he wanted from the leafs, and he defiantly is not worth the contract he just got
@Rhaegar_ @LeafsGuru @CanuckUKinToronto @dlb Mad you asked a simple question of who these team let walk with no return. I answered the question, but the point of it was, teams let players walk for nothing all the time. And ference and scuderi were highly sought after in the UFA market. I'm not arguing it wasn't smart moves on the team to pass on those players but the answer was to your question who did they let walk for nothing!
@Rhaegar_ @CanuckUKinToronto @dlb Mad
Chicago- Antti Niemi
just to name a few
@ingy56 @Mcost61 he's a leaf fan
@Rhaegar_ @dlb Mad all players that I didn't want on our team is who you mentioned. And all filler pieces so its not like any team would give up the farm for them.
@dlb Mad it's also pretty hard to sell a prospect that hasn't cracked the roster of a non playoff team for pretty much a decade at a high value.
@ingy56 @LeafsGuru yes its a much better feature, I guess my example isn't so good now lol
@ingy56 @LeafsGuru oh damn I missed that you are correct fine sir thanks!
@ingy56 @LeafsGuru he isn't listed yet, details of amounts haven't been released
@ingy56 @LeafsGuru I was under the impression he had to clear waivers?
I find it weird that a lot of people keep saying we need to stock pile prospects, but sometimes stockpiling them gets you into the wavier situation where we lose them for nothing. Colborne being a prime example of people not being happy about getting a 4th rounder, unfortunately teams know that,
1) a player isn't more than a AHL'er or
2) your in cap trouble.
3. he has to clear waivers so maybe they get him for nothing.
sometimes you need to trade some for not so great value.
Look at McGegg will he clear waivers (I'm not so sure) so what do we do take a chance, or trade him for a draft pick and chances are it with be a 5th or less or package him in a deal with Ashton and/or Franson to get something better.
picks or prospects need to be used to get better now or a high level draft pick (in a package) stock piling them only lets you lose them for nothing.
@Rhaegar_ @LeafsGuru @dlb Mad nothing to show for it??? they went for it and came within 3 games of winning I believe, how much more could they have done. (except win) the off season is all on there GM the draft picks were worth it because if it wasn't for Marty they wouldn't have come close to reaching the finals. ( it was when Marty's mother passed away the team became tight and worked together and found success )
God it's great to be talking Hockey again!!!!!!!!
@dlb Mad @LeafsGuru IDK maybe I'm to high on Holland, my feeling about Holland is he will take over Kadri's job as the 2C very soon.
@Rhaegar_ @LeafsGuru @dlb Mad playoffs are about getting in, Nobody would have predicted at the start of the season, even the start of the playoffs, that the Rangers would be the team to make it to the finals.
@Rhaegar_ @dlb Mad I have to disagree with you about Colborne having an Edge over Holland, I think Holland has more upside, Colborne might have size but he didn't use it.
@Rhaegar_ @LeafsGuru @dlb Mad but that's the risk, make the playoffs and have a chance, or trade your guys even when in the hunt and have the out cry from fans. either way they get shit on for doing one or the other so they go with trying to go for it so that they can see there flaws when push comes to shove
@Rhaegar_ @LeafsGuru @dlb Mad yes but you seem to think teams are willing to buy a guy at the end of a contract at deadline, yes it happens but there are 10-16 teams doing the same thing. Sometimes you can't off load the player even for a 7th. ie: Grabo ( sorry grabo had a contract and no team wanted him)
@MaxwellHowe @Rhaegar_ @LeafsGuru @dlb Mad if they trade franson the Right d isn't a problem as Granberg would play, if Robidas is still sitting out
@Rhaegar_ @dlb Mad yes I'm sure Colorado fans are singing the same tune about Stastny and New Jersey fans about Clarkson (he had trade value at the time lol) every team lets players walk
@Rhaegar_ @MaxwellHowe @LeafsGuru @dlb Mad didn't I write something just like this above?
@Mcost61 @ingy56 ever tweak your golf game and have a completely different result. It could work
@Rhaegar_ @MaxwellHowe @LeafsGuru @dlb Mad a little not that much but what we need is a cheap NHL'er to let Percy have another year so if he doesn't work out it's ok. Not looking for production looking for a d-man who can skate, take the body, and play the bottom left pairing, if he does well we have a tradable asset.
@dlb Mad @LeafsGuru JVR will find success on Kadri's line by planting himself in front of the net, Frattin and Kadri can dangle the puck
@Burtonboy OMG snow, there wasn't even a summer WTF
@dlb Mad @LeafsGuru I like it personally, shows that its Frattin's to lose
@steele123 after all those fans throwing jerseys on the ice last season, guessing some seats might be open
@ingy56 @dlb Mad @Mcost61 and JVR Kadri and Frattin line hmmmmm
@dlb Mad @Mcost61 ashton with holland and Clarkson eh?
